Keeps on tickin!.......2007-06-15
I'll have to say first, I didn't know what to expect when I bought this CD. I bought it after I heard Influences. That was an excellent (cover song) effort in it's own right. I am very glad I did take the plunge. For those who like original, real electric / acoustic rock with good vocal leads, harmonies and solid, talented musicianship, this a CD is for you. It is not a rehashed Styx, Night Ranger or Dam Yankees mix. It is a bit lighter than most of that music, but very good none the less. It starts right out with the 2 excellent cuts and maintains a high degree of quality throughout. This is no partially talented and/or half-baked attempt to make a few bucks CD either. It's a well recorded CD, with songs crafted by an accomplished, talented duo with Steve Smith on drums. The songs range from outstanding to good. No fills or bummers here. I would have liked to see it a bit longer (more songs). And that's a compliment of sorts too. It was that good. But it's not easy to write a full CD's worth of good songs. This CD is well worth listening to.
More Please! .......2007-06-02
I've never written one of these and probably won't again unless Shaw Blades releases another like Hallucination. Guys, the covers are nice, but why do I want to listen to what I already know when you are capable of producing your own original (and excellent) work. To the listening public: buy this one, enjoy it and join me in beating the drum for MORE!
Two Righteous Rockers Team Up For A Dynamic Duo.......2007-04-27
On HALLUCINATION, Tommy Shaw (Styx, Damn Yankees) and Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees), team up for a session on which they play all instruments except drums, which are handled by Steve Smith. This CD is much lighter in sound than their previous bands' music was, and is, with songs espousing the idea that camaraderie and friendship are more important than trying to impress the opposite sex by wearing clothing made in countries which convict foreign tourists on false charges. Given the fact that Shaw and Blades both advocate sanctions against Indonesia in retaliation for that country's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist, that can hardly be seen as a surprise. Shaw's and Blades's views on this issue make HALLUCINATION an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.
Awesome Album.......2007-03-14
I'm a huge styx fan and a huge Night Ranger fan I love these guys' Damn Yankees work as well as their other side projects. This is a fantastic album by 2 of the best musicians to come out of their generation.
Good, strong album.......2006-11-06
If you like Damn Yankees, you'll probably like this CD. It's not quite as heavy, but Shaw & Blades complement each other really well and the tracks are all solid.

Sensual Bliss..........2006-07-12
Judging from the other reviews, it looks as if you either don't understand this album at all or you want to marry it, have it's babies, and make sure a copy goes into your casket when you check out. I am one of the latter. I am currently shopping for my second copy of this cd, my old one of 11 years got lost in a recent move and I'm jonesing...best meditation, space, sexy music around. The disc has held up to repeated playings, I am always finding new moments in it to enjoy. It is surely Laswell's greatest; how can I decribe it? Rich orchestrated Trip-hop/acid jazz/world beat, they do stuff here in 'real time' w/ 'real instruments' that most DJ's who have to rely on synths and loops must only dream of. I agree with the other reviewers that Laswell's ouvre is very uneven...but fans of this one take heart, there was an album made about the same time with many of the same musicians which is almost as good as this one...if you're interested, check out Nicky Scopelitis's Ektasis album (he has several with similar titles, look for the one on the Axiom label with the koenline cover with the Horus/ Udjat eye design). I envy those who will discover this album anew...happy listening...
Superlatives are superfluous.......2006-05-27
This is a truly brilliant album that anyone who gives a shi-ite about music should have in their collection. I like all kinds of music (except R & B, top-40 garbage & punk-lite, e.g. Goood Charlotte) - everything from Sepultura, Slipknot, Obituary, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Opeth, Clash, Pistols, Damned, Iggy & the Stooges, Velvets, Ramones, Pere Ubu, Wire, Butthole Surfers, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Public Enemy, Beasties, James Brown, P-Funk, Boards of Canada, Orbital, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, etc, etc. If you like any of the aforementioned you will like this album (mind you, if your musical palette is limited to one genre only, e.g. death metal, then you are a narrow-minded fool and will probably be bemused and not understand it at all).
It's very trippy (the title is apposite) and very chilled out and combines all kinds of styles - I think another reviewer mentioned funk, jazz, rock, hip-hop and ambient. That pretty much covers it! It features the legendary Bill Laswell (bass player extraordinaire and head of Axiom Records) as the driving force behind the band, Wayne Shorter (jazz saxophonist who used to play with Miles Davis), Bootsy & Bernie of P-Funk fame, Nicky Skopelitis on excellent guitar, a couple of Middle Eastern-sounding geezers, and sundry others. The price of admission alone is justified by "Words of Advice", a William Burroughs (RIP) rant that includes the immortal line "Who wants to be the richest guy in some cemetery?" The man's advice is SOLID.
BUY THIS RECORD!!!!!!!
overrated junk.......2005-12-22
Couldn't choose zero stars, unfortunately. The self-indulgent, easy-listening, adult contemporary stuff here is below contempt. What a great waste of talent, if one's is to believe the liner credits: Z. Hussein, Jaki Liebezeit, et al, what were you thinking? Abismally dissapointed. Stay away! . .
Thank God CD's are more durable than vinyl.......2004-05-08
While my review may not be as eloquent as the others on this page, the sentiments are the same. This recording will take you to a hundred different places every time you listen to it, be it night time or day. I have found myself raving about this album to others like some crazy fanatic - but then you just have to get it to see what I mean.

