Awakening the World is not for the faint-hearted, and most definitely not for the cynical. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lost Horizon dream the metal dream with absolute abandon, each of the four members taking a moniker as grand as their musical ambition. Thus we have vocalist Ethereal Magnanimus, drummer Preternatural Transmogrifyer, bassist Cosmic Antagonist, and guitarist Transcendental Protagonist (known to their families as Daniel, Christian, Martin, and Wojtek, respectively), garbed and painted as if they are countrymen of Conan the Barbarian. Opening in classic style with the sound of crashing thunder, the album quickly becomes a rush of thudding drums and melodic, chiming guitars, often overlaid with soaring, vaguely Oriental solos.
In this, Lost Horizon recall Rainbow at their fastest, and midperiod Iron Maiden, with Magnanimus matching Bruce Dickinson's crazy vocal range, particularly with his pyrotechnic shrieking during "Sworn in the Metal Wind." Lyrically, the band stands for honor, truth, and personal freedom, and will brook no nonsense from faithless women ("Take some under your wings, but she must kiss the ring!"), much like their Cimmerian hero. Though they lack the menace and bloody grandeur of Bathory--and Robert E. Howard, for that matter--Lost Horizon are gratifyingly convinced in their immortal quest, as a band formerly known as Highlander should be. --Dominic Wills

Another great trip down the MFU memory lane.......2005-10-19
Volume 2 (comprised of 2 CDs) is another first rate compilation of the series' original music and not to be missed by U.N.C.L.E. fans. The liner notes are wonderful and add a lot to ones appreciation of the music.
My only problem is that THE CDs ARE COPY PROTECTED! Considerable work is needed to get the music onto your iPod, if you really want the music in your mp3 collection. This is a major hassle and a surprise, since the first set in the series was not copy protected.
The best of the three Double CDs ORIGINAL soundtrack release.......2005-07-12
Many of us have always thought The Man From UNCLE had the best music for a TV series ever, and this three double CD release confirms this. Wow! I'd be just happy with one CD, but having SIX (three double CDs packages) is absolutely out of this world, I mean, a lifetime wait come true.
Indeed, this is an unbelievable collection of three double CDs packages with the complete series soundtrack, and I mean the complete music, not a tune is missing.
And this is the ORIGINAL Man From Uncle music. Let me stress the point: this is the four years ORIGINAL soundtrack with the original recordings as they were heard throughout the series, not a no-name orchestra doing personal versions of the stuff. The audio transfer is very, very good, the music from late episodes is even in stereo.
Each individual CD carries over 70 minutes of music. All in all there you have the four TV seasons main titles and all, absolutely all of TMFU unforgetable music.
This is not a chronological release, meaning, all CDs have a mix of music from all four TV seasons. Volume 1 is heavier on early TV seasons stuff, fans of Jerry Goldsmith will love it. Those of us who prefer what Gerald Fried and later Richard Shores did with TMFU music, then volume 2 is mandatory. If you are a fan, you can't miss any of these six CDs. However if buying all three double packages is too much for you, you must go with Volume 2, no questions asked. Volume three is the weakest of them as it brings "suites" and a whole CD with "The Girl From Uncle" soundtrack, but you have a bonus "Open Channel D" beeper.
Each package is gorgeous, each with a glossy color booklet with extensive liner notes with details on how each tune was written to a specific TV series episode and how it was used onwards. You have bios on the composers, on how the recordings were made, even an overview on how many instruments were available in each of the years the music was recorded.
So, throw away your Hugo Montenegro Man From Uncle CD, this is the REAL thing.

Album Description
A flourishing of Calypso creativity, a dramatic period in Trinidad's history and an audio engineer inspired these exciting tracks, originally released on Cook Records between 1956 and 1962. Emory Cook used innovative recording techniques to capture the active interplay between calypsonians and their audiences. We hear classic song-duels between calypso legends like The Mighty Sparrow and Lord Melody, lively steel band processions, and a wide range of provocative calypso songs about life, love and politics. Live and studio recordings from Trinidad. 32 page booklet presents notes, song texts, Cook discography, bibliography. 67 minutes.
