The begining of gore..........2006-07-25
I can see why some people dont like this kind of music or gore in generall... Its not for every one but anyways, carcass's reek of putrefaction was the begining of something wonderfull i like to call goregrind. Pure sickness...
Carcass was the best.......2006-02-09
Killer tracks include Pyosisified (Rotten To The Gore), Feast On Dismembered Carnage, Burnt To A Crisp and Psychopathologist to name a few.
Carcass was the best band around back in the day...until they released Heartwork then everything went downhill after that. Carcass did things that other bands only dreamed of doing. The lyrics are intelligent the music is fast and brutal. Anyone who has ever played the drums knows how difficult and tiring it is to grind for as long and as much as the drummer here does. If you are a fan of Heartwork and later then you probably will not like Carcass' older work and vice versa. I personally can not understand why a band that can play this well and this fast would ever want to stop...oh yeah $$$$$
If you compare the first few albums to that attempt at mainstream, Heartwork...all I can say is WTF! What a disappointment.
I would give this along with all of there releases before Heartwork a higher rating then 5 if I could...
Sets the bar.......2004-12-20
This is the first and best release from those lovable vegan peace-punks; Carcass. In my opinion it is the most intense grindcore album ever made. By the way, early Carcass such as this is not death metal-it's grindcore which makes it more akin to punk, hardcore, and crust. In fact members of Carcass were in some of the pioneering bands that transformed dispunk and crust into grindcore. The apparent relation between grind and death is really an afterthough- a sort of parallel evolution between punk and metal(with some crossover influence of course especially in the late 80's early 90's. The raw lo-fi production just makes this album all that more punk. with this album Carcass set the bar.
go buy swansong instead.......2004-06-19
this album showcases carcass at their most DUMB, IMMATURE, and MESSY state fo their career. even the band themselves denounce this album later.
this album REEKS. literally.
swansong or heartwork had way better riffs, huge solos, better drumming, better lyrics, better everything.
go get swansong or even heartwork, carcass' first 3 lps are not worth your money.
Best Carcass Album.......2004-05-08
Its really too bad that carcass had to clean up and sound metal. The production on this album is perfect. Total harsh brutality.
