By now, there are FAR better metal offerings to choose from over this one. Even in 2000, Serpent Obscene put out a rather bland recording of nothing that wasn't already done a thousand times before. It is rather basic death metal which does keep true to the early '90s though. Yet, the problem lies within the lack of ever needed originality or at least diversity between songs. Upon a few spins of this disc one may begin to feel he or she is hearing 9 variations of the same song... This band could have promise if they continue on and create more memorable songs and I suppose it is worthwhile if you are a new fan of Swedish death metal. But, you, as all of the veterans already know, will definitely find much more rewarding music in bands that pioneered this music. Look up Entombed, Grave, and Dismember to start with.

Good solid album.....it doesn't get any better than Swedish Metal. If you Like this, check out LAMB OF GOD.
