a taste of british metal.......2002-04-18
I have had this for ten years, and i relistened to it. Shug oneill is one great guitarist , i am trying to find out more about him, and hope he has gotten some solo time. In general,
i rate this as a little lighter than motorhead, but with many
same sounds and i know they are students of older metal punk
sounds. Again shug is my star of the cd and is quite talented.
If you know what hes doing , lemme know ok?

EVERYTHING IS OK!.......2000-05-26
Being a fan of the Stuffies for many years and still feeling like they were the best live band on earth meant that listening to a Miles Hunt solo LP could have been difficult, particularly after going to see Vent 414 live and feeling sad because I thought he'd lost it. After listening to Hairy on the Inside, I was shocked, surprised, and moreover really bloody impressed. All the LP is good but there are some fantastic moments with "Everything is not OK" and "Old Reliables" being my particular favourites. It hasn't been off my stereo since I got it and I know several other Stuffies fans of old who were equally impressed. Don't just read this, buy the CD. You won't be dissappointed.

Well, I guess I did say that. It was my initial reaction upon listening to it one time through. But after hearing the album a few more times, it has really grown on me. I was used to sounds of The Wonder Stuff and made the mistake of comparing TWS to Miles' solo career. He has really made an incredible journey from the days of TWS, and I now fully appreciate his works on Hairy On The Inside.
An absolute corker!.......1999-10-22
Good to see the great man back in action. The Wonder Stuff are long gone (but still not forgotten in my neck of the woods), and this piece is lyrically and musically on par with their finest work. It's been a long time coming, but it's been worth the wait. Although very folky in parts, i could still see 'Manna From Heaven' and 'Slow Drowning' ripping a club in half, and leaving them gasping for more. I just can't wait for him to pick up his electric again.
Bring it on Miles......and thank-you once again.

Miles is back to what he does best, writing from the sole. 11 great songs about the life and times of Mr Hunt. Forget the bands of the past, Miles has moved on and anyone who buys this will be treated in real music from a real person, not just another pop / rock star trying to make a quick buck. Lets hope gig records release a single or two so Miles will have to make one of those video's he so enjoys making. A great CD buy it! Catch a live show!
Excellent choice for any music lover........1999-05-25
Finally a disc that is filled with thoughtful music. It is refreshing to hear a musician following their passion and not relenting to pressure to produce the usual pop crap. Thanks Miles, for a truly memorable CD. P.S. If you have a chance to see this man live don't miss out.
