The Best Band You've Never Heard Of.......2004-12-23

The Big F is one of those bands who never got the recognition they deserved. Composed of two former members of eighties standout Berlin (The Big F's drummer and singer/ bass player), plus a frequently replaced guitar player, these guys wrote and played with such passion, aggression and integrity its hard to believe their pop star background. The music they played often used different time signatures between the instruments, utilizing 3/4 time in countless creative and heavy varieties. The bombastic attack of the drummer and relentless thudding bass merge in lock-step groove after groove, always propelling the the urgency of the song and creating dynamic interest in the performances. Whenever I play The Big F for someone who is not familiar with them, they can't believe that they have never heard of them. Then they beg me to burn a disk. This music is absolutely worth tracking down; in fact, it should be required listening for anyone who appreciates great, dynamic and heavy rock and roll. The Big F is the real thing.
