Customer Reviews:
MADNESS that this band didn't get HUGE.......2004-03-18
The Lords of the New Church should have been huge. The 80's were a bad place to be a rock band (unless you were IRS labelmates The Police or U2) as demonstrated by the lack of success this album did back in 1984. The original production by Chris Tsangarides was tinny and actually gave the listener a massive headache. This release has the bass lifted in the mix and what do we get? A beautiful album meant to be played real LOUD. The Lords mixed punk, pop, and metal perfectly and somehow didn't get to the top of the chart thanks to fans of Kajagoogoo and Haircut 100 and whoever else was getting hits at the time.
GOD BLESS STIV, BRIAN, DAVE, AND NICKY!
You guys were great and this album is testament.
Punks Tryin to play Metal.......2004-01-30
This is the worst of the 3 efforts by a great band of punk icons.
From what I know even the Lords weren't very pleased.
They were hoping to change with the times and make some money in the heavy metal market instead of doing what they do best. The production is really the worst part of it all.
I think this is also the remastered version of Method to Our Madness which is even worse. As for the other reviewer, StevenMarque sounds nothing like the Lords and more like Cookie Monster. Shame on you! there are 2 new singers in the Lords and Steven is not one of them....(singer)
Start the Madness.......2003-12-26
The Lords at their zenith. The last IRS record by the band, it moves more into heavy metal figures sonically and psuedo satanist imagery lyrically. This one is most like the new 2003 incarnation of the band fronted by StevenMarque; and you can really see Stiv's influence on him on tracks like KISS OF DEATH, DO WHAT THOU WILT and SEDUCER. Like any other LORDS album, a meaningful masterpiece and certainly significant theosophically, against the backdrop of most 80's vibrant/vapid offerings.

Method.......2006-02-08
Into hip-hop, west coast rap, independent, underground? You should definitely check out Method to the Madness! Original beats and crazy flows get you caught up in the mix. My personal favorites include "Feel The High," "Creepin'," "Standing Still," and "My Way," but overall, it's well worth the price!

Album Description
Retrospective Best Of compiled by notorious dubster the Mad Professor himself and features artists such as Massive Attack, The Orb & Jamiroquai. His world renowned genius makes this set not just a must-have for reggae fans but a great intro to dub for all. Trojan. 2005.
Album Details
Digitally Remastered Anthology of One of the Leading Producers in Dub Reggae's Second Generation. A Disciple of Lee "Scratch" Perry, his "Dub Me Crazy" Albums Helped Dub Make the Transition Into the Digital Age When Electronic Productions Started to Take Over Mainstream Reggae in the '80s. His Space-age Tracks Not Only Made Use of New Digital Technology, but Often Expanded Dub's Sonic Blueprint, Adding More Elements and Layers of Sound Than his Forebears Typically Did. In the Mid-'90s, He Returned to the Basics, Debuting a More Retro-sounding Style on the Black Liberation Dub Series. Additionally, He Ran his Own Studio and Label, Ariwa, which was Home to a Stable of Vocalists (With an Emphasis on Lovers Rock and Conscious Roots Reggae) and Some of the Finest British Reggae Productions of the Era. As his Reputation Grew, He Became a Remixer of Choice for Adventurous Rock and Techno Acts, Most Notably Revamping Massive Attack's Entire Second Album "no Protection".
Customer Reviews:
NICE.......2005-09-07
This review is intended for DUB HEADS who prefer their dubs
to be VOCAL-FREE. Listen...the majority of tracks on this
double-CD HAVE vocals...so why do I give it five stars?
Because those dubs which are vocal-free are excellent.
I was able to locate 3 such tracks on CD-1 and 5 such tracks
on CD-2. Judging solely on the basis of these 8 tracks...
the music is a no-brainer 5 stars. All these 8 selections are great, and some are lengthy (like the Orb track) so you do get your money's worth in terms of time. Mad Professor's best dubs are deeply rootsy with touches of electronica and, yes, madness.
So find the 8 great tracks...and dig it!!!

Customer Reviews:
Last Stand.......2006-10-28
Released in 1992, Method to the Madness was the final studio album from Canadian rockers Killer Dwarfs. On this album, the band continued their Ratt meets Quiet Riot party metal style, with a bit more emphasis on power ballads and melodies, perhaps in hopes of capitalizing on the Steelheart/Firehouse/Slaughter power ballad trend going on at the time. The result is a slightly more commercial Killer Dwarfs album.
Unfortunately for the band, there was another musical trend waiting in the wings. Method to the Madness was released just as a sea of flannel clad grunge bands was taking over radio and MTV, all but eliminating the "hair metal" genre. It's not all that surprising that Killer Dwarfs would call it a day soon after the album's release.
Method to the Madness is hardly original, but it remains a fun album from a fun band, and is likely to please most hair metal/80's rock fans.
