5 out of 5 stars Heavy, heavy stuff from the death metal 'family'.......2002-10-01

It wasn't until I had already decided that Internecine's Book of Lambs was the best thing I'd heard in months, that I realized that it was a project of Hate Eternal bassist/vocalist Jared Anderson. Has anyone noticed how Hate Eternal is becoming some sort of nexus of death metal? I mean, there's the obvious overlap with Morbid Angel (hopefully you all got to see their most recent tour with Eric Rutan and Jared Andreson filling the 'other guitarist', and 'singer/bassist' roles), but there's also the whole Ripping Corpse thing, as well as Doug Cerrito (who I'm sad to see gone, since Suffocation was long one of my absolute favorite death metal groups).
So anyhow, Internecine's Book of Lambs is crazy. Kinda reminds me of what Immolation _almost_ reached with Closer to a World Below, but without being muddy or ever losing its grind. Seriously, this stuff grinds, and when it's not grinding, it's thrashing pretty grind-ily.
And if you're wondering if it's going to sound like Hate Eternal, in short, not at all. (Though I suppose it might sound like Hate Eternal if they sounded more like Immolation!)
K, so, it's probably to make endless comparisons to Immolation and others, since Internecine can easily stand on its own feet. So that's why you should buy it. Cause it's good.

5 out of 5 stars Basically Hate Eternal..........2004-05-04

Considering this band is made up from some members of Hate Eternal, I'm not surprised, however, contrary to popular belief, this CD is in no way demonic. It's more about the end of the world, and we all know how we all anxiously await for that day to arrive. The music is quite technical, heavy, and dare I say brutal. Think of a tamer version of Immolation and Hate Eternal, and you'll know what these guys sound like. I say buy it, it's extraordinary.

5 out of 5 stars Pure aggression.......2003-03-15

This album is awesome. Its fast and clean. Jared Anderson shows people that he is a multi talented musician with Book Of Lambs.
This album is brutal/ very heavy and well recorded.

4 out of 5 stars Seriously heavy stuff..........2002-09-25

Internecine isn't someone I'd heard of until quite recently (meaning today), but this first experience with them is certainly promising. They've got the heaviness and grind of Immolation, but with an Angelcorpse-ish thrashiness. If that sound reasonable, then you won't be disappointed.
I find Internecine to be at their best when they get super heavy (meaning when they get as heavy as Immolation's 'Close to a World Below' stuff), like with 'Hallowed Guidance,' 'The Elder Gods,' and 'The Calling of the Hordes.' But some tracks, namely 'For Thee I Bleed,' get so thrashy, you might feel like you're listening to old Exodus or something...which isn't a great thing in my book.
But occasional thrashiness aside, Internecine should definitely be checked out by anyone who wants really heavy stuff that doesn't sound like [junk]. (Then go listen to some Hate Eternal, the kings of heavy stuff that doesn't [stink]!!!)
