SySTeM SySTeM.......2007-05-19
I found the CD good, although have heard better ones!
I recommend for funk collectors like me.
There's only 1 good song on it........2006-08-17
Do you remember the soundtracks to movies back in the mid 80s and the corny crappy music would be playing in the back ground. I mean no wonder they didn't sell soundtracks back then like they do today. Well 99% of both these albums sound just like that. Then you come across, "This is For You" and you actually come across a hit. It's like being a coal miner digging through all that coal and you come across a diamond or you're a bum digging through trash for something to eat and you find $100 in the trash. It's like that. You take "This is for you" off the album and basically you have a coaster for your coffee table. "This is for you" sounds like it was suppose to be on their first album but the record company said , "Hey, let's not put all the jams on one album. Let's save this one for later." If you really, really, really, really like "This is for you" then it's a good buy. But if you're just fond of it, hope and pray you come across a copy of this album in one of those Sell N Buy CD stores for $1, otherwise it's not a good buy.
The Pleasure Seekers : legendary 80's stuff.......2005-11-22
1985's The Pleasure Seekers is not a perfect album, but like 87's "Groove", it's sounds were far ahead of it's time. "Seekers" managed to hold up as a strong predacessor to "Groove". While The System primarily succeeded on singles, the entire albums stood strong on their own. The music is emotional, timeless, and equals in significance to Depeche Mode's material.
The exotic title track was used in an episode in Miami Vice. The increasingly polished production was clearly a big jump from Xperiment (released only a year before).
Hits include This Is For You, I Don't Run From Danger, It Takes 2. My personal favorites are Did In By A Friend and My Radio Rocks.
Finally but where is Sweat and It's Passion .......2005-04-18
Finally Finally but two of the most important dance tunes are still missing from this release "SWEAT " and It's Passion Thank You Guys have been waiting forever for this CD greetings from Curacao where the funk lives forever
FINALLY!!!.......2005-02-21
FINALLY!!! I have been a devoted fan of The System since I first saw the music video for "The Pleasure Seekers" single back in the summer of 1985. Their sound is a notable one amongst the Pop/R&B stylings that came out of the 1980's. Mic Murphy's smooth, sultry vocals met with the techno-melodic keyboard and drum programing wizardy of David Frank truly made for one incredible collaboration after another. I currently own all of their albums on cassette tape (including the single "Coming to America" off of the film soundtrack) and several on CD including Mic Murphy's early nineties solo effort "Touch." I picked up a Japanese import of "The Pleasure Seekers" album on CD a few years back and have awaited reissues of their debut album "Sweat" and their sophmore effort "X-periment" to complete my CD collection of their work. Well, now it is one down and one to go with the release of this double album. I wasn't fully aware of the group at the time "X-periment" was released. I recall hearing their debut album breakthrough single "You Are in My System" when it received radio play after its release in the early 1980's. yet and still, I never really connected with an identity of the group until "The Pleasure Seekers" album was released. Once I did become a fan, I was able to back track and pick up their first two albums on cassette.
"X-periment" has always been a beloved album ofg mine. From the upbeat dance track "I Wanna Make You Feel Good," to the romantic and hypnotic "Lollipops and Everything," to the smooth and melodic "Promises Can Break," to the techno-funky "X-Periment," to the hard-driving, rocking "Bad Girl," to the again melodic yet funky "I Can't Take Losing You"...WHEW! Needless to say, I'm excited and grateful to see this album getting a CD release. Now reissue the techno-funk classic "Sweat" and then GET WITH IT ATLANTIC RECORDS and release a DEFINITIVE collection of The System's greatest hits. Come on, the fan base exists to warrant this effort. Email me and I'll gladly write thorough liner notes for it. I'm not an "accredited" music journalist but I would gladly write a fitting tribute to a musical duo that resonated the perfect blend of technology, soul, pop, rock and funk into a sound that was never matched by any other artist/group.
In closing, I can recall the one and only time I ever saw The System perform live and in person. It was a balmy summer night back in 1987. They were the opening act for Cameo at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD. They were at the peak of the popularity with the recent release of their album and hit single, "Don't Disturb This Groove." Man, they were fantastic. Mic and David shared the stage with three other musicians (one being Paul Pesco, a frequent collaborator of theirs and long-time guitarist for other musicians such as Madonna). Their sound was incredible and Mic's musings and David's prodigious keyboard performances sounded even better than they did on their albums. My only regret is that when they came out on the fringes of the audience to watch Cameo's performance that followed, I didn't go up to them and say, "Thank You." That's all I wanted to say and so I'll say it now. Thank you Mic and David for all of your memorable work together.

