1 out of 5 stars as if the album could get any worse: voila, the censored version.......2006-10-06

This is an atrocious stain on modern music. The singer is talentless, anyone with operative ears can tell that. He sounds like a girl yet isn't. Just like New Found Glory and Rush, a bad singer ruins the band. In this case, however, everything that could go wrong has; a different singer would not fix anything. The guitar progressions are entirely lame. Don't waste your time on this piece of trash, or the unedited version for that matter. Terrible, terrible band.

1 out of 5 stars Just a small warning for the edited version.......2006-02-18

I gave the CD 5 stars because it's a great CD, musically Coheed and Cambria's best, but I have to warn anyone who wants the CD edited that, sadly you won't get it. I thought the whole point to an edited CD was to get rid of the profanity. I can tell you that's not what you'll get. I'll show you what I mean.

This is a direct quote taken from the Willing Well IV: The Final Cut: "Marked in your words I'm the joke, I'm the bastard"

Correct lyrics yes, what do you notice though? The word bastard is still left in the song and not edited out, let's look a little deeper at a quote from the same song.

"You're a selfish little _____ A selfish little _______ If I had my way I'd _______ your face in the ______."

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Why? Why leave in the profanity and cut out words that don't need censoring? Very little of the bad language is edited from this CD, but an abundance of words like: Die, Cut, Crush, Door, Kill, whore, have been removed so I don't reccomend buying the edited version. If you want this edited, you'll have to open the songs up on Audacity and do it yourself.

5 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece!.......2006-01-23

Probably one of the best CD's I have heard in the past five years. The music is incredible and the words are well written. They have a hint of Rush and a hint of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. One of my favorites off the CD is "Crossing the Frame". This one should not be missed and you won't be sorry for buying it.

5 out of 5 stars A vocal spectacle!.......2005-10-27

This just in: Claudio Sanchez is the new Santana.
Here are my thoughts on all the songs:
Keeping the blade: A classy touch Leads nicely into always and never
Always & Never:Cute vocals by Janris Sanchez the ladies love it. Very acoustic, this it the lowest I have heard Claudio sing. The last line shatters the mood and leads into the more violent
Welcome Home:There's a video for this one too. the rythm is amazing and Claudio is playing gut busting Santana style solos on a double neck gibson and harmonizing like no other
Ten speed of god's blood and burial:
If you liked 3 evils you will love this
Crossing the frame:
This one isn't really wowing, but apparently has buttloads of signifigance in the story.
Appolo 1:
pure genus it's like faint of hearts
Once upon your dead body:
Blood red summer all over again love it!
Wake up:
filler but hey they can afford it
The suffering:
There's a video
The song we have all been waitig for. This is favor house on frickin' steroids! features uncle birmy's dirty foot choir (blood red summer). the only song mixed by another dude. "you may be invited but you're not coming in" after you hear those vocals you will never have to listen to music again. It's over. There's nothing better never can be.
The Lying Lies & Dirty Secrets Of Miss Erica Court:
Long name, long lines. Soothing in every aspect
Mother May I:
I laughed at this one, it's kinda funny
Fuel for the feeding end:
"Feed little maggot..." you can't help but mosh to that. Then there's a little spanish in the background that tickles the ears pleasantly.
I- Fuel For The Feeding End
The first and last few lines are among the best in the album
III - Apollo II: The Telling Truth
Has contents from blood red summer and apollo I "Jesse bad boy" is cute and joyously melodic.
IV - The Final Cut
violence
solos that make santana die and then spin in his grave
an amazing hidden track with some nice percussion. There's a ringtone

3 out of 5 stars Metal Madness vol.2 listed under wrong name.......2006-08-23

This is actually Metal Madness Vol.2 people - honest I'm looking at my copy in front of me and it is definitely Vol.2 and yet it has the same track listing as Amazon has written down for this allegedly Vol.1 release.

So please be very careful you know what your ordering and what you want as my review is for the tracklisting above.

Actually it's the track listing is very informative and gives the potential buyer a good idea of the variety they are going to get. Lunatic Parade by Exodus and My Last Words from Megadeth are heavy metal stompers, particularly the former as it's probably the best Exodus track I've ever heard.

Elsewhere we get curios by losers (Vinnie Vincent Invasion and Vixen) but we also get a smattering of cool tracks by bands that time has passed by. Yet back in 91/92 when this came out many of these bands were on the cusp of breaking through. XYZ and Cats in Boots had both garnered good reviews for their early albums and while both drove off the highway into a cul-de-sac of nothingness the tunes proffered by those bands here show that they had their moments.

Another cool cut is Save Yourself, from the ill fated Macauley-Schenker Group revamp. Even the usually reviled King Kobra come up with a decent numbskull hardrock tune in Ready to Strike.

I can't justify more than three stars for this grab bag of goodies and not so goodies but if you want a compilation that covers a few sub genres of hard rock/metal and the opportunity to check out a few salient tracks from the likes of XYZ and Helix then pick this up cheaply.