Answer to the Question.......2003-09-23
The name of the song is O.B.E. which stands for Out of Body Experience. It is a sample of Precious Things by Tori Amos. You can find the song on Urbal Beats vol. 1
As far as the album is concerned there are some great songs and some blah songs. I find Track 2 and 3 to be excellent.
i have a question for you rabbit in the moon fans...............2002-04-16
could someone please tell me the tittle of the song and album that the song that has all three letter words in it is called?
More great remixes from the Florida based act.......2001-10-14
A wider selection of groups and acts to be remixed than the previous volume which tended to concentrate more on other electronic artists work.
Top tracks are remixes of Garbage's 'Milk' turning it into a techno groover, and the great remix of Banco de Gaia's 'Drunk as a Monk', which is transformed into a breakbeat techno piece.
A very good addition to your electronic and dance music collection.
Kick buttock cd!!!!.......2001-09-23
Rabbit in the Moon kicks buttock. I first heard their music at the same time I saw their live show -both blew me away!! Their sound is truely unique. It is it's own genre of music. I was amazed by their blend of sound - ambient and peaceful, but dark and powerful at the same time. I would not call it trance, but it puts you in one. While watching them they threw out this cd and hit me in the face with it- literally. Soon after that i listened to it and it hit me again with it's infectious blend of beats and sounds. Highly recommended!! SEE THEM LIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Remixes bring old into new.......1999-12-14
This cd is a great retrospect of others music - with that patent R.I.T.M. style. It takes you along a great trance-dream journey. A must for the techno collection. This band is one to watch in the new millenium.
And you should see thier stage show - nothing typical about this. See a rare R.I.T.M. performance when or where ever you can. True visonaries.
(They might be performing at Utlra-beach fest in Miami in early March. The concert was on the sand in Miami Beach last year with 20 other artists...sponsored by MTV. Come on down)

Rabbit on Charlie.......2002-01-18
Rabbit in the Moon is an awesome act, but that is the point; you NEED to see them live to fully savour, appreciate and understand their special ectoblend of trippy/ambient/trance. I was fortunate to witness RITM at Checkpoint Charlie, which is without doubt the world's premier dance party held annually in a magical, Hobbitonesque forest outside of Wellington, New Zealand. The performance was spellbinding, leaving the forest dwellers on an incredible high - a kind of contagious wave swept thyrough the trees and filled 3000 partygoers with, um...a kinda natural sense of ecstacy. There was much love in the glade and everyone had lid-locked glazzies for each other. Having seen this act, this CD - any RITM CD - is awesome, mainly because the music opens a deluge of wonderful memories. But hey - if you are into trippy trance, buy this CD because it is as good as anything else in the genre. However, the music will be tenfold more impactful if you witness it live. Should the opportunity present itself, believe me, take it.
Enjoy - DC, NZ
The most beautiful music I've heard in a long time.......2001-07-19
I burned a copy of this cd from a friend after hearing the first track. When I listened to the rest of it I was in awe. Track #7 is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. I'm actually trying to learn to play it on the piano I love it so much
Simply the Best.......2000-12-10
Of all the RITM remixes, this CD single stands out in its stylization and creativity. There's drum 'n bass, overlays of trance and funky breaks. I love this CD when I need to chill out and just think. By the way, FLOORI.D.A. is available on vinyl from their web site hallucination.com. If they ever come to your area, they are definitely a must see.
Friggin' hell! this is godly!.......2000-11-15
Three words for ya: RiTM is god. With that said, all you can do now is buy this cd, cause unless your some weirdo who hates everything, your gonna love this cd...
A marvelous CD.......2000-11-15
This is an absolutely wonderful CD. It's incredibly addictive. There's breaks here, drum 'n' bass, electro, and a few other genres which I forget. It's got that epic quality to it, like you could either dance to it or chill, depending on how you're feeling. It'd be nice if the original mix was here, but the "Handled Without Care" mix is pretty darn close. I LOVE the piano breakdown, but then, I'm a sucker for piano in dance music. I also like the AK1200 mix; it especially shows the softer side of AK1200.
RitM is playing live in my area next week, and I wish I had the money to go, but it's going to be a $35 super-massive event. If you ever have the chance to see them, go, you will not be disappointed. (And by the way, there *are* RitM tracks which get pressed to vinyl....but you really have to look and hunt any time you want a specific vinyl record.)