Customer Reviews:
A journey in time and space.......2005-09-07
I ordered this CD after hearing a BBC Radio 4 documentary about the pioneering sound recording engineer Emory Cook earlier this year. The extract played was of Lord Melody singing "Boo boo man" in a calypso tent in 1956. I had never heard any recorded version of the song before as far as I knew, but I recognized it straight away and was overcome by a wave of nostalgia, because my mother used to make me and my sister laugh by singing it when we were children in the 1950s. I suppose she had heard the Harry Belafonte version on the radio.
Anyway, I was very happy to receive the CD, and enjoy listening to it. The exceptional quality of the sound recording in a "live" situation transports the listener in time and space, and you can imagine yourself as part of the audience in a calypso tent in Trinidad in the 1950s. The 30-page accompanying booklet is also very informative, including bibliography, discography, and the words to all the songs. Altogether an excellent product, of the quality one expects from the Smithsonian Institution.
An Ear-Opening Album.......2004-01-10
Be warned: before I purchased this album I had little interest in calypso. Afterward, I was a complete convert, and have been amassing a collection of historical calypso albums ever since. This isn't the somewhat sanitized Harry Belafonte calypso you may associate with the genre -- it's gritty, political, filled with social commentary ... a rich expression of Trinidadian life and culture.
The remastered sound quality of the recordings is excellent, easily the best I've heard. Buy this album by all means, but be prepared to discover that you've developed an insatiable addiction which will keep you shopping for more.
Full of energy!.......2003-12-18
This CD is a remarkable achievement, both musically and technically.
Musically, this is the real stuff--calypso music recorded on location in Trinidad by Emory Cook in the mid-1950s. It is vibrant, exciting music, reminiscent of early jazz. Although the lyircs to these pieces often critique very real social and political problems at the times ("Federation" and "No, Doctor, No"), others are bursting with humor ("Booboo Man"). Still, I find that this CD always puts me in a good mood. It's a great disc to pull out on a dull rainy day to spice things up a bit.
Technically, this CD is nothing short of amazing. These are not your typical historical field recordings. Emory Cook founded his own label, Cook Records (under which these titles were originally released) to show off his technical expertise in sound recording. These recordings are the ultimate in hi-fi! And, they are among the earliest stereo recordings. Long before it was possible to capture a stereo signal in one groove on records, Cook developed a type of record that required a double tonearm to track two separate grooves on different parts of the record. Each groove contained one channel of musical information, so when played simultaneously on a properly modified turntable, they provided the listener a true stereo recording-this in the early 1950s. The folks at Smithsonian Folkways (which acquired the Cook label in the early 1990s) have done an outstanding job remastering these stereo recordings for CD, and the result is a very enjoyable listening experience.
The accompanying booklet is also excellent, with extensive notes about the musicians and selections, printed lyrics, and photographs. Definitely recommended.
Gangsta Calypso.......2003-07-27
This commercial release from the Smithsonian vaults a la the Cook Collection is a treasurehouse of some of the 50's hottest. There is a good sense of the spontaneous Calypso Tent experience, which as the magazine blurb above points out, was Cook's recording forte.
But we can easily forget that Calypso originated as a music to accompany stick fighting. Bongo Man (Bongo Night) by Wrangler might remind us of this with its frantic beat. But the lyrics on two of these songs is noteworthy. In Carnival Celebration, Small Island Pride makes himself out to be a Carnival hoodlum "To show you I aim for trouble, on mih right hand is mih steel knuckle." He goes on to tell us he's got an icepick in his left pocket and a fighting stick under his jacket. This guy is armed to the teeth and by the end of the song, he declares his willingness to die. In fact, he says, "I done pay off mih lawyer, so he could pay off mih undertaker."
Indeed, there were such characters stalking the Carnival back then and we find more and more of them the further we go back into Carnival's rebellious past. We can trace fighting songs all the way back to Africa but they have never occurred in such great profusion as in corporate Hip Hop.
The other unfriendly, but side-splitting, tune on here is the Picong Duel between Sparrow and his then boss, Melody, who ran the Tent that Sparrow sang in. The extemporaneous insults fly and you can decide who wins. Here's another pan African trend that's shown up in today's Hip Hop. The parallel is heightened further by the fact that this is not quite a friendly duel.
