While Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap sounds like every other AC/DC album, it is distinguished by a lyrical puerility spectacular even by Bon Scott's standards. Two tracks--"Love at First Feel" and "Squealer"--are ruminations on the morality of sex with schoolgirls. "Big Balls," ostensibly a narrative from the perspective of an aristocrat socialite, is actually a somewhat labored excuse for the band to chant "We've got big balls." This juvenile posturing was, to a large degree, AC/DC winding up their burgeoning foreign audience by playing to stereotypical expectations of Australians. On Dirty Deeds, however, AC/DC try too hard. Only on "Ain't No Fun (Waiting Round to Be a Millionaire)" is Scott's laconic wit deployed to real effect: the sheer glee in the line "Get your fuckin' jumbo jet off my airport!" is almost worth the album's purchase price. --Andrew Mueller

Customer Reviews:
It's Bon Scott for Christ's sake!!!.......2007-07-27
No review does any AC/DC album justice. Leave the art to Da Vinci and the rock to AC/DC. It's all about fun.
I hate the song Big Balls.......2007-06-27
Everything on this album is fantastic except for Big Balls. How that song ever became a single I will never know.
Back in Black was great, but I prefer Bon Scott's lunatic rants on their earlier records........2007-06-13
I don't think this is really a 5-star record, but it's worth 5-stars to hear Bon Scott's barking about his "big balls" and his willing to play a hit man using 'high voltage'. Although this band is not a punk band, they are one of my all-time favorite punk bands, because they have the spirit. Bon Scott was so original and so amazingly wild.
Good Music.......2007-05-27
AC/DC stormed on the U.S. music scene with Highway to Hell. They toured the country opening for other guitar bands like Kiss. When we found out that AC/DC already had several albums previously released in Australia, well, we were just thrilled. This was one of those albums.
All of these songs are excellent songs with catchy rhythm tracks. The lyrics are attractive to the testosterone laden teenage boy: the title track, Big Balls, Rocker, etc... The chorus of Problem Child was one of the anthems of my teenage years.
What I like most about this band and this CD is Malcolm. He lays down some cool sounding rhythms that are fun and relatively easy to play. I got the tablature from the internet and worked my way through all of these songs. Friday afternoon I like to put this in my CD player and crank up my Seymour Duncans and play along.
Fantastic record but..........2007-02-16
What a bummer, the Australian Release of this record had the one song that really capped off this album. That song was of course, Jailbreak. It was the last song on the record.
It appears to be missing here! Not good. How can you take an absolutely brilliant record like this one and leave off its crowing glory. Jailbreak is one of the Bon Scott era trademark AC/DC songs. Not Impressed with this omission! This is not good. Also the cover is different. The original cover had the closeup of the parrot tattoo on Bon Scott's arm while Angus flipped you the bird in the background (irony?). This new cover makes it look like a Duran Duran record.
I always felt that this record was one of the major Bon Scott era records, along with TNT, Let There Be Rock, and Highway to hell (not just in sales, but in consistency, quality of music and lyrics). Dirty Deeds (first song) and Jailbreak (last song) made it a killer album. My personal favorite song was Ride On.
Definitely a defining album in the AC/DC catalog and one which you should seek to have because even now, 30 years later, it still sounds like the top notch record it was back in the day. It rocks. And remember, if it ain't loud, it's not on...

Awesome album!.......2007-06-25
This is a must-have for any classic rock music fan. What's with the concealed eyes of the people in the cover photo, though? That's so strange. The title track is incredibly awesome and was covered by Joan Jett(her reocrding was on hit parade in early 1990). Aside from the title track, other tracks on classic rock radio station playlists include BIG BALLS,LOVE AT FIRST FEEL and PROBLEM CHILD. The other tracks are excellent.
More hard rockin' .......2007-02-20
Lacking the sheer dynamic energy of BACK IN BLACK, DIRTY DEEDS is more typical of AC/DC's output. With a driving beat, the title track is a match fro anything the band has done and "Big Balls is...well, it's ridiculous and that's exactly why it's so much fun. The other cuts rock, but are relatively forgettable. AC/DC will rarely surprise, but they do put out consistently hard rockin' music.
What Rock And Roll Is All About.......2007-01-25
Ac/Dc is a band that stands on it's own...they have never changed their style to fit in with trends..I really respect that and on Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap they prove they are the masters of blues tinged heavy rock and roll...
this is nearly tied with Highway To Hell as my favorite Bon fronted Ac/Dc album
This really does have it all...the title cut 'Dirty Deeds' is rock and roll bliss...driving drums...awesome lyrics and a killer guitar solo
Angus is fantastic at playing solos that touch you every time and Bon was just about the perfect rock and roll front man...what a unique sound
this album is just plain amazing...very sexual lyrics (which is a plus in my book) songs like Love At First Feel (about enjoying the company of a young woman) Big Balls (the ultimate double meaning song) Rocker...just plain rock and roll fun...problem child, there's gonna be some rocking, ain't no fun (a song about the ups and downs of life),ride on (a beautiful soft blues song) and finishing off with Squealer one of my favorite Ac/Dc songs...it's about a girl who is very vocal about what she enjoys (smiles) beautiful...this CD is truly a work of art and I recommend it not only to all Ac/Dc fans but to any fan of rock and roll...it's heavy but you can dance to it all and sing along very loud and proud
the upside...the title track 'Dirty Deeds' is rock and roll perfection...every song is a classic...play it loud ...lots of great guitar solos and very sexual lyrics throughout...awesome CD
the downside- there is none...it's nearly perfect
the bottom line - rock and roll the way it was meant to be...run and out and buy this if you love heavy rock or rock and roll at all..heck if you love music at all you'll find something great about this CD...I recommend it to anyone starting out with Ac/Dc or heavy rock....YOU NEED THIS CD...the donutman says so!!!

