There's loud & then there's LOUDER.......2007-05-20
This CD is meant to be played at maximum volume. As Spinal Tap says, "When you need that extra sound, we turn it to 11." This is definitely a CD that should be played at 11. VV has some intense guitar work that I have ever heard. This is not an 80's hair band type album. It is harder than your Ratt/Poison type bands. Crank it and enjoy!
Little known fact.......2006-06-10
I pop this album in every once in awhile, and in addition to vinnie's guitar, have always enjoyed the melodies of the songs. THEN, I recently found out that Goran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, Time Requiem) did the original recordings of the songs for this album, but they decided to get Robert Fleischman, who was an American, and formerly of Journey.
Goran is a fantastic vocalist, and I am really sad that those demos have never seen the light of day. You can hear a version of Back on the Streets on the John Norum album "Total Control" however, and Goran rips Fleischman's performance on this album to shreds! That song, coincidentaly, was the song that Yngwie heard when he decided to get Goran as his vocalist for "Eclipse" and it's follow up "Fire & Ice".
Super Guitar.......2006-03-29
Vinnie Vincent could make a guitar poot if he wanted to. He's that good.
The folks who say this cd has too much guitar are just wimpy pop metal fans. They need to just go somewhere and listen to a Def Leppard cd I guess. If you like real hard rock this cd is for you.
From Ace to Vinnie what is kiss thinking........2006-02-03
Ok, I just picked this album up today, put it in and at first i was hesitant to nod my head, I had heard so many great and horrible things about Vinnie Vincent, but After giving the cd time to grow on me I realized something, Vinnie may have been the best guitarist kiss ever had sense Ace frehley, I don't know how Paul and Gene run the show over there but I think it must have worn off on vinnie because his band didn't hold together for very long.
Lets face it in a world full of fanatastic guitarist you will always look for something new, I found it with this man,
I am a Ace Frehley worshiper and I was really hesitant to even try to listen to any kiss record without him on it, I didn't even want to know about vincent until i read a review saying somethings about him,
So how does this album rank.
Every track has a kick ass guitar solo some have two. the only disapointing thing is the faggot singing, what is up with these high pitched guys, the only one who could ever get away with this is Paul stanley. anyways every song on this album is killer heavy metal, i am not a fan of this type of music, but i love killer riffs and flashy guitar work.
If you purchase this album give it time to grow on you and join the invasion, also pick up anything with Ace frehley on it if you haven't.
Peace
The real guitarest for KISS!.......2006-01-28

Vinnie Vincent deserved better.......2007-05-25
THE BAND: Vincent Cusano (guitars), Robert Fleischman (vocals), Dana Strum (bass), Bobby Rock (drums & percussions).
THE DISC: (1986) 10 tracks clocking in at approximately 48 minutes. Included with the disc is a 6-page booklet containing two band photos, song titles/credits/times, song lyrics, equipment used, and thank you's. Recorded at Baby'O Recorders (Hollywood, CA). Label - Chrysalis Records.
COMMENTS: Sandwiched somewhere between Cinderella, Britny Fox, House Of Lords, Bulletboys and 80's Kiss, was the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Shredding guitars, high pitched wails, thundering drums, purple ruffles over spandex, lipstick and a ton of Aqua-net (see Bobby Rock's picture - his hair on the album is perhaps the biggest I've ever seen). There are some great tunes here with lightning quick ripping guitar solos. There are a couple of nice power ballads here, also with lightning quick ripping guitar solos. Maybe that was the issue... as good as Vinnie Vincent is/was... to me, he had one speed. I have some favorite tracks here - the mid tempo rocker "No Substitute" with wonderful guitars and neat vocals (and backing vocals), the heavy "Twisted" (reminiscent of old school Krokus), the bluesy ""Back On The Streets", the minor hit "Boyz Are Gonna Rock", and the closer "Invasion" featuring some amazing guitar work and an odd siren-like ending. I always thought Vinnie Vincent was an up & comer in the world of rock guitarists when he latched onto Kiss' Gene Simmons - unaccredited guitar work on "Creatures Of The Night" (1982) and credited work on "Lick It Up" (1983)... and then abruptly being fired from the band for unethical reasons. I've always wondered what could have been for Vinnie... he had another few releases with his "Invasion", but then he just kind of disappeared (unless of course you can say writing songs for Joanie and Chachi on "Happy Days" is still making it in the business). The last I saw Vinnie's name was on a few song credits (writing only - no playing) from Kiss' "Revenge" (1992). "Invasion" was a good album for the time - fits perfectly in the mid 80's world of glam/hard rock. I think Vinnie Vincent deserved better - the man could shred (4 stars).
