The guys in stromkern have spent alot of time defining their own sound.
it is incredibly unique in the genre that they play in
almost a punk band with fresh lyrics that are appropriate for our time as well as damn good synths exactly where they are needed... it brings electro industrial to a new level using guitars, actual drum kits, and killer vocals in order to bring a new sound into the genre and hopefully bring new listeners in.
i have seen these guys live in concert opening for FLA and they put on a great show

Fresh electro blend.......2006-09-03

The music on this album is what got me into Stromkern. I suppose you have to have an open mind to like hip hopish electronic music, but this is what makes Stromkern unique and stand out from the rest. It's rather ignorant to call it "goth rap" as it is neither. I have a lot of favorites on this album, my only beef is how some of their songs get to be repetitive and redundant after a while as they extend the song out longer than it should be, ie. Night Riders (although don't get me wrong, I LOVE Night Riders!).. But check this album out if you are looking for something new, you won't be disappointed!

New Blend.......2003-10-02

I listen to all types of EBM, (VNV Apop A23 ETC.) but Stromkern take a totally different approach to the EBM genre and I think its awesome! It a total change of pace from other EBM artists I wouldnt call it rap though. Although terrorist (which is one of my favorite songs on there) has a rap-ish beat which goes into a technoish-ebmish beat.

Personally I would get tired of the same thing over and over. That's I like it when artist try to merge genres (to an extent) and Stromkern did a great job of making a unique CD.

So, if you like catchy toons and inspiring lyrics get this CD.

Goth Rap.......2003-03-27

I'm not sure when or where Stromkern started gaining hype, but this CD is most definitely nothing to talk about. It consists of very typical beginner industrial music combined with some of the worst vocals put to disc. What makes it even worse is that these vocals are rap. I thought EBM bands trying to sound like trance bands was bad, but I'll take that any day of the week over electrogoth rap.

I really love this CD.

I used to listen to old "industrial" music many years ago, back when Wax Trax was the king of interesting music. The top selling bands at this time were Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Ministry and Front 242...

Somewhere along the timeline, everybody started using their samplers to sample guitars instead of different obscure sounds and from 92-97 Guitar orientated sampler music reigned supreme. The focus was no longer on the melodies or the drumbeats, the focus was basically on how your chunka chunka guitar riffs sounded. I lost interest pretty fast in that, and started listening to hiphop and techno music instead...
The focus then turned back to the beats and basslines, with a newly incorporated techno theme. This was interesting for awhile, but then once again it became a bit dull.
Stromkern seems to take all of these aspects of music and puts them together into an agreeable whole.

The Armageddon CD has "catchy" songs you can hum along to, and wonderful lyrics. Ned also has strong lyrical message without being preachy or "in your face."

With this CD, Stromkern will surely gain the attention of the North America audience. It may take some time but I think Stromkern are upcoming "stars" in this scene.
Definitely worth checking out!

On the Fence..........2007-07-15

Well, I would have a hard time trying to classify this one. It's definately on par with thier music, but there is nothing that particularly stands out on this CD. I have most of their older CD, of which all had one or two songs that really stand out, and you find yourself playing over and over... This one however; It just really blends in with many other german feeling - industrial stuff. Its more EBM, with the german lyrics flaver, ala Megahertz, OOMPH!, Rammstein... But its not hard like those. As some europeans argue, "Its disco"... Well, they must not have ever been to America, because, its nothing close to what we call "disco" what they mean is that they play it in dance clubs... ala "Disco"... but to americans, Disco is the stuff played in the 70-80's.... but anyway... I am sad to say there is nothing memorable about this cd, and you will probably find it getting lost in the collection. Worth a listen, and a definate if you are a AD fan...which I am...But, not one song here is a favorate of mine. I would moreso recommend their other releases... but if you like their sound that will probably get lost in all the Front 242, VNV Nation, Apoptigma Bezerk, etc... then by all means...

The type of techno that IS techno.......1999-06-26

The music on this album is unique, with futuristic sounds, and good beat rythm techno. And in other times, wierd. The only disappointing part of this album is the lack of change in the music. This album would be good for playing games(in other words, listening to the album while playing a fast-energetic game). The track that hit my emotions the most was Invisible Force.