"But we've got the biggest balls of them all!".......2006-07-10
No, it's not at the level of Back in Black. Hey, what is? But it's still one of AC/DC's better albums.
1. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap: 10/10. An unforgettable rocker about a guy who runs a revenge hotline (just call 362-436 - get it?) that offers services such as T.N.T and High Voltage, references to two of the group's most popular songs.
2. Love At First Feel: 10/10. Another great rocker with a good title.
3. Big Balls: 10/10. Sure, the lyrics are very immature. But they're still hilarious, and proof that at least one hard rock band has a sense of humor. That, and Bon Scott's vocal delivery is hilarious!
4. Rocker: 8/10. An apt title for this fun updated-50's piece.
5. Problem Child: 7/10. Good, but not great.
6. There's Gonna Be Some Rockin': 8/10. More solid rock, what we'd expect from AC/DC.
7. Ain't No Fun (Waitin' 'Round to Be a Millionare): 5.5/10. Let the filler begin. They spend half the song's length repeating the title.
8. Ride On: 5/10: Some rock groups sound good when they turn the volume down. AC/DC isn't one of them.
9. Squealer: 5.5/10. AC/DC-by-numbers
Overall: 8/10. A good album, but not at Back in Black's level.

Great AC/DC Music! WAHOO!.......2004-10-11
First of all, I loved this cd! I think it was great!
1.Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap: I think this song was an awesome rock and roll song! Crazy guitaring, just like all of AC/DC's songs! I give it 5 out of 5!
2.Love at First Feel: A great rock and roll song! This song is a song I like! It also has really good guitar solos! I give it 5 out of 5!
3.Big Balls: This is a song that sounds like a comedy! But it's about parties, not your balls! But they did that on purpose! Anyways, this sond will always be a comedy to me! It's actually really funny! I think they were drunk when they sang this song! I give it 5 out of 5!
4.Rocker: THERE ROCKERS, THERE ROLLERS! I love this song, cause it's about them being rock and rollers and thats true! This song is great! I'd have to say it's one of my fav AC/DC songs! I give it 5 out of 5!
5.Problem Child: This song starts off with really good guitaring! Which is what I like! It's a really good song. I read in the booklet that this song was like a rap song without the rap! I give it 4 out 5! It's still good though! And a crazy solo!
6.There's gonna be some Rockin': This song is a really good song! It's also one of my favs! But it's not as good as Rocker! Anyways, I still give this 5 out of 5!
7.Ain't no fun (Waiting Around to be a Millinare): This song was okay. It's not the best song ever! It gets pretty boring. But the cool thing is, it's a true story, well, thats what the say in the song! I give it 3 out of 5. It has a catchy tune!
8.Ride On: This song starts off a little slow, but just a little. This song picks up the speed! This song is awesome! I give it 4 out of 5.
9.Squealer: This song starts off a little fast and a little slow. It gets a little fast after! I like this song, just like I like every other one! It's actually really good! THIS HAS A CRAZY SOLO! I give it 5 out out of 5!
Alright, I'm done this review! I hope you enjoyed it!
Classic AC/DC.......2004-10-01
The first five tracks are simply amazing. My favorite has to be Big Balls because it shows ac/dc having fun and simply being some dab a** rock n rollers. You cannot go wrong with this album if you are into ac/dc or just good music period.
HeadbangerDuh what are you? F*cking retarded?.......2004-08-24
This CD is the classic AC/DC sound, if you dont like this, then you dont like AC/DC.
Kinda Wacky.......2004-05-30
This album is kind of wacky. It is not the true AC/DC that everyone knows and loves. This is some weird, not-so-heavy sound that kind of sounds like later Led Zeppelin. The Australian accents are very obvious on this album. The lyrics are strange, and so are the beats. I can't say the band put their best foot foward on this. The title track is good, and so is Problem Child, but some songs like Love At First Feel and There's Gonna Be Some Rockin' are just too weird. Good for die-hard AC/DC fans, but not really that great.