Interesting album, hard to listen to.......2007-01-02
We all know Vinnie Vincent is a talented guitarist. He co-wrote all the songs on the Kiss "Lick it Up" album, and others as well if you dig into some Kiss history. I bought VVI originally on LP way back in the day, intrigued to see what Vinnie would put together without Kiss.
This is nothing like Kiss, so get that out of your head. It's full-on, spandex rock that stands alone among the other 80's rock/metal albums based on 2 factors: 1. Crazy, over-the-top guitar playing, and 2. Vocals that are more over-the-top than the guitar.
Vincent's guitar playing is frenetic and loud (you decide if that's good or bad). One complaint is that the solos don't seem to go anywhere. Sure, they go a million miles per hour, but there doesn't seem to be much of a point--just a lot of notes. I've read in several interviews over the years that Vincent slowed the tapes while recording in order to make his soloing sound even faster (don't know if that's actually true, though).
Robert Fleischman's vocals are what make this disc a tough listen for me. First off, the lyrics themselves are pretty ridiculous, even by 80's glam metal standards. I can get past that. But the vocals are so over-the-top and high-pitched I have a hard time listening to this after a just a few songs. Perhaps the one exception to this is "Back on the Streets," which also features Vinnie on co-lead vocal. I've heard a demo of this track sung by Jeff Scott Soto (new Journey vocalist) and I'm left thinking I'd probably like this album more if JSS handled the vocals.
One thing is for sure: this album is pretty unique. "All Systems Go" was the follow-up to this disc (and the group's last), but it's fairly tame compared to this one.
Unchained 80s.......2006-05-16
I rate this 5 stars for its uniqueness, not necessarily for its musical excellence...Open the cassette and it says: "Made 2 be played at maximum volume" Well kids, they weren't jokin...this is hands down the LOUDEST album you'll ever hear in the 80s hair genre. OK, if you're expecting timeless music you'll be disappointed. But if you want to remember the good ol days of spandex this is a fine addition to your collection. The 1st track , Boyz Are Gonna Rock, is pure adrenaline. Followed by Shoot You Full of Love (strong vocals),your ears are now aching...skip on down to track 6, Do you Wanna Make Love, and have that after you-know-what cigarette. The rest of the album is "interesting", each track having a unique riff/effect. Much ado in the liner notes about no synthesizers being used...no kiddin Vinnie?

You Must Love This.......2006-01-17
It is 80's Cheese at its best but get to the music and you have an outstanding band. For me the Glam did this band in otherwise they would still be playing. After all Vinnie was good enough to win the job at Kiss. It is worth buying this CD.
Must Have For All Vinnie Vincent Fans.......2004-04-01
The 2003 box set from The Vinnie Vincent Invasion is a must have for all Vinnie Vincent fans. Even though there are no new tracks on the album (which I was hoping for) this box set is still definitely needed. The box set has all the songs Invasion ever recorded. With Vinnie's electrifying guitar work and lyrics, the best Invasion songs are "Boys Are Gonna Rock", "I Wanna Be Your Victim", "Ashes to Ashes", "Dirty Rythmm", and "That Time Of Year". Also,Vinnie Vincent is a good singer, and proves it with his duet with original Invasion singer (and former Journey lead singer) Robert Fleischman on "Back On The Streets". All fans of KISS, Vinnie Vincent, Slaughter, and Journey should definitely check out this box set.
vinnie still rules.......2003-06-27
This album, "All Systems Go,by Vinnie Vincent Invasion is an absolutely kick ... album. Originaly released an Chrysalis records in 1988, the music rocked then and I swear it seems to rock even more now. I first heard it in 88 when i was 12, now I am 27 and the music still kicks. Buy this album if you don't already have it!.
