5 out of 5 stars kix, finally a good "hair metal"band.......2006-03-09

Nah,not even hair metal.Just a good band.
Growing up around Baltimore, Kix were the band of the era.
I heard "Same Jane" on the radio the other day,not only does it hold up, I cranked it all the way up.
And this is coming from a "jamband" fan.
Kix wasnt about the trend and hype, they were about good rock music, and they delivered.
They never got the credit they deserved, looking back at the "hair metal" trend, I'm glad they avoided getting lumped in,looked over and thrown into that category.

5 out of 5 stars Oh Man, is this great or What!!!.......2005-12-21

Back in the days (were the 80's really that long ago?) My friend introduced me to Kix 1st lp (yes, vinyl) and Cool Kids and I loved them so, but lost track of Kix after those and only peripherally got into Midnight Dynamite.. Flash foreward to me updating my music collection and getting all the Kix cds and this is the best!! I put it on and its fresh and new but still makes me feel like that long haired knucklhead cruisin' the strip 20 years ago. Boom out of the bat, Hot Wire just kicks your butt with it's super groove and can Steve scream it out or what? Bump the La La and Heebee Jeebee Crush kick hard and fast. But Pants on Fire (liar liar) is the best tune on this infectously fun and funky metal masterpiece. This is not Dio or Iron Maiden, this is catchy good times party metal, and it Rocks just as hard!

3 out of 5 stars Wayne's World.......2005-01-31

I first heard the song "Cold Chills" in Wayne's World and I could've sworn that it was BIlly Corgan singing. It's the scene right before Garth breaks into "Foxy Lady". Crazyness.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best Rock Albums I own.......2003-07-31

This is a real rocking album
The video to Same Jane has to be seen - its a classic of the good old days of heavy rock and skimpily clad girl (the girl was amazing)- music was good too!!

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums of all time........2001-12-29

It's not very often you hear rock 'n' roll done the way Kix did it. The band's sound is reminiscent to AC/DC in some ways but they are most certainly not a copy-cat band such as groups like Rhino Bucket were; they have a sound of their own.

'Blow My Fuse' (released in '88) was Kix's breakthrough record which gave the band the exposure it deserved by MTV and caught people's attention. I like this album quite a bit but it does not come close to Kix's best record ever (in my opinion), 'Hot Wire'. This is one of those cds that you can listen from beginning to end without ever thinking of skipping one of the tracks. The sound quality is worlds apart from Kix's other records (they really could benefit from a digital remastering) so there is no problem in this department. 'Hot Wire' rocks hard but was never paid its due because by the time the record label released the album in '91, the radio stations and MTV had moved on with pop (New Kids on the Block), rap (MC Hammer, Kris Kross) and was moving past hard rock and glam metal.

The best tunes on this disc are, by far, the title track "Hot Wire" which is magnificent (probably Kix's BEST hard rockin' track ever in my opinion), "Rock & Roll Overdose" and "Girl Money". The musicianship is fantastic--the guitars, bass, drums, lead vocalist Steve Whiteman's voice is great throughout--and if you like real rock 'n' roll but have never even HEARD of Kix, believe me: they rock! And to top it all off, there is even a wonderful ballad "Tear Down the Walls" which everyone can enjoy when you are not in the supercharged rock mode.

I can assure you, there is not ONE track you will want to skip on 'Hot Wire'; this is one of the best albums I have ever bought in my life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: I cannot recommend an album any higher than this one; it is fantastic.

5 out of 5 stars Exceeded my hopes and expectations.......2007-06-20

Blue Voodoo's last CD, "The Storm", was a solid recording with some exceptional tracks. "Hot Wire (My Heart)" manages to up the ante with end-to-end passion both in writing and performing. They certainly have hit their stride, or better put, their groove. Forget Idol, these people are the real deal - talent, and the heart to put together an album like this. Get this CD, and if you get the chance, thank them for continuing to make this kind of music.

5 out of 5 stars WAIT! GREAT ALBUM BUT SAVE YOUR MONEY!.......2006-02-11

I'm a huge glenn hughes fan and didn't think this would be as good but like with dio in sabbath and vinnie moore in UFO, i was wrong again. The singing on this album is amazing and the guitar play is something else. Mel galley is right up there with his whitesnake replacement in john sykes as a horribly underrated guitar player and complete musician. After seeing the price of this album, sampling it on amazon, reading the reviews, and finally listening to HOLD ON (GREAT CD ALSO) i knew it was worth a good try and it definately was.
DON'T PAY 1 TO 200 DOLLARS FOR THIS NO MATTER HOW OUT OF PRINT OR HOW GOOD IT IS, people think that stone fury's first cd is worth the same price (good cd but no way!) There are so many different web sites that u can download this cd from in its entirety. Just google it and you'll see a lot of spots where u can get the album for just 5 or 10 cents a song. U may be taken to a russian based web site to do it but trust me it's safe and secure and incase u wanna be safe just get a gift card from your bank and put like 10 bucks on it and charge that. Sorry to all those trying to make an honest 100 dollars but i'm sorry no cd is worth that much.

5 out of 5 stars trapeze hot wire .......2006-01-19

I bought this album back when i seen trapeze open for the rolling stones in 1975 at the cotton bowl in dallas the show was montrose opening act second on was trapeze third on was the eagles without joe walsh then the stones
after getting home i ran out to gibsons discount center and bought hot wire by trapeze i never hear meduse or you are the music we're just the band so this was my real introduction to the band
from the opening track thru the last track it is a killer record but there is no way i will pay 100 dollars for a cd i guess i will have to wait for it to be reissued because this is a record i would buy in a newyork second please some record company exect get this reissued on cd a.s.a.p

5 out of 5 stars their finest hour............2005-04-02

my list of most expensive & rare cd's are as follows:
rare earth / live in concert
frank sinatra / she shot em down
              savoy brown / savage return
              trapeze / hot wire
how sad that these cannot be bot for under 100.00. you would think someone at a record company would notice these things. typical.

this is a great band at what i believe to be their finest hour! post glenn hughes was different to be sure, but if you a fan of music, this is it. it has everything. the guitars are solid, the drumming & bass playing-outstanding, the vocals-soulfull. side one, all in the key of A, just a great non stop rock show. side two, that good brand of 70's funk rock. a really really great album by a band that never got it's props! if you can afford it, buy it!

5 out of 5 stars Shake Yo Ass To It!!!!!!!!.......2004-05-09

Another good one by Trapeze. I still have the 8 track (yep)album, cassette & now the CD. One of my favorite all time songs is Midnight Flyer.

              5 out of 5 stars Essential Trapeze.......2004-03-05

This may not be what TRAPEZE was all about, but this is, by far, the best of their output. I would put this at near the top of the list of stuff that deserves to be re-issued on CD. Most of the album flows from one hard rocking song to the next as if it were a concept piece. Here it once, and these songs will haunt you for years to come.