AMAZING GUITAR AND A GREAT VOICE.......2007-07-09
Graham Bonnet singing , Chris Impellitteri playing guitar ... Enough said ! It's a great cd. Bonnet and Impellitteri go perfect together . I just wish they would do another cd . Check it out , you won't be disappointed .
Not for the weak.......2007-02-25
If intense guitars and powerful vocals are a turn off then you better go back to playing with dolls. Graham Bonnet and Chris Impelliteri delivery a monster with this CD. I had never heard anything by Impelliteri and I purchased this CD for the fact that Bonnet was the singer. This is one of the best purchases I have made in a while.
Stand in Line part 2 this is not? Thank GOD!!!!.......2006-02-11
This is not Stand in Line part 2. This is much better!! Graham Bonnets voice does not seem to lose a beat. This is a much tighter group and a much better sound. This album is with the times. Very good metal. Grahams 3rd best release. Assault Attack #1, No Parole #2, System X #3. Even includes a Rainbow sounding song. Is it just me or does Falling in love with a stranger sound like All night long. Purchase this release, you will NOT be disappointed. Enjoy!!!
Graham Bonnet rules.......2005-03-17
When Bonnet croons out a chorus with dubbed octaves your dealing with superior musical abilities. The album has its weak tunes but there are a number of good ones that make it worth buying.
Bonnet is back!.......2004-12-16
On System X, Chris Impelliterri wisely brings Graham Bonnet (ex Rainbow, MSG, etc.) back to the mike. With Bonnet's wild vocal acrobatics, you've got a screaming hard rock classic. While not quite at good as Stand in Line, the first Impelliterri/Bonnet outing, System X rocks. Highlights: the melodic "Falling in Love with a Stranger," and the skull-crushing, double bass drum assault of the adreneline-pumping "Perfect Crime" - this track alone is worth the price of admission.

Cinematic, epic, dark prog.......2005-05-31
After nearly four long years, Beyond Twilight has emerged with a new album. Their previous disc The Devil's Hall of Fame with Jorn Lande on vocals was a stunning record, so it caused quite some stress when it was announced that Lande had left and was replaced by a new singer: American vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter from the band Outworld. If you were a fan of Lande's vocals in Beyond Twilight, worry not, Carpenter is an absolutely perfect fit for the position. The tone of his voice and his phrasing are highly similar to Lande's, which is great. There are moments on the album, unless you look in the CD booklet, you wouldn't know it's not Jorn Lande singing. Carpenter does an excellent job; he sings passionately and will easily convince everyone that he is the perfect choice.
Finn Zierler, the man behind Beyond Twilight, is still responsible for most of the songwriting on this disc, which is darker than ever, more progressive and more cinematic. Seemingly written locked in a dark attic, the dirty streets of London and near a cold lake, Section X is the continuation of Beyond Twilight's debut concept, and it kicks off with a very similar theme. There is also an informative and quite interesting storyline printed in the booklet. Even though I can't say I'm too impressed by the concept, neither was I by the one in the previous album. It's more Zierler's unique understanding of composition and creating thick, layered soundscapes that draw me to the sound and style of Beyond Twilight. Once again the production on this album is huge, thanks to Zierler's cooperation with Tommy Hansen during the mixing stages. This album is more of progressive tinged disc with sweeping arrangements and numerous emotional twists. Jacob Hansen's addition to the fold also serves this purpose, and his presence is easily noticeable. Give a close listen to the way the guitars slowly soar above Zierler's piano on "Sleeping Beauty" and how they fade into infinity as if the wind carries them away. This song also features guest vocalist Truls Haugen whose clean singing exchanges spots with Carpenter's more aggressive style. The big chorus filled with Latin lyrics is a reference to the first Beyond Twilight album, except that the female choir singing it is a lot more effective this time around.
New vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter takes on many different roles through the album. From the most haunting melody lines pulled out of the depths of hell that permeat "The Path of Darkness", the gruff and enraged singing on "Shadow Self", the cold spoken passages on "The Dark Side", or even the more multi-octave hitting screams on the 9-minute closing title track, Carpenter makes this album as amazing as the highly acclaimed debut, and certainly proves to be a fantastic addition to prog metal singers. Once the debut Outworld disc sees the light of day, it will be a headturner, mark my words.
There is a mindblowing instrumental track titled "Portrait F in Dark Waters", a classical intermezzo that starts out lush and laid-back, but quickly picks up and ventures into a dark musical territory displaying Zierler's ethereal piano and keyboard work merged with a great sense of orchestration - you must hear it, as I consider the composition presented here much better crafted than the instrumental pieces on the debut album. Zierler's tone is distinctive in all the songs, as he implements various progressive elements in the songs backed up by powerful twin guitars and a solid rhythm section. Best exemplified on the title track, each instrument weaves its way through the music delicately, laying down subtle odd time signatures without letting go of the dark atmosphere this album is intended to possess. Note the way the keyboards subtly morph into an Egyptian-themed arpeggiated guitar melody during the breakdown that ultimately leads to the dramatic finale. It might strike you speechless.
Beyond Twilight is back! Let's hope we won't have to wait another four years for their third album. But then if that's what it takes to create epic and soulful music like this, that's cool with me. Both Beyond Twilight albums are essential for dark prog metal fans.