Save your money...nothing new.......2003-04-27
Zoom club records claimed there was rare photos inside...there is not, oh there is but they are scaled down to less than 10 percent their original size. Also they claimed that the 2 bonus tracks on All Systems Go would be released here...they have been not. Get the two previous re-releases by Zoom Club (find them at KISSshop.com Amazon obviously doesnt give a damn about keeping them in stock) of Vinnie Vincents first two albums and pass this up.....its nothing new. The only difference is that the box set has the two ASG and Invasion albums with a colored label (instead of the original, cheap "photocopied" label).
I bought this because I believed there to be actual life size photos in it...unfortunately I got ripped dont let the same thing happen to you. This is just Zoom Clubs last attempt to cash in on Vinnie's music.

Customer Reviews:
Better the 2nd time around.......2007-01-02
All Systems Go is the 2nd (and, it seems, final) album for Vinnie Vincent Invasion. This time around, Mark Slaughter is on vocals, and it's a much better album than the first.
The first disc was ambitious, but the vocals were so shrill it was tough to take. Never was the "nails-on-a-chalkboard" comparison so appropriate as it was on the first disc. This time around, the vocals are a big improvement. The lyrics aren't really any better, but the singing is.
The songwriting is better, too, and that's really what makes this record such an improvement over the first. The guitar tone is more listenable, the solos are a bit more restrained but still impressive, and the result is a better album.
Unfortunately, the group disbanded after this album and Vinnie's hardly been heard from since. He put out an EP a few years ago (once again featuring the shrieking of Robert Fleischman on vox--and it's just as hard to take as the 1st album), but that's about it. There was talk of a "Guitarmageddon" album a decade or so ago, but nothing has materialized. That's a shame, because this album was was one of the better (although usually overlooked) albums of the 80's.
Excellent CD.......2005-10-17
This is an EXCELLENT album!! Have to admit that Mark Slaughter steels the show though, his voice is amazing every song on this album rocks. My favorite are "That time of year" and "Love Kills" a song from the movie Nightmare on Elm street. Mark and Dana went on to form Slaughter and made amazing music with Blas Alias and Tim Kelly(rest in peace)Check out Slaughters cds. You will definitely LOVE this ALL SYSTEMS GO album.
What an album.......2005-04-30
The first time I listened to this album, I was blown away by it. And to tell you the truth, I still am. This was the second and last album from The Vinnie Vincent Invasion, another 80's hair metal group that was formed by Vinnie Vincent, who joined KISS after Ace Frehley left. I enjoyed Invasion's first self-titled debut album, but in MY opinion, this was a better album. Since Robert Fleischman had left the band by the time Invasion had released and recorded this album, Mark Slaughter, who at the time was unknown and had performed in a few local bands in Las Vegas, was the lead vocalist on this album taking over for Fleischman and boy, he can sing. The songs and performances on this album are both really good, and while Mark Slaughter did a good job at taking over for Robert Fleischman (who, let me add was one of Journey's lead singers and co-wrote the hit song "Wheel In The Sky")Vinnie, drummer Bobby Rock, and bassist Dana Strum all shred on this album. For the heavier tracks, the best songs are "Dirty Rythmn", "Let Freedom Rock", "Breakout", and "Ashes To Ashes". For the ballads, the best songs are "That Time Of Year", "Ecstasy" (OK, maybe the title is a little misleading, but this is a very pretty song), and "Love Kills". Out of all of the tracks on this album, my favorites are "That Time Of Year" and "Dirty Rythmn". "That Time Of Year" is a very beautiful song about the relationship between a husband/wife or a boyfriend/girlfriend (song does not say which)and even though the husband/boyfriend really loves his wife/girfriend, he has to say good-bye to find what Vinnie calls in the song his "dreams of glory". "Dirty Rythmn" is a very fun rocker with cool lyrics, an excellent drum intro by Bobby Rock at the very beginning of the song, along with the fact that Mark Slaughter's nasal vocals work well with the lyrics of this track. All in all, this is a great CD. It was pretty much the last time Vinnie Vincent had his moment of fame, since he has not put out any full-length original albums in a long time (in 1996 he released a four song EP called "Euphoria" that was supposed to be a future full-length album that never saw the light of day, and his most recent album, 2002's "Speedball Jam" has some good guitar work on there, but it is very hard to find (I found it at a KISS expo). This, by the way, was also the band that turned into Slaughter, especially since once the time Invasion broke up, Mark Slaughter and Invasion bassist Dana Strum went on to form Slaughter, another hair metal group that was really big in the early 90's and are still around to this day. This was actually the album that resulted in me getting a copy of Slaughter's debut album, 1990's "Stick It To Ya". If you happen to be a fan of KISS or Slaughter (or both great bands)and you haven't purchased this album yet, then what are you waiting for? This was one of the best CDS of the 80's, and if you decide to buy this album, make a careful purchase- this album was re-issued with digitally remastered sound and two bonus tracks, and an import with both this album and Invasion's first album all on one disc were also released. Vinnie Vincent should be the next President of the USA!