Because Sparrow would eventually leave Melody's employ and over the next few years would release a string of insulting tunes about Melody, among them Madame Dracula about Melody's wife. Check that one out on Mighty Sparrow volume 4. On that same CD, the last verse in Simpson (the Funeral Agency Man) also takes a potshot at Melody's ugliness.
No, the beef between these two guys, from all I've heard as a boy in Trinidad, was quite real. But no one ever got physically hurt.
There's nothing better than this........2002-02-19
As a calypso lover, this is the best. The performance of Lord Melody and the calypso King Mighty Sparrow on this album is something else.

Jewish spiritual songs by jazz trio.......2007-07-08
"Awakening from Above" is an ecstatic collection of Eastern European Jewish music. His luxuriant improvisations seem to come from a place that is so intimate and soulful that it makes you blush to listen to them. Eagle and Whitney contribute minimalist accompaniment - a few drum beats here, a bass drone there, allowing Statman to swoop and dive and soar. His improvisation on Reb Michel Zlotchover's "Deveykus Niggun" is a lengthy free jazz treatment of a traditional 18th century niggun (song for cleaving to God.) Whitney's bass growls in the bottom and Eagle provides light cymbal taps while Statman rhapsodizes with rich, coppery trills and runs. It's music that is not so much listened to as absorbed through the pores.

Another beautiful Gift .......2006-11-29
I have been an avid listener of Andy Statman's music. Perhaps because I love music that is both spiritual and also posseses a display of a musician's depth both as a musician and one in which the feelings and emotions of the musician can be shared with the listener. I feel Andy has been growing and evolving as a musician in presenting quality music. His last 5 recordings on the clarinet show that growth and this CD is no exception. He plays w/ a trio and in some places solo. This is powerful music and we are all the better for it. This is his interpretation of Hasidic Niggunim (wordless melodies) and there are moments when he sticks close to the melody and other places where he creates space to improvise and reachs for something not yet expressed in sound. Please listen to this and enjoy.

Beautiful music........2007-01-10
I sat back with the lights dimmed and a cup of hot coffee and enjoyed the beautiful haunting music of years gone by. Memories abound.
5 stars for performance, 4 stars due to omissions.......2006-08-29
Why doesn't this get a perfect five stars?
Simple reason.
The producers at Silva, for wahtever reason, decided to cut down their SHE suites and Hands of the Ripper suites.
On the previous Hammer releases, "Draculas - Classic Horror Films", released in 1993, recorded in 1989, they had seven additional minutes of "Hands of the Ripper" that could have been included on this set.
Additionally, The Devil Rides Out: Film Music of James Bernard, released in 1997, recorded in 1995 and 1996 had about a minute more of additional music from SHE, PLUS about seven minutes worth of suites from Quatermass and X: The Unknown.
Both discs in this new re-issue round out at around 68 minutes, so there was room for some of these omissions.
Silva Screen gets big kudos for a reissuing these recordeings in the remastered HDCD format, but I don't understand these omissions. In fact, one of the tracks included, "Vampire Hunter" isn't even from a Hammer film, and its the only recording on this collection not on previous Silva CD's.
Again, 5 stars for the performances, the 1989 performances with Neil Richardson and the Philharmonia are fantastic. (Dracula, Dracula: Prince of Darkness, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, Taste the Blood of Dracula, Hands of the Ripper, Vampire Circus.)
Additionally, The Westminster Philharmonic under the baton of Kenneth Alwyn do an excellent job as usual (Kiss of the Vampire, Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, She, THe Abominable Snowman, Quatermass II and Curse of the Werewolf.) Finally, the City of Prague Philharmonic, who get a bad rap more often than they deserve round out hte album and IMHO, deliver the goods, under the trusty batons of Paul Bateman (Scars of Dracula, Frankenstein Created Woman, additionally, Bateman also plays the piano solo on Kiss of the Vampire.) and Nic Raine (The Devil Rides Out, One Million Years BC, When Dinosuars Ruled the Earth, Creatures The World Forgot, The Vampire Hunter)
I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.
Much thanks to producers David Wishart, Eric Tomlinson and James Fitzpatrick and recording engineers Mike Ross-Trevor, John Luard Timperley and Jan Holzner for contributing to these fine historical film music recordings.