Essentially just one song. .......2007-02-14
This is the one and only single from the Gruesome Twosome, who are essentially Chris + Cosey from the band Throbbing Gristle. It's just one of their many aliases they used while doing music for the club scene in the 80's and 90's (another being The Genetic Terrorists). Hallucination Generation was the one club hit back in the late 80's and this is the single to find it in. Don't let the several tracks on this single fool you. Heck don't even let the second song (Hollywood Babylon) fool you. It's all the same song.
You get the same crazy beat. The same samples. The same bassline. The same synth hooks. Same music theory. The only thing separating the two mixes of Hallucination Generation and the two mixes of Hollywood Babylon is a few changes in the arrangements and some edits. Does that mean this single isn't worth your time? No way. I'm just giving you an honest assessment in case you were expecting two different songs.
Hallucination Generation (and of course Hollywood Babylon) is one of the more creative industrial dance tracks that made it out to the clubs back in the day. It had sort of a slight New Beat feel to it, but it would be unfair to categorize it as such. The song is brooding and uses simple basslines and instrumentation layered with some insane samples. The singing reminds me of a mix between A Split Second and Popeye the Sailor, and mixes well with the music. Other groups might have attempted to put this sort of thing together, only to end up with mangled sounding garbage. Here you get it right.
If you are a fan of industrial techno music, especially from the late 80's, then this is the song for you. Unfortunately it's a very rare CD so choose wisely on how much you would want to invest in this album.

The Sickest Of All-Time.......2003-11-06
If you have never experienced The Badlands please do yourself the favor. It is the all time greatest expression of dark electro core techno music possible. With the insanest beats wedded to the darkest lyrics it gives new meaning to the ideal of the fun-loving ripper. This music leaves you salivating for more, it is absolute intense and words cannot describe the joyful glee with which one listens to Jackal & Hyde tear new holes into the mind, the universe and every sane person's sense of logic and proportion. Think... BIG beat and precision electronica. Think raw beauty with uninhibited power. This is Jackal & Hyde. But one senses irony as well. The lyrics to "Pimp Of The Nation" pressure you to think beyond the pale. What do they mean to do? I think they mean to push the envelope and thresholds of respectability and pleasure. It is indicative of the genre as a whole to throw down, but these guys turn it into a passion. "Give It All You Got" is an Afro-Rican anthem to good times on the dance floor, proving that these musicians do not need to get nasty to get crunchy.
The "Seek And Destroy"s on this album also prove that they are able to establish a mood instrumentally. The dark brooding futuristic atmosphere is reminiscent of a land where the computer which controls its citizenry has gone horribly wrong, resembling a post apocalyptic vision of distorted, chaotic beauty.
But the "Rollin" proves they still master pop, I mean, who else could make Limp Bizkit sound even more raw as F%#@
Anyway you slice it, please do yourself the illest favor ever, get this disc, yo.
Kings of Elektro.......2003-10-05
Jackal & Hyde are one of the best underground artists in the realm of electronic music. Their sound incorporates plenty of hardcore breakbeats, robotic funk, and intense bass. You'll be sure to find some of their bombest tracks on mixes by DJ Icey, Baby Anne, Simply Jeff, and many others. Jackal & Hyde's sound and technique are incomparible to any other. Their first mainstream album, The Badlands, is a must have for any true Elektro-Breakz fan looking for ultimate beats and rythm.
amazing hardcore darkbeats!.......2003-09-23
this jackal and hyde album is wonderous! its dark and evil sounding anthems will suck your soul and lick your funky emotions. buy it and you wont be disappointed.

