5 out of 5 stars Thanks for the memories.......2006-12-14

What can I say,, I rocked to this back in the day when metal was REAL metal... AND IT STILL ROOOOOOOOOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars The Proper Way To Hear Lizzy Borden.......2006-02-01

All I can say is just that. This expertly executed live set from the band during it's early days is the perfect way to hear Lizzy Borden as they were intended to be heard. From song to song, there is more conviction in the performances, sturdier rhythmic attack & Lizzy's vocals are flawless. Highlights are "Flesheater", "Save Me" & "Psychopath"...but the real winner here is track #16.

One of the two studio cuts added at the concert's conclusion, "Dead Serious" is perhaps the most electrifying moment of the band's entire recorded body of work. The dynamics in this song are perfectly arranged & if the entire bridge following the guitar break doesn't floor you in it's unchained intensity, you must be dead. Don't believe me? This purchase is totally justifiable for this song alone. Buy it & find out for yourself...

3 out of 5 stars A cool live album........2000-05-20

This is a pretty enjoyable live album from Lizzy Borden. Their energy is just as good live as it is in the studio. My favorite songs from this collection are "Give 'Em the Axe" and "American Metal." The two songs that they recorded in the studio, "Dead Serious (Wake Up)" and "Time to Die," are okay. The rest of the live songs aren't bad either. Worth a listen.

5 out of 5 stars Great Live Album.......2000-04-16

All the classics are here and performed very well. Forget the best of because it leaves essential songs off, get this one now!

5 out of 5 stars A KILLER LIVE ALBUM FROM A VERY UNDERRATED METAL BAND.......2000-03-11

Lizzy Borden is one of my absolute favorite metal bands and because of this, I felt a need to write. To begin with, spectacular doesn't even begin to sum up this recording. One of the most underrated metal bands in history, Lizzy Borden went all out for their fans and that determination and devotion is evident on the disc. Like the previous reviewer stated, they DO sound a bit like early Iron Maiden, but along with the brilliant technical guitar work and melodies, they manage to instill a darkly fun sense of gory glee with their horror film and pulp novel-like lyrics. I originally bought this on vinyl around 1988 and it sounded great then. On CD, it's an unbelievable live experience. It is a MUST for any member of the Lizzy Borden Axe Club and is a great primer for prospective ones.