"Hammer & Silva...raises the hair on the back of your neck".......2002-04-09
Silva Screen takes us on tour through the castles of Transylvania with a collection of
outstanding scores from James Bernard on Disc One ~ "DRACULA" (1958)..."KISS OF
THE VAMPIRE" (1964)..."DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS"
(1966)..."FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN" (1967)..."THE DEVIL RIDES OUT"
(1968)..."DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE" (1968)..."THE SCARS OF
DRACULA" (1970)..."TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA" (1970)...even though the
blood doesn't flow as easily in "KISS OF THE VAMPIRE", the score from Bernard is
seductive, sensual to say the least for "creatures of the night", masked ball scene blends
atmospheric trance-masquerade themes, intoxicating main title is hauntingly mesmerizing with
"VAMPIRE RHAPSODY", just listen to the piano solo from our character in the film Carl
Ravna (Barry Warren), son of Dr. Ravna (Noel Willman) along with daughter Sabena Ravna
(Jacqueline Wallis), a cult of vampires in early 20th century Bavarian, praying on a young
honeymoon couple...Bernard's rhapsody captures the listeners heart and BLOOD!
Let's look at Disc Two with the other Hammer themes and their composers ~ "THE
ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN" (1957-Humphrey Searle)..."QUATERMASS II"
(1957-James Bernard)..."CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF" (1960-Benjamin
Frankel)..."CURSE OF THE MUMMY'S TOMB" (1964-Carlo Martelli)..."SHE"
(1965-James Bernard)..."ONE MILLION YEARS B.C." (1966-Mario
Nascimbene)..."WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH" (1969-Mario
Nascimbene)..."HANDS OF THE RIPPER" (1971-Christopher Gunning)..."VAMPIRE
CIRCUS" (1971-David Whitaker)..."VAMPIRE HUNTER" (2000-James
Bernard)...difficult as it may be, there is a stand out ~ "THE CURSE OF THE
WEREWOLF", fine direction from Terence Fisher (director) with an outstanding cast Oliver
Reed (Leon-the Werewolf), Clifford Evans (Alfredo), Yvonne Romain (Servant Girl) and
Catherine Feller (Christina), Hammer's departure from the old stereotype of the beast is
refreshing, Reed's performance as the tormented sole, from man to wolf is touching, the score
by Ben Frankel is tense building at it's best, to say the least, setting the tone and mood for the
transformation with counterpoints is stimulating, inclusive orchestration development for what
lies ahead during a full moon.
Without a doubt the highlight pick hands down is "SHE", composer James Bernard gives of
himself without question, the SUITE takes the orchestra into lilting melodic exercises with
percussion chiming in, the harmonies are hypnotic blends of textured fabric, listen as The
Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kenneth Alwyn display stirring strings and
a solo harp run the scales in "THE ETERNAL FLAME AND THE DESTRUCTION OF
SHE", hold-fast arrangement has haunting echoes of Bernard's constant theme, with a final
beat from a drum in the percussion section.
Must make mention the cast of players that made this possible ~ The Philharmonia Orchestra,
The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, The Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra ~ and
their various conductors Kenneth Alwyn, Paul Bateman, Nic Raine and Neil
Richardson...supported by the illustrious staff from Silva Screen Records LTD ~ Reynold da
Silva (executive producer), David Stoner (associate producer), Gareth Williams (Dolby
Surround/HDCD Mastering) and of course James Fitzpatrick (compilation producer), who
has the knack of developing quality in every Silva Screen release...similar to "A History Of
Horror:From Nosferatu To The Sixth Sense" (SSD-1111/2CD Set), guaranteed to raise the
hair on the back of your neck!
Total Time: Disc One 68:01 on 14 Tracks & Disc Two 68:46 on 14 Tracks ~ Silva Screen

Music meets politics; both win.......2001-11-15
This is such a fierce, strong masterpiece, I can't understand its "limited availability." But this IS the music business, isn't it? If you know Irishman Andy Irvine from Sweeney's Men, Planxty, or Patrick Street, you've got some idea of his skill on the plucked strings, that perfectly controlled ragged voice, and his songwriting ability. Seems he likes to do albums with other people, though (the duo with Paul Brady is another masterpiece, and the best thing Brady ever did, I think). So there are precious few "Andy gets out into the spotlight" moments in recorded history. This one is for the most part a series of narrative songs with a careful lyrical wit and fine tunes and playing. Arrangements tend toward the small combo and work throughout. And this album is, in its amazing way, "telling" without trying to wave that fact in your face. Some folks discussed will be familiar (Wallenberg), some won't (polar explorers); but the picture of Sinclair Lewis on his way down is painfully spectacular. Andy records when he's ready, rarely enough, sadly. Grab this stirring, tough-minded, beautiful moment before it disappears entirely.

