Fast Thrash!.......2006-05-10
Anvil Bitch's only release is very "80s metal," not in the pop-ish Motley Crue or Poison style but in the speed-thrash-metal realm closer to early Mercyful Fate meets 1982-Metallica. I'm kind of biased toward liking this band/album because 1. I love this era of music and 2. I'm from Philadelphia and remember when these guys were in their prime--However, this is a fast and furious thrash metal album and it rocks. The production on the CD (New Renaissance release) sounds dated and weak... but that's how things sounded back in 1986, and this is no remaster this is just the original version in CD format. What it lacks in sound-quality though it makes up for in energy and technial musicianship. The guitarist SHREDS, and despite every song being based on open E pedals the blinding speed--especially the drums and guitar-- is at times jaw-dropping. If you're into 80s heavy metal this CD is worth checking out. (Note Anvil Bitch's CD is available new directly from New Renaissance, and is not out of print as of May 2006).
GOOD ALBUM --- But An INFRINGING PRODUCT --- Not Official.......2005-11-30
ANVIL BITCH's one and only album is a classic --- there is no doubt about that. However, beware of any releases on the MAZE/KRAZE label --- they infringe on copyrights because they wre manufactured without the copyright owner's permission!!! The only official CDs, LPs, or cassettes came out on NEW RENAISSANCE RECORDS. In the late 1980s and early 1990s MAZE approached NEW RENAISSANCE about granting a license --- but it is my understanding that because MAZE already owed New Renaissance money --- New Renaissance would not grant a license. Shortly thereafter, this CD came out. New Renaissance innitiated legal action, but, before the papers could be served --- MAZE/KRAZE was out of business. Anyway --- there is no need to pay big bucks for this product because it is available officially --- unless you like collecting bootlegs and other rarities --- then that's cool, too.
This album, however, is worth having. The song MAGGOT INFESTATION is alone worth the price of the CD!
Really good album, they are so underrated........2005-06-11
This is a butt kicking album. Thrash metal to the core. Gary has one of the most awesome voices and JP is a way underrated great guitar player. and Dave rocks on bass, and Chuck S. noone plays drums like him. This is a great album. I wish there was more stuff out there, with these guys. You rock guys.

Product Description
Debut album from Philladelphia-based act. During the 1980s Anvil Bitch often opened the show for national touring act. Their debut "Rise To Offend" gained the band national acclaim, but the group took to in-fighting about their direction, members, and goals, and never released a second album. This CD is from a limited edition and is numbered.

underatted album, .......2007-06-27
This album is a great album, it is very under rated, Anvil Bitch should have received more air time and they needed a better manager. Very metallica/overkill like. Gary's vocals are superb, JP as awesome as ever on guitar and Chuck, hey it doesnt get better than him on drums, and Dave of course a master of bass. I play this album often when i dj on voltradio and people like it and want more. a must hear, buy this album.
