Great album-oriented rock album........2003-10-25
First of all I have all of leatherwolf's studio albums, so I have a good feel for their sound. Leatherwolf is a great underground 80's mellodic metal band. The way they combine their three guitars and keyboards sets them apart from other bands. Unlike their previous two self-titled albums (why they did that is beyond me), this album sounds more like arena rock. God, I wish I could've heard them play this in a huge stadium! Anyway, you can play this album from start to finish without having to skip a song. I listen to alot of 80's metal and some 90's metal and there are not too many albums you can do this with besides any Ratt or Motley Crue albums, which are in a league of their own, in my opinion. On Street Ready, there are some faster songs here as well as a couple of gems, namely the ballads: "The Way I Feel," and especially "Lonely Road." There are a couple of songs which are weaker and borderline cheezy, like Street Ready which tries to be "tuff" but isn't, and "Spirits in the Wind" which tries to be spooky or satanic but isn't. Nonetheless they aren't aweful songs if you like 80's hair metal. Taken as a whole, this album is very strong but should nonetheless appeal to any 80's metal fan.
Leatherwolf's third, final, and strongest........2003-04-03
Street Ready is Leatherwolf's third, final, and strongest album. Street Ready is powerful all the way through and is amazing. Sadly the album had poor sales in 1989 and Leatherwolf ended up being dropped from Island Records never to be heard from again, that is until the release of the live album Wide Open in 1999. Even due to poor sales, this outdoes Leatherwolf's two first confusingly self-titled albums.
1) Wicked Ways - A perfect album opener. The opening guitar is is just beyond explaination. This is easily one of the top three songs on the album.
2) Street Ready - One of the weakest, if not the weakest, on the album. Its fast and loud. Average but not great.
3)Hideaway - The best song on the album. Melodic and great. The lyrics are amazing on this track. This one had a music video.
4)Take A Chance - Fast and Furious. Great fast track.
5)Black Knight - Superb Instrumental! Leatherwolf were amazing guitarists, and this proves it!
6)Thunder - Another one of the top 3 songs on the album. This songs just sounds mean.
7)The Way I Feel - One of the weaker tracks, but still great
8)Too Much - Fast and good
9)Lonely Road - Great tune with good lyrics. Michael Oliveieri vocals really stand out here.
10) Spirits In The Wind - Perfect album closer. Melodic and great. Entire album leaves a good impression.
Tools Of Disipline (2003 Re-Master Bonus Track) - Originally only available on the live album Wide Open. The same live version is now available as a bonus track on this release. The reason the track wasn't studio recorded was for the fact is was written after the Street Ready sessions.
Black Jack (2003 Re-Master Bonus Track) - Drum Solo by Dean "Drum Machine" Roberts. Of minor interest to fans.
Alone In The Night (Japanese Pressing Bonus Track)- Also available on the super rare Return of the Living Dead Part 2 soundtrack, this is one of Leatherwolf's best songs! Get this track wereever you can. Its great!

Sound Track Out Of Time!.......2006-10-10
Aside from the opening and closing tracks (which are choral tracks of Barry Sadler's famous tune - The Ballad Of The Green Beret) - if you close your eyes - you almost feel you are in an asian flavored version of Ben Hur when listening to this sound track. No surprise given the composer - Miklós Rózsa.
All politics aside, I cannot help but be moved by the opening chorus of The Ballad Of The Green Beret - it is immensely stirring. The movie itself is like a John Wayne WW2 movie taking place in Vietnam.

A Combination of Funk and Jamming Rock n' Roll.......2001-02-07
This CD is my favorite out of the many I have. I have searched for a great rock/funk CD for a long time, and have finally found one. This CD provides me with hours of listening. GSW is a great live band that has two lead guitarists/vocalists. The sounds of GSW are similar to Phish, and the GratefulDead. Recorded in NYC, Chicago, White Plains(NY), and Fort Collins(Co). The band plays in bars, but does so greatly. They rock away with every note of their guitars. A really great band, and I am sad to see them go.
GSW's best, IMHO.......1999-08-18
Any GSW fan will tell you that you have to see them live to really understand what they're about. This CD is the next best thing. GSW's studio albums (with the exception of "RED") tend to be very polished-sounding. That's not a bad thing, but this album, being live, is much grittier, and just plain more fun. Some great jamming going on during "Snake Eyes", "Feel the PRessure", "Imogene" (which includes a Tweezer tease!), "Hellfire", and "Driving West". "Crashing Down" is one of their most intense songs, IMHO, and "Stranger" is my favorite GSW ballad. And "Hollow Frog" is just plain nutty.
Outstanding: Totally captures the live music vibe........1998-12-04
This is easily one of the best live albums put out by a band in the "jam band" genre. "Snake Eyes," "Hellfire," "Driving West" all envoke a feeling of being in a smokey bar listening to five incredibly talented musicians play off each other. 10 years together has made this band as tight as any band you've ever heard.
Almost worth it.......1998-08-24
This album comes down to two songs that are REALLY good. "Driving West", and "Feel the Pressure" I feel these two songs are indicative of the musical and song writing potential within the band. So keep that in mind. But keep this in mind too: Driving West is one of the coolest rock songs you will hear...it's your call.

My favorite album of all time!.......2001-09-07
This is the best album of all time. Every track seems to get stuck in your head and you can't help but keep a beat to it. The songs groove from mellow to rockin'. The lyrics are pure genuis and can be heart wrenching or make you smile. Buy this album.
GOOD STUFF.......1999-07-05
Best GSW CD around. this Cd has 13 awesome songs....it never gets old! similar to great bands like PHISH, the samples, GSW is a great jam band!
The best album they've made to date.......1998-12-28
If I were to make a list of my favorite GSW songs, it would include every song fom BAG. I could put this on repeat and listen to it until my stereo dies!! I highly recommend Bag for any GSW fan old or new.
