5 out of 5 stars Amazed.......2004-11-25

Every riff on every tune will make you want to pick up your guitar and learn the songs. As far a being an in flames clone, i think of them as more of being the same style. I mean, inflames learned their style through other artists and music genres. Every band has some kind influence. Music is passed down through "time" so we all have our influences, no matter how far you go back in history or what genre of music you listen to. These guys put out an album that would rival my favorite in flames release being The jester race (best guitar work) or whoracle. These songs will stick in your mind. Every song has replay value. 75% of the times i only enjoy 3 songs on any particular album of any artist,,,15% i find albums that i enjoy 5 or 6,,,,10% when i hear an album that i enjoy every freakin song...This is one of those albums...Melodic black metal lovers pick this one up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Extremely well executed!!! Keep it up DIVINE SOULS, you made me cry when i heard this!!

5 out of 5 stars swedish majesty at best.......2004-02-09

you other people are smoking crack, in flames sold out after whoracle. divine souls pick up where in flames left off. great guitar work and excellent drumming. the vocalist is outstanding. anders take note. the people who did the earlier reviews don't understand that this is the same gothenburg style music, but are playing different nots at different tempo's, which makes them a totally different band. both cd's are great. i can't wait for the new one from these masters of melodic death metal. in flames is mainstream now and should call it quits before they end up like selloutica.

1 out of 5 stars In flames rip-offs.......2003-09-04

the first track was the longest song i had ever heard. then i looked up to see that i was halfway through the album. every song is the same thing. way to repitituous. not to mention how they have managed to copy in flames to the exact riff. I hear no originality in this album. and dont even think about buying Embodiment. Its basically them same thing. if you want to hear these guys though, then just buy "the jester race" and "whorical" by in flames. save your money and listen to a band has some originality.

1 out of 5 stars A POOR IN FLAMES CLONE=DIVINE SOULS.......2003-06-30

I picked this up recently at a local metal store in the mall thinking well its Death Metal from Sweden so it has to be good, right? I was proven terribly wrong these guys try to copy In Flames down to the exact riff and the vocalist flat out [is bad],with lack of emotion or power. The drumming is decent but very repetitious to say the less. I would suggest other Swedish bands like (Arch Enemy, Naglfar,OLD In Flames)and other bands, anything but Divine Souls(a poor In Flames clone)to say the least.
