      5 out of 5 stars Wasted Youth.......2001-01-16

Through the Twilight, Sweet Kids, Nice and Nasty and Heartbreak America are those hard hitting rock tracks like those that are often found on Areosmith records. Injected with UK glam and a slight punk element Girl were one of the pioneers of what became known as Sleaze. Fans of the first record may also with to track down Gerry Laffy's Money & the Magic and singer Philip Lewis in Torme, Filthy Lucre and L.A Guns.

Take Me dancing and Old Dogs remain among my favourite all time songs.

      5 out of 5 stars Sheer Greed.......2001-01-16

The delicate Strawberries and Passing Clouds with a slightly funky Little Miss Anne, they just don't make records like this anymore. In the days of post punk there was Girl and Hanoi Rocks keeping the flag flying. While the follow up Wasted Youth is a little slicker this album is arguably the best glam record of the early 80's and went on to inspire many sunset strip hair bands. Less cheesy than P.Colins work with Def Lep this is UK Glam meets Areosmith or the Stones. If you like this album why not check out singer Phil Lewis's work with Torme, Filthy Lucre or his more recent solo recordings "More Purple Than Black" and Acess Denied (also as the Liberators).

Had the timing and recod company been right this band would have been bigger than GnR.

4 out of 5 stars Classic pouts and sheer pelvic joy.......2000-08-18

This is the kind of sewer rat glam rock they just don't make anymore. If you're looking for the antecedent to the hornier elements of GunsNRoses and the whole early 90s LA rock scene, look no further. Girl spliced hard rock riffing ("Hollywood Tease," subsequently redone by singer Lewis' next band LA Guns, is a brutal opener) with pouty rhythms borrowed from Aladdin-era Bowie, early Japan (whose "Adolesecent Sex" is clearly the blueprint for "Sheer Greed," down to the same engineer) and Toys-era Aerosmith. Sheer guilty pleasure. The sound is OK but could use a proper remaster; the liner notes are hack.

      5 out of 5 stars It's fondly.......1999-09-06

It's fondly! Used to I looked for CD of "GIRL" I love it

5 out of 5 stars Old school glam rock at it's finest.......1998-11-18

Before the glam image became feminine and the songs became "party-with-my-baby-on-a-Saturday-night", there was Girl. Five guys that looked great (think Sweet minus the platforms and crazy clothes) with the musical muscle to back it up. The music fused elements of Bowie with the afore-mentioned Sweet while played in the alleyways of London town. Great glam rock that still holds up today!

5 out of 5 stars An awesome album!.......2006-12-04

Sublime to the Ridiculous by Sheer Greed is an album that should have been released worldwide. It's that great. Songs like "War Baby", "Everybody Wants", "Rita's Dirty Hideaway", "First to Admit", "I Ain't Afraid" and "Blue Favors" are the standouts but the album as a whole is well worth a listen. If you like Sheer Greed, I'd also recommend checking out guitarist Gerry Laffy's 1990 release Money and the Magic. Gerry can also be found on MySpace.