An album which shows us the power of Danial Heiman.......2007-05-28
This album shows the typical melodic speed metal music which I love. Especially, the third track 'Sworn in The Metal Wind'is the most attractive music in this album. People who doesn't prefer to listen metalic songs will like this song. Personally, I recommand this album and if you puchase it, you won't regret.
I can admit it, this ROCKS!.......2006-07-20
I know that I should be mocking the hell out of Lost Horizon. Their over the top, metal warrior battle music makes Manowar and Hammerfall seem tame by comparison, and the names these guys gave themselves - Etherial Magnanimus, Equilibrian Epicurius, Cosmic Antagonist, Perspicacious Protector, and Preternatural Transmogrifier - are as out there as they are senseless. These guys should be the laughing stock of metal, and definitely should not be part of my CD collection.
But God help me, I think they're awesome.
Lost Horizon is just so...METAL! Once you hear the band's all-out blistering Swedish power metal assault, you can't help but give credit where credit is due. This is not some bunch of goof-offs playing up a gimmick - Lost Horizon is an extremely talented, extremely aggressive power metal band. Cheesy lyrics and stage names aside, listening to Awakening the World makes you want to track down bands like Stratovarius and yell "Listen to this! Why don't you guys rock this hard? You're supposed to be a METAL band, remember?"
This is what power metal is supposed to sound like. You can try to dismiss them as silly. You can try to claim intellectual superiority with your Spiral Architect and Pain of Salvation CDs, but once Lost Horizon's music reaches your ears you'll know all hope is lost and you'll be raising your fist for metal like the rest of us.
But don't worry, I won't tell anyone.
impossibly great.......2006-07-08
It's hard to believe that this band ever existed or that their two records were ever made. This band is so good it is almost impossible to digest what one is hearing.
I have been listening to all genres of pop music and studying them for my whole life. Never have such poetic and inspiring, and yet genuinely metal, lyrics ever emerged from mortal pen, and these come from someone to whom English is a second language! Never has any band I have ever heard achieved the solid platinum levels of performance and production, from every single musician on every single note, heard on the two Lost Horizon discs, and these are their first and second albums! Most of all, never, never has anyone come up with these kind of dramatic and orginal song arrangements. These are compositions for the ages. They must be heard and studied to be appreciated, and the more you hear them, the better they get.
Lost Horizon doesn't just awaken the world. They shame the world with this level of artistic genius. This music makes the rest of us look at ourselves in the mirror and ask, why has no one ever done it like THIS before?
If you don't get both of these albums and blow your speakers playing them over and over at full volume, you deserve the unenlightened state in which you are living. Hear Lost Horizon and hear the pure, good and beautiful truth, if you are capable of appreciating it, humans!
Also check review on second album.......2006-01-01
When you listen to the song "Welcome Back" how many stars can you give?? Fantastic band. You have to envy the singer though...This guy must be singing from when he was in his mother's belly !!!! FANTASTIC VOICE, SUPERB DEBUT
Moreover, the guy below me who comments on the singer leaving this band for a more mainstream one says it correctly. In Lost horizon the singer spits his guts and soul out!!! Some of the songs I listened to in Crystal Eyes was so so. How can you leave a band with 2 fantastic albums and go to another just for the money beats me...
If you listen to a song or two from this album you will run to buy it. It is worth it. While I am thinking alot of buying the crystal eyes album just for the sake of Daniel H.
