Great cd and super collector's item for all Smallville fans! You'll love hearing the full length version of the theme song "Save Me," plus the songs are all terrific and take you back to the shows in which they aired.

If you are a Smallville fan, as i am you will love The Talon Mix.
Also by putting the disk in your ROM drive you have access to the town of Smallville and more........
If you are in to Smallville you will not be disappointed with this purchase. I think it is excellent and so i am giving it five stars.

Out of the two soundtracks, this one is the best. The mixture of songs has the feel of the show. There are about 5 or 6 songs that are the best. I was a little disapointed by the lack of extras in the inset, but if you have the boxsets, then this id not a major thing.

    Blevin Blectum is one half of the duo Blectum From Blechdom. Talon Slalom is a mind-bending trip, quite unlike most electronic records you've heard. This is dynamic sound/beat/loop collage that flows from fun, catchy and groovy to intense, dense and fractured. Blevin's solo work gets into deep sample-based sound design with extended themes, in comparison to the more lyrical songs and max/msp sounds of Blectum from Blechdom. The music on this CD is essentially the soundtrack to a movie+music live performance. The CD also comes with a Quicktime video for your PC or Mac (an excerpt from the Talon Slalom video produced by Ryan Junell).

    'Talon' (both the band and their self-titled album) definitely has all the key elements of good 80's hard rock - lyrics about angst-filled love, solid clean guitar riffs, interesting musical arrangements, screaming melodic vocals and rhythm that's both rockin' and danceable. Vocalist Michael O'Mara at times is reminiscent of noted Quiet Riot front man Kevin DuBrow (when O'Mara is singing from the back of his throat). At other times, the tenor sounds like a combination of Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil and Jon BonJovi. Guitarist Jim Lee (or Kee, depending on which part of the album sleeve you read) demonstrates an influence by George Lynch and Matthias Jabs with a nod to Eddie Van Halen on occasion. Talon's first album is one you can play at parties amongst friends who share in your joy, pain and love for good beer.

    One of the best new metal/rock bands I have heard from in a long time. Great guitar, reminds me of the crunchy, tap your feet groove of the Scorpions, along with excellent vocals make this a great effort. The songs stick with you from Wrecking ball to the rhythmatic All is not forgiven. Great hooks and nice lyrics. If you yearn for a better time, when music was fun and made you want ot whip out your air guitar...Talon Rocks.

          Mr. Pressley has the great ability through his music to put you in the right frame of mind. Share this album with that certain someone and you will not be disappointed! This album calls out for candles and romance, but it is also great when you are alone after a hard day. Whatever your mood, this album will bring a smile to your face and a warmth to your soul. Buy it!

          5 out of 5 stars KILLER Debut Album!.......2004-10-13

          A year or so ago, I got into the L.A.-based band Killingbird, for who Skyla Talon plays guitar. I loved both of their albums, which I thought of as gritty glam rock combined with classic punk rock. It sounded and felt so dirty and raw, so of course I wanted to check out Skyla's debut album. Needless to say, I was impressed and even blown away at the sheer power of this CD. From the opening track "American Ending", I felt like my eardrums were going to explode. Of course, I listen to my music turned up to 11! So if that happens, it's all my fault. My favorite tracks on the album are "American Ending", "Out Of Love (With Dead Roses)", "A Dead Valentine", and "Gone Before The Day". "Gone Before The Day" is probably my favorite track on the album, and if you've never heard Killingbird's music, I think this song resembles Killingbird's signature sound. Skyla's voice is powerful and I think it resembles a cross between Killingbird's lead singer, Christian, and early Robby Takac (of Goo Goo Dolls fame). It's an all-around killer album with powerful tracks like those mentioned, but at the same time, Skyla comes down a little bit in songs like "Stared At The Sun" and "In The Shadows", so for a debut album, I definitely give this CD five well-deserved stars. Listen to the sample tracks and judge for yourself! If you're into his music, definitely check out Killingbird, who Kerrang describes as "ripping pieces of flesh from the carcass of glam-metal and sewing them into the pockmarked, pustulating carcass of classic punk rock". SKYLA ROCKS!
