Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars great rock-n-roll!!!.......2006-08-19

I have not received this item as of yet. From what I remember this was an excellent hard rock album(cd, oops!)

5 out of 5 stars Another great album by The Toys!.......2006-01-11

I remember waiting for this album to come out because these guys were local in Austin, TX. and I could not only buy it but go see them live whenever I wanted to. I'm sure certain songs were played live before they found their way to this album. But overall, this album is great. I remember when this and Dangerous Toys (1st album) were all I had by these guys. I really like all four albums very well.

Favorite songs: Gunfighter, Gimme No Lip, Sticks And Stones, Best of Friends, Sugar, Leather & The Nail, Angel N.U., and Line 'Em Up.

1 out of 5 stars The beginning of the end.......2005-07-09

My first experience with Dangerous Toys was the song "Teasin', Pleasin'". I loved it, bought the debut cd and was blown away. What an awesome debut album...I'd rate it four stars. Then, I found this Dangerous Toys song called "Demon Bell" on a soundtrack album. Wow! What a great song! I couldn't wait for the follow up album to be released. As soon as "Hellacious Acres" hit the stands, I was there with money in hand. The anticipation was tremendous! It stunk. Terrible. Complete flop. Wasted money. My head was hung low. I have tried hard to like this album. Many times I've given it another chance. Why? You ask? Because it simply can't be as bad as I remember. And everytime I'm reminded of how terrible it is. To make matters worse, years later, I bought the "Pissed" cd. They got me again!! How stupid am I? It wasn't bad enough to be duped once...no...I had to go and buy another terrible cd from these guys. I guess the reason the got me twice is because I couldn't forget how great the debut album was and I just figured maybe "Hellacious Acres" was just a hellacious nightmare. Turns out that Dangerous Toys is just hellaciously bad.

4 out of 5 stars Dangerously Underrated.......2004-04-10

I listened to these guys first album and I thought it was alright. For some reason I put off listening to this album for a while; probably a fear of disappointment. What I got when I finally heard this album was hard hittin Hair Metal at its finest. Pretty much every song on here is good, some better than others. Gunfighter, Gimme' No Lip, Sticks and Stones, Line 'Em Up, and Gypsy (Black-N-Blue Valentine) are the best songs on here. The major downfall of this album is the cover of Feel Like Makin' Love. I don't even like the original version very much. Best of Friends didn't fit too well with me either.

Even with that, the album still rocks. Sticks and Stones should be the anthem of all real rock fans. It's too bad that more people do not know about this album.

5 out of 5 stars Edges out debut.......2004-03-15

In my opinion this album is better than the debut.
It's has a dirty rock'n roll feel which the debut only showed signs of.
1. Gunfighter - So good. No better way to start an album
2. Gimme No Lip - Outstanding rocker
3. Stick & Stones - Excellent. Great riffs and raw attitude.
4. Best Of Friends - Good ballad.
5. On Top - Great riff. This song oozes with sex & Rock'n Roll. About a girl who likes it on top, if you get it.
6. Sugar, Leather & The Nail - One of my favs. Greatest chorus ever.
7. Angel NU - Some other reviews here kinda bashed this song. I have to say that this bluesy beast is perhaps the most impressive. Great solos. It's a bit different than the other songs on the album.
8. Feel Like Makin' Love - Bad Company cover. They do it justice.
9. Line 'em Up - This was one of the singles from the album. Not my fav, but very catchy.
10. Gypsy (Black 'n Blue Valentine) - The most polished song. Not bad, but one of the best.
11. Bad Guy - Good, rockin' to the point. Concludes the most underrated album by the most underrated band.Buy it.