This album (1994) is very powerful. It's Euro-Dance & Hi-Energy.
The best tracks are "If there is a god in Heaven",
"Don't Knock Me Out",
"Does Your Mother Really Know?",
"When You Are Lonely" (the best BLUE SYSTEM ballad!)
and, of course, "Don't Stop To Dance"!!!

Starting with the super HOUSE/TECHNO/TRANCE track DR. MABUSE! This single was not charted in Germany but Latvia where it reached no.17. I love all the songs in this album and advice everyone who is into dance, trance and techno music to buy this album. Dr Mabuse and â~Donât Stop To Danceâ are the best tracks.
FACT: This is a Gold selling album.
Blue system X.......2001-08-05
I purchesed this album a few days ago and can't stop listening to it. Love the dance rithm an all the fast beat songs and the slow once.
Only heard 1 song but liked it........1999-12-05
"Dr. Mabuse" (also found on _Lo Mejor De Lo Mejor Dance Club_) is a great song--fast and uplifting harmony, and the lyrics are quite interesting, not just the typical pop culture/love stuff you hear all the time.

the U.N is SLOW.......2005-06-13
It is a tragedy that Western countries cannot act when it is most necessary and vital.
The world must react to immobility! I know i'm only talking and not acting but if everybody realized what is going in Sudan (among other places) the world probably wouldn't be in this sad situation.
IT'S PRETTY SAD IF YOU'RE TRYING TO RESELL THIS CD WITH ZERO FUNDING GOING TOWARDS THE GENOCIDE RELIEF FUNDS. PEOPLE, IF YOU WANT THIS CD TAKE A LOOK AT THIS AND BUY FROM THIS SITE...I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THE MONEY WILL BE SENT TO HELP WHERE IT IS MOST NEEDED. According to the UN, the conflict in Sudan has created the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with more than one million people driven from their homes and up to 50,000 people killed by government supported militias (CNN 8/31/04). The systematic rape of women and the murder of children has been widely reported.
"We're trying to address two things with this CD," says Waxploitation CEO Jeff Antebi, the album's executive producer. "The first is to get the United Nations to declare the ongoing atrocities a genocide, so that real action can take effect to stop what is obviously an `ethnic cleansing' taking place, in violation of the 1948 Geneva Convention. The second is to raise money for the dire relief situation effecting over 1 million innocent civilians who might die from starvation and disease if aid does not reach them right now."
In 1994 in Rwanda an estimated 800,000 people were killed in just 100 days, in one of the worst genocides of the last century. One of the primary reasons cited for why this happened was a lack of outside intervention by the United Nations. Even with UN troops on the ground in Rwanda, they were unable to intervene because it was not legally declared a Genocide until too late.
Waxploitation will donate all of the profits from the Genocide in Sudan CD to the United Nations Refuge Agency and UNICEF (www.unhcr.ch and www.UNICEF.org ), build awareness for solutions that anyone can easily assist with, including signing the petition at (www.darfurgenocide.org/action.htm), and guide people to protests and events in their area.
The CD will be available at most major retailers as well as at www.waxploitation.com/genocide.
For more information, please check out www.waxploitation.com/genocide , www.unhcr.ch , www.unicef.org and www.darfurgenocide.org/action.htm
