4 out of 5 stars Well, hell...........it's the "Rhino" !!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-06-08

Great songs....well written!! This album is going to move them into the "next generation" of listeners!! Packed full of the "Rhino" sound, this one has the style (some say AC/DC), but I like to say, "AC/DC with a touch of sleaze"!! Seriously, great album!! You won't, and can't go wrong here....."welcome to the Rhino"!!!!!!!!!!! Purchase today!!!

5 out of 5 stars should be bigger.......2007-05-12

rhinobucket-these guys are too good.this album rocks!! I am not sure if the band is recording or not.If they aren't man they should be.pain,i stand before you,too much talk, blow by blow[not jeff beck],mad naggie on and on this disc is great.i love all the tunes on this disc. but the one i like best is "i was told". i love the band and the disc!

5 out of 5 stars Great Rock & Roll.......2007-05-02

Rhino Bucket has been around since 1992 and I have all their cds.......but this remastered version of Pain is excellent. The five bonus tracks are up to par with all the rest of the Rhino Bucket stuff. The highlight of the five bonus tracks is their cover of Ian Hunter's "Bastard"....they really kick it with that song!!!!!!! So if you're an AC/DC fan...you will definately enjoy listening to Rhino Bucket....so go ahead and buy it....it is worth every penny!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Even Better Than Before.......2007-02-18

Pain is one of Rhino Buckets best albums no doubt, but with the addition of these five bounus tracks, things just got a whole lot better. If you love the sound of AC/DC then you should get this right now. You will not be dissapointed!!!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome stuff!!.......2007-06-03

Alright, you have to agree that "some" songs remind one of AC/DC, but for me, like other Metal/Hard-Rock lovers, "Rhino Bucket" add's a touch of sleaze that just sets it on fire!! "Sights Too High" gets this collection fired off...great song! Followed by "Been There, Done That" and "Nothing To Loose". "One Night Stand" is here as a "LIVE" recording, as well as, "Beat To Death Like A Dog", "Hey There", "Ride The Rhino", and "Train Ride"! The "LIVE" songs will peal the paint off your walls!!! The original demo's that round out the album are just what you remember....awesome!! Anything "Rhino Bucket" is a must have addition to any collection! Whether you are new to the "Rhino", or a schooled veteran, pick this one up and throw a party!!!!

5 out of 5 stars A Great Collection Of Rare Tracks.......2007-02-18

As all Rhino Bucket fans know, all of their albums are out of print, but their new one. If You don't want to spend the all the time & money trying to find those albums, then this one is definately for you. It contains the original demos, plus live versions of some of there greatest songs like One Night Stand & Hey There. This would also be good if you've never heard them before, it would give you a kinda greatest hits if you will. This is really a great album and i know any person who likes AC/DC will not be dissapointed.

2 out of 5 stars and then it got old.......2007-07-17

the title of this album says it all, a huge letdown after the first three releases

2 out of 5 stars Something's missing..........2006-10-26

I'm a big RB fan but I was dissappointed with this release. I just don't hear the quality in the songwriting this time. Everything sounds forced and plastic to me.

I read concerns from fans over the female drummer but the drums sound solid to me. Not an issue at all. Just no catchy songs.

The thing that I think made RB great was that they took what AC/DC was before they became a caricature of themselves and made it better. Albums brimming with swagger and raw energy from top to bottom.

I hate to put anything negative down about such a great band but, since I tend to check the customer reviews before I buy, my advice is: buy any one of (or all three of) the previous releases: Pain, Get Used To It, Rhino Bucket. If you're reading this I'll be shocked if you don't love them. Skip this album. Hopefully there will be a next one and it will be better. And....definitely see them live if you get a chance. Like most great bands, the recording is just a shadow of what they are.

4 out of 5 stars The Bucket is back...............2006-05-10

Good solid old school guitar rock album from the guys(and girl?!?!). For those who haven't heard, the original drummer underwent a certain gender changing surgical procedure to which the album title/pic may possibly be related...

About the music, there are about 6 or eight good solid tunes with Hammer and Nail and Blood Sweat and Beers standing out. Also included is a cool acoustic redo of 'I Was Told' from the Pain album.

It is good to hear some good old rip and tear rock n roll in this age of NuMetal schlup. Overall I was very happy with the new album and just like ACDC, more of what you'd expect but who would have it any different?!? Rhino Bucket is currently on tour so don't miss them live when they hit the streets of your town!!!

5 out of 5 stars Yes, it's AC/DC-esque but..........2006-05-06

All the tracks one this CD are catchy, high energy and well written. The energy and freshness that withered away from AC/DC after the Mutt Lange albums (with the marginal exception of The Razor's Edge) are here in spades.

I don't think you have to be an AC/DC fan to love this CD but you should know that this is miles from all the nu-metal and rap metal groups. It's not metal at all in my opinion. It's melodic hard rock. I love the more trendy genres too but if you want something that's back to the roots without sounding dated you need this disc.

I've seen them live too and they were great (including the mix which you can almost never blame on the band).

I haven't picked up their latest release yet (& Then It Got Ugly) but I plan to.