Great music with a greater purpose.......2005-12-26
I'm glad people give Lost Horizon great reviews, but the reviews that I have read seem to miss, and even mock (unintentionally), the message this band is spreading, which is obvious once you read the lyrics. They believe in being the best you possibly can be, mentally, spiritually, physically, socially, etc etc. It is about the power of will and how, when wielded correctly, it can help you to overcome all trials and tribulations in life. It is also a cry for a lifestyle based on chivalry and honor, where it's due - not blindly passed to authorities who demand it. The pure magical essence is there for all who seek it, and both of this band's albums stand as a bastion for the souls who truly seek freedom, not a fearful oppression from illogical religions. For those too weak to accept complete control of their potential will and actions, you can still find joy in the utterly brutal display of passion and spirit wreaked upon mundane ears through these significant albums.
Daniel, this "amazing" vocalist everyone speaks of, has left the band, more or less, to play a more mainstream $$$ grabbing style of metal. Just listen to him sing on Crystal Eye's new album and you'll hear a lack of devotion, but at least some spirit is still there. Or you can try his new band, Heeb (don't ask), where you'll hear all his talent and potential completely wasted, as he sounds like any average singer. Same goes for Frederik, LH's ex-backup guitarist, who apparently didn't mean much to the band as they took his leave as a grain of salt. For those who doubt LH will find a suitable replacement for Daniel, rest assured. The band has been receiving applications for over a year now, and have yet to find one worthy of accompanying the music (which they still actively write and practice). I gaurantee that they will turn out with someone who sounds much better with them, and does not ride the wave for publicity as Daniel has.
If you like power metal at all, you'll like Lost Horizon. If you like metal with a TRUE purpose, rather than mediocrity and lifeless trendy lyrics, Lost Horizon is your musical salvation.
Why do I speak so well of this band and with such truthful disdain for those who have betrayed them? It is through their music that I have found myself and the power I hold within. Countless metal bands sing about it, but only Lost Horizon has the power and majesty to make the basis of POWER metal become true.

Product Description
LOST WORLD is the name of a Russian Progressive rock band, founded in the year 1990 by Andrii DIDORENKO (Guitar, bass & violin), Vassily SOLOVIEV (Flute & drums) and Alex AKIMOV (Keyboards & programming), who were music college students at that time. After a period of intensive gigging and recording between 1991 and 1994, the singer Alexei RYBAKOV joined the group. Seven albums were recorded in a five year-period, self-released in a very limited quantity as burned CDs. Let's also mention the participation in the Music For Brains concert series in winter-spring 1999. The first official studio album of LOST WORLD eventually saw the light of day on the Boheme Music label in 2003. Shortly before the release of "Trajectories", Alexei RYBAKOV decided it was time for a move. The band could be heard performing on the 2005 and 2006 editions of the InProg festival in Moscow. Their second album "Awakening Of The Elements" eventually sees the light of day at the end of this year 2006. And this is great news for the Musea label, that welcomes the Slavic band in its catalogue ! These twelve instrumental pieces reveal a very high musical level, worthy of the flattering reputation gained by the Russian classical musicians. And it's not by chance if the classical influences are so much present, sharing the front of the stage with the British School of Progressive rock, reminding the way of other fellow countrymen such as LITTLE TRAGEDIES or HORIZONT. Here's a very dynamic and lively music, with incredible violin parts, frantic but not heavy rhythms, and suggestive melodies. The ingredients that make this real masterpiece might recall KANSAS or UK here and there, without forgetting the Japanese musicians of KBB, but this is mostly for the pleasure of finding comparisons. This music is above all full of personality and enthusiasm. Here's a natural candidate to the Best Album of the Year award !

Glen Velez is one of the few percussionists who could play a symphony on a frame drum. A virtuoso who has performed with everyone from Steve Reich to Paul Winter, there isn't a rhythm he can't negotiate nor a sound he can't coax out of his thin round drums. Years ago, Velez got sidetracked from world music and the avant-garde into the healing-music movement, yet he manages to craft some actual compositions out of music whose purported purpose is to "stimulate the first and second chakras." With percussion from across the world, Indian vocalese, South American ocarina, and good old North American harmonica played by Howard Levy, Velez throws in the ethno-kitchen sink. Bansuri flute player Steve Gorn guests on some of the best tracks, including "Ostia," on which Velez playing a nordic harp, and the sprightly "Citric Motion," in which Sufi-esque chant meets Indian bansuri over dizzying layers of cross-rhythms. Rhythms of Awakening can be exhilarating in its percussive interplay, but can also can sound like rhythm demonstrations. --John Diliberto