Let Freedom Rock!!!!.......2004-03-17
Mark Slaughter takes over the helm at vocals, and the sound is a bit more refined on this second release than on the debut. Still extremely slashing, however, and more intense than almost all of Slaughter's followup band work. More intense, and better as well. Riffs flow and crunch throughout, with "Ashes to Ashes," "Naughty Naughty," "Burn," "Let Freedom Rock," and "Heavy Pettin'" all being non-stop cruisers, with the sassy "Heavy Pettin'" being the closest harbinger to the future Slaughter band's sound."That Time of Year" was the first single off of the release, but it's also one of the three somewhat toned-down tracks off the disc. Because of this, a lighter impression may have been given than was expected. Still, very driving work on the track, and some emotional vox by Slaughter. "Love Kills" is a mysterious tooler, and was the lead song for one of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies (the fourth??). Hear it for yourself at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ This album is a solid release, and overlooked in the grand scheme of both '80s heavy glam and hook-and-riff metal in general. Vinnie himself has slagged this record in the past, but I think that's more due to a possible falling out between him and Slaughter/Strum than anything else. The material rips; he has nothing to be ashamed of.....
Vinnie Vincent's finest moment..........2003-06-03
... yes, I mean FINEST. This is the Invasion's most promising release (too bad it was this band's last). Both metal appeal and pop appeal, thx to the voice and persona of then-unknown vocalist Mark Slaughter. "Love Kills" and "That Time of the Year" are metal ballads at their finest: both rhythmic guitar picking and strumming and loud leads and ear-catching arrangements not heard in their contemporaries. One complete listen to this album will tell ANY rock music fan that this band had the makings of being one of the hottest bands of their time (late 80s, early 90s) (there are live recording floating around fan club sites which document this band as a moving force in rock at that time). Too bad for Vinnie: it seems there were conflicts between Vincent and Slaughter/Strum (vocals and bassist), and the latter two parted ways with Vincent and recorded (with Vincent's label, no less) as SLAUGHTER, selling millions to both rock and pop fans alike. I say "too bad" because you can hear the beginnings of what SLAUGHER became with this very CD.

Vinnie Vincent - 'Invasion' (Chrysalis).......2005-03-23
Great metal release by the ex-Kiss guitarist.I saw him with Kiss on their poorly recieved 'Creatures Of The Night' tour.I was disappointed with this album/CD's failure to take off as I always thought it would.Top rate 100% pure heavy metal musicianship to be fully experienced here.Tracks that did it for me were "Boyz Are Gonna Rock"(still love seeing the video),"Shoot U Full Of Love","Twisted","Do You Wanna Make Love" and the anthem-like "Back On The Streets".Line-up:Vinnie Vincent-guitar,Dana Strum-bass,Robert Fleischman-vocals and Bobby Rock-drums.Recommended.Didn't Fleischman have a solo hit out awhile back with "All For You"?I still never did locate a copy of that lp.Know I saw him open for Van Halen's very first state wide headlining tour.Alright, time to step out of the time capsule.
Great music...crappy guitar solos.......2003-07-04
I bought this album when I was 13 years old back in 1986. I loved it then, I love it now. The music is very solid. The singing is better than Mark Slaughter, and the songs are very catchy. Vinnie's rhythem playing is very cool, but the solos [are bad]. His playing is sloppy, uncontrolled, and monotonous. I know of a million guys that can play faster and cleaner than Vinnie...That aside, the songs are really good, and Vinnie's rhythems are great. Buy this album, but don't get excited about the fast playing, because, believe me, it is very sub-par. My favorites include "Shoot ya full of Love", "Twisted", "Boyz r gonna Rock", and "Do ya wanna make love". The last 3 minutes of "Invasion" is the biggest waste of space.
A jewel.......2002-01-15
It`s an excellent cd.
I love it