3 out of 5 stars Heavily AC/DC influenced rock with conviction.......2006-03-22

This band are better on record than live, which is very rare for this sort of stuff. This is bar rock skirting bar metal. Done with conviction and intent. Song titles like Beat to Death Like A Dog, No Friend of Mine and The Devil Sent You give you a rough idea of the sort of 'done me wrong' headspace these guys are coming from.

Live, the one time I saw them, the bass sound utterly ruined proceedings. It must be assumed that this was a problem at that one gig because there are no such problems here.

The real downside comes from the fact that if I wanted to listen to AC/DC then I'd just throw one of their innumerable discs on. These guys are such utter clones of that sound. They are great for a good time but there is no real virtuosity here, no particularly amusing lyrics, no desire to do anything but follow a blueprint that's been done a hundred times before and better.

This is a good album to pick up if your into AC/DC - it could open up a whole new band for you as these boys have a number of other releases - can't review them as I've not heard them. But I can recommend this as an intro to these boys.

5 out of 5 stars The CD AC/DC should have put out...........2003-12-27

It's kind of hard to find the words to write about what I have described as one of my top 10 favorite CDs of all time (I own around 800).
I could mess around with a bunch of philosophical terms and BS like that, but I'll put it to you straight. This is the CD that AC/DC should have put out after Back In Black. If you love AC/DC (particularly Bon Scott era) you will love this band and you will love this CD.
Check out "Beat to Death Like a Dog", "She's a Screamer", and "Ride with Yourself" (RWY was on the Wayne's World SDTRCK). There are NO throw aways on this CD, but those are three that really stand out to me.
I don't know what else to say, but I love this band and this CD. If you love hard rock and you love the AC/DC type sound, this is for you.

5 out of 5 stars Holds equal ground with AC/DC and is not a clone.......2006-08-18

This CD is absolutely fantasic and from my collection of more than 2,000 CD's, it is one of the best. Too bad I can only give 5 stars. Contrary to popular belief and the comments above, they are not an AC/DC rip-off. Just because the singer's voice is similiar to Bon Scott's and they have two guitars in the line-up does not make them an AC/DC clone. They do have a similiar sound to AC/DC but anyone who knows music will hear that each band has its own style. The songs on "Get Used to It" are powerful, well arranged and there is not one on the album that you could label just "OK". All are great! There are not many albums from other well-known bands that you can say that about. If you are a fan of hard rock (and yes, if you like AC/DC) then you should definitely check-out Rhino Bucket. And even if the album is from the 90's, it does not make it any less incredible. It ages VERY well. And for future reviewer's, stop with the AC/DC comparison's. Rhino Bucket is perfectly capable of standing on the strength of their music.

5 out of 5 stars AC/DC CALLED... THEY WANT THEIR ROYALTY CHECK........2006-01-10

I've never heard a bigger rip-off in my life, but that's what makes this album so great. It's the "lost" Bon Scott era AC/DC album, and it's simply superb. It's so good AC/DC probably just decided not to sue out of utter respect.

5 out of 5 stars doing what they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-02-18

i liked all three releases from rhinobucket, and thought this was their best, straight ahead rock and roll ,good guitar work done here , very tight playing, and simon does an excellant job keeping the back beat for the band, if you like early ac/dc with the great bon scott, you will like this album. am still waiting for the new release due out in march and am wondering if the new guitarist can fill the shoes of greg fields. keep on rockin' georg............................

4 out of 5 stars Rhino Bucket - 'Pain' (Moonstone).......2005-02-16

'Pain' was the band's third and apparently their last CD they put out.I probably wouldn't give it a four star rating,if they didn't sound SO much like AC/DC.I saw them play a club once and except for the fact they had no cannons going off or any fifty foot inflatables of a giant Angus, they PRACTICALLY were AC/DC.'Pain' is a bit more raw that their two earlier albums, but in this case that's a good thing.Tracks I found to lure me to play this CD over many times were the title cut,"Pain","Mad Maggie","What'd You Expect?" and "The Hard Grind".Nice growling Bon Scott-like vocals, heavyily tuned guitar work and superb drumming.Nothing original here, but hot dang...this record ROCKS!!Dirty Looks, eat your heart out.

5 out of 5 stars I beg to differ..............2004-05-05

........with the other reviewer. We agree to disagree - at least I do! Pain is THE BEST of the three Rhino Bucket releases. One of my all time favs! Bird on a Wire is one of the best songs with one of the best performances ever. Rhino Bucket doesn't need a major label. Too much red tape & great rock such as this is all but non existent these days in the mainstream. A comeback (to the mainstream) would be nice.......www.rhinobucket.com - they're working on one of their own. Horns up!

2 out of 5 stars They ran Out Of Steam...and Money...and Promotion!!!.......2004-02-22

It's such a shame that this album was not up to standards like its 2 predecesors, but there are reasons for it. One....no major Label support, its on a indy label & the production lacks severly! Two...loss of original drummer (replaced by Simon Wright of AC/DC-DIO fame), three..loss of orginal bass player.
Its just not what the 1st two alubums..are...Hell, The second effort is no where near the Classic Quality of the 1st in my opinion..but it still rocks! if you want rhino bucket..buy the 1st..its expensive on here because its out of print..but I have ben lucky enough to find several copies at Flea Markets of all places..for $5.00 a pop.