This is a very underated album!.......2007-03-30
A continuation of the milder Damn Yankees music.
These two guy sound great together.
One of my favorite albums!!
Excellent! Great! And did I mention very melodic.......2007-03-26
Why are there not more albums like this? It's like the good old days before mass marketing. The music speaks for itself - and these are mostly acoustic songs (apart from the excellent My Hallucination) - big production not needed. Every song has originality, insistent hooks, and a real emotional connection (or at least - well-faked sincerity). In my opinion, this is better than anything done by Styx since Paradise Theatre, or anything by Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, etc. (Though it's not a direct equation). The lyrics are heartfelt (especially in My Hallucination and the haunting Don't Talk To Me Anymore). The feel is relaxed, de-hyped, de-egoed, just music for its own sake. This is a one-off album, like Blue Jays or Travelling Wilburys. Sequel neither necessary nor desirable, but for one album, it's music heaven.
A Different Sound Than Their Damn Yankee Days.......2006-05-02
Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw, along with Ted Nugent and Michael Cartelone combined to form Damn Yankees in 1990. After two very successful albums, the group unexpectedly split up. But Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades produced this very fine collection of songs that has a very different sound than their Damn Yankees efforts.
Gone is Ted Nugent's screaming lead guitar, having been relpaced by a much more melodic sound. Tommy almost exclusively plays acoustic guitar on this CD, although he does pick up his trusty electric six string a few times as well. Jack handles most of the lead vocal responsibilities, and his bass playing is as good as ever.
All of the songs on this CD are very good, but "My Hallucination", " Come to be my Friend", and "Don't Talk to me Anymore" are a few of the best. In addition, "Blue Continental" and "Down That Highway" provide a classic southern-rock style that will surely please the listener. This CD is a definite departure of ways for both Tommy and Jack, who grew their reputations on loud guitar rock. But this CD is very special because it shows off the multiple talents of both Tommy and Jack.
I've been a fan of Styx, Night Ranger, and Damn Yankees for many years, and this CD deserves a place with these other great groups. Listen to this great CD and hear how two great hard rockers "mellowed out" and produced a very good CD.
Shaw Blades.......2005-11-27
I LOVE this cd!!! Excellent!! They both are so talented & their voices blend together so well. There isn't one bad song on this cd to me. I loved Damn Yankees, I love Styx, I loved Night Ranger so if you feel the same about those bands then you'll also love this cd. While you're at it check out Jack Blades solo cd it is also excellent!!!
Shaw/Blades a Great Duo.......2005-09-26
Both Tommy and Jack bring their best to this CD. Their harmony is tight, and their styles blend well. Reminiscent of their Damn Yankee days, but a bit more mellow without Ted Nugent's screaming guitar. Every cut held my attention from beginning to end. I play it over and over and never tire of it. I'm looking forward to their new effort, due out soon.

Album Description
Three: Hallucienda, the new mix CD from noted New York-based DJ/producer Three of the critically acclaimed Second-Hand Satellites (with Sean Q6) & Three A.M. (with Rabbit in the Moon's David Christophere) the duo behind seminal remixes of Rabbit in the Moon's - "Out of Body Experience" (Burning Spear Mix) & "FloorI.D.A." (A Dub for Strangeways) plus U.N.K.L.E. feat. Ian Brown's - "Reign" (Black Swan Vocal Mix.) The compilation features rare and unreleased tracks from his celebrated Hallucination Limited record label.
Armed with a sound that borrows equally from vintage acidhouse, soulful techno and electronic dub, Hallucination Limited has fast become a celebrated underground label in the world of electronic music. Now, for the first time anywhere in stores, Three makes available some of the best tracks the label has to offer, expertly mixed by Three himself. HALLUCIENDA is the first-ever `official' Three mixed CD and captures the genre-bending diversity of both his DJ sets and the output on his Hallucination Limited label.

Three x dope = Hallucienda .......2006-03-02
DJ Three's probably one of the most underrated US DJ outhere. Even i dont rememeber him having residency [or played] at Twilo.. and i was there almost every friday for like a year straight ! anyway, this is a really solid mix by Three, starts off with a banging track which surprised me as lots of mixes starts off mellow, however it doesnt sound forceful or overwhelming at all. he keeps it this way by slowly building and the mix peaks around track 8 - 9. then he surprises me again as he winds down using the last 3 tracks which are breaks ! fat basslines and chanting female vocals really make the tracks sexy. overall its a bumpin mix which efficiently captures the sounds played on the dance floor by Three, able to dance to and/or listen to with the equal amount of pleasure.

A solid debut from a old school hero.......2005-10-02
If your already familiar with DJ Three then you are as excited as I was that he finally put out a CD. Three has been pushing his sound since the mid 90's.
If your not familir with DJ Three I can assure you that if you like deep sexy house, electro house, mixed well and with passion, this CD will not dissapoint.
This mix is full of treasures from his Hallucination Limited Label. Trach 11 is especially choice. The vocals are warm and sexy with an infectious beat. Mix one (on the CD) is mostly from CDR as most of the tracks are not released, there is also a goof use of effects and production tricks on mix one.
The CD also includes a link to a special second mix which is equally as awesome. One of the best remixes of FLOOR.I.D.A. on mix two. Mix two is all wax, not wistles and bells, just strait up edm mixed well and perfect for headphones or speakers.

Perhaps one, if not the most promising force to emerge from Japan lately, with their incredible form of intense, straight-in-your-face slamming brutal death metal the American way, these Japanese sickos will surely please fans of bands like DEHUMANIZED, SUFFOCATION, SKINLESS & DYING FETUS!. Features impressive cover artwork by Tony Koehl (INTERNAL SUFFERING, GORATORY, MALIGNANCY, etc.).