God's gift to ballroom notoriety..........2006-11-21
In the fall of 1976, AC/DC released their third album in their homeland after the initial success of 'TNT' had started to wane. By this point in their careers, the band had conquered Australia and were starting to make inroads into Britain. 'Dirty Deeds' the album is not much of a progression in terms of sound quality and that may be a disappointment for some. Also with the exception of the title track, "Jailbreak" and "Problem Child", none of the other songs bring the same mythic status of the tunes on 'TNT'. However it is a very enjoyable record, with every song contributing to the fun. "Big Balls" is fabulous, what a joke! "Ain't No Fun" brings its own surprises in its lenghth and Bon's closing commentary to Howard Hughes. "Squealer" is a very intense and mean song, misogenous but no more than many a Stones classic. Much praise has been heaped on "Ride On" but I think it is okay, not a classic. If you want a real AC/DC blues song, "Go Down" foots the bill! The frustrating thing for any AC/DC fan is that the Australian albums are all collectors items and the recent Epic remaster followed the same stupid UK?US song order on the first five albums! Why don't they pull their heads out of their butts and do it right!! "RIP" and "Jailbreak" together beat "Love at First Feel" and "Rocker" was on 'TNT'! 'Dirty Deeds' was released in its altered version in Britain towards the end of '76 and not until 1981 in the US. And the record company still can't get it right. Maybe Bon should have paid a visit to their houses and inflicted his specialty on those nitwits! Concrete shoes and cyanide might have set them straight.
This is the real deal, part three.......2006-10-06
AC/DC's third album, "DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP", is indeed dirty. This time around, the sexual content in tracks like "Squealer" and "Big Balls" is rather explicit. Besides rock god bravado ("There's gonna be some rockin'"), this record features tales about crooks and murder, in the title track, as well as in "Problem Child" and in "Jailbreak". Bon Scott's "love it or hate it" sense of humor is present on "Big Balls", a hilariously irreverent take (in British Pop/Rock format) at the glamorous social events hosted by "the beautiful people". "Ain't no fun (waiting `round to be a millionaire)", a tale of a pauper musician dreaming about making it big, also has its strong punch line: "Hello Howard, how ya goin'; My next door neighbour; Oh Yeah, get your (CENSORED) jumbo jet off my airport". And finally, there's "R.I.P. (rock in peace)", Bon Scott assertive response to those who disliked him and/or his lyrics: "Leave me alone; let me be on my own; let me rock in peace".
Musically, "DIRTY DEEDS" is a tiny bit uneven, when compared to its predecessor, "T.N.T.". But "DEEDS'" many great moments are superior to anything heard in the the band's sophomore record. The fierceness found in the group's first two efforts is still present in this third release. In "DIRTY DEEDS", AC/DC took the heavy metal formula they defined in "T.N.T." to the next level, in the title track, in "Jailbreak" (their very best song to date at that time) and in "Problem child". There are slight echoes of "High Voltage" in this latter track, but, fortunately, it's not a shameless re-write.
"DIRTY DEEDS" is also the most bluesy record AC/DC ever made with the late Bon Scott.
In tracks like "There's gonna be some rockin'", the drum ear shattering "R.I.P. (rock in peace)" and the delicate, beautiful "Ride on", these white guys proved that they could sing the blues. More over, perhaps more than a few African-American Rhythm & Blues singers would be impressed by Bon Scott's restrained, yet authoritative soulful vocals in "Ride on".
OK, the price of this item is "not cheap" for anyone who lives outside Down Under. But given the fact that this real deal is only released there, it's becoming a collector's item. The choice is yours, fans.
A final word about this re-issue: unfortunately, there are no liner notes, extra photos, bonus tracks or previously unreleased material. Every one knows that EMI music is a serious record company. For reasons unknown to me, the surviving members of AC/DC seem quite apprehensive about sharing a bit more of their music with us. If Bon Scott (undisputedly the band's most uncompromising member ever), was still alive, I believe things would be different in this respect. How many more years are necessary for more comprehensive re-issues to see the light of day?.

This is the first acdc album that I ever heard. When I was about 12 years old,Ive had an obsession ever since. Now I am thirt three and still love them. I have just about every album and never seem to get tired of listening to them. This album dirty deeds done dirt cheap is one of the all time clasics. I think the Australian release would be the best option, mainly because it includes Jailbreak and rock in peace.
Check it out.

The True Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.......2005-10-01
This is one of the best albums of AC/DC of all time!!
This version is the original with Jailbreak and R.I.P.(Rock In Peace). This is the only album where you can find R.I.P.
And the version of the track #1 Dirty deeds done dirt cheap is different to the international version because here is longer and have more parts where bon sings, so here is the original song of dirty deeds done dirt cheap and not the one of the international version.
The artwork is great, and the cartoons are really funny and amazing, just get it if you are a true fan of AC/DC
Bon ROCKSSSSS!!!!!!!
There 3rd album and what a classic!.......2004-03-18
It would be nice if this would get a re-issue and include "love at first feel" its the only song that wasnt released in Asutralia. But the new re-issues are released here, but it would still be nice to see the ultimate dirty deeds album contain Love At First Feel with it!
