The band burst onto the scene with the uber-catchy dance-pop-rock of "Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)" from the movie's soundtrack. This is their debut full-length. Produced by S*A*M, a.k.a. Sam Hollander (Method Man, The Sounds, Gym Class Heroes) and Sluggo, the alter ego of renowned session bassist Dave Katz (Roger Daltrey). Features special guests, such as members of Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is..., Gym Class Heroes, The Sounds, and 80's dance/pop group The Cover Girls.

Saw this band on this years Honda Civic Tour. I originally went to see Fall Out Boy (of course!) and was totally taken over by Cobra Starship!
I find their music original and fun.
Favorite tracks are "Send My Love to the Dance Floor..." and "Keep it Simple".
I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who is looking for something different.

Cobra Startship's debut album will put you in such a great musical mood, you wont be able to help dancing with yourself!

Gabe Saporta knows just want it takes to get the listener to really feel his songs and get you moving!

My favorite tracks are Send my Love... The balland of Big Poppa... The Kids are all F'd up.

If you are feeling Gabe's sound, be sure to check out some of his former band, Midtown's releases: Forget What you Know OR Living Well is the Best Revenge.

    I must first say that you must be a REAL fan of smooth soul and Quiet Storm ballads if you are to enjoy and appreciate this CD. Narada Michael Walden provided George with some great songs ("Too Many Times", "Shiver", "Kisses In The Moonlight" and the title track) while the Kashif-penned and produced "Secrets In The Night" is simply sublime. Both Narada Michael Walden and Kashif were among the most in-demand R&B produers of the 1980s (they both also have jazz backgrounds) and pairing them with George made for a memorable album.

    This 1986 project may not rival Benson's biggest smash album Give Me The Night, but it's pop accessible and listener friendly...While no particular track may jump out like the classic Give Me The Night, the production and execution are still ear catching and toe tapping at best ! Produced by Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Kenny G.) tracks like Shiver and Teaser pick up the pace with their slick pop n' soul dance sound. In fact, those two tracks come close to being the only memorable standouts...

    This obviously is an overlooked album and it's an excellent choice for those who are fed up with George Benson's overplayed titles.

    If you want the proof that the sound is of a great quality :

    Narada Michael Walden produced and arranged the whole album, except for one title (secrets in the night) which was produced and arranged by... Kashif. These 2 names mean Perfection.

    Benson's long career has seen him doing excellent things and not so good ones. This album is to be sent into the second category. Actually, only two tracks are really worth it, "kisses in the moonlight", which he sometimes performs live, and the rythmic "shiver". That's it. Fortunately enough, Benson seems to have overcome difficult moments and his latest two cds (That's right, and Standing together) are great.

    I stumbled on this CD by accident. While watching an old "Mike Hammer" tv show, George sang "Love is Here Tonight, which totally mesmerized me." The other titles were fantastic, too, but I'm the type who will buy a CD for just one song and play it continuously. Also, it took about a year or so to secure this CD.

    Fantastic performances on this album - every time I give it a listen, I find myself pausing whatever I'm doing for a few minutes to fully enjoy the track. The CD is very well produced and nicely balanced, and tracks are nicely sequenced.

    What I really like, and what makes this CD different from the rest, is that the vocalist E.J. Decker shares the spotlight with the guys in the band, who turn in superb performances. It's like being in a New York nightclub -- the singer takes a little breather, and the musicians are having such a great time they just keep going 'til the vocalist jumps back in.

    From toe-tappers to smoky ballads, you'll really enjoy this slice of New York nightlife - BUY IT!
