Who could've guessed back in 1977--when ex-Hawkwind bassist Lemmy Kilmister's new band, Motörhead, released their self-titled debut--that Lemmy's career would some day be measured in decades? The rapid-fire metal/punk group seemed to have ignited a fast-burning wick that would lead to certain explosion. Yet here's Motörhead in 2000 still hammering out speedy, thick metal. We Are Motörhead finds Lemmy in his mid-50s barking out "See Me Burning" as the youthful Mikkey Dee (of Dokken fame) powers his double-bass beat. A trio once again, with guitarist Phillip Campbell holding down the guitar slot, Motörhead slice the speed a bit thinner than on earlier albums such as Ace of Spades and the classic No Sleep 'til Hammersmith. But Lemmy is as irascible as ever, as evidenced by the touching, minor-key ballad "One More Fucking Time." --Andrew Bartlett

Motorhead - 'We Are Motorhead' (CMC International).......2005-03-25
Maybe not the best Motorhead disc ever released, but still worth owning a copy of.Surprisingly enough,on the CD's ballad,"One More F**king Time",Lemmy can actually carry out the feat rather well.Other decent tracks include "Stay Out Of Jail",the Sex Pistol's cover "God Save The Queen","Wake The Dead" and the title cut "We Are Motorhead" which pretty much says it all.Good to take off the rack from time to time for a spin in your CD player.
The AC/DC of enduring biker rock.......2004-02-15
Leave it to a band like Motorhead to come up with a seven minute ballad and call it "One More F***ing Time." Actually, this stab at a leather hearted tear jerker is far from the limpid attention getter you'd expect it to be; not only is it staged capably as an epic 70s ballad, but believe it or not Lemmy even acquits himself admirably in the vocal department. Elsewhere the band are up to the usual, churning out that dirty proto-thrash they've been pioneering since the Disco era with varying quality. The trio even playfully rip themselves off with the opening of the title cut, launching into a chord progression suspiciously reminiscent of the amphetamine fueled "Ace of Spades" riff. Like that beat up biker jacket Lemmy's been wearing since he was out of grade school, you get the impression Motorhead's songs have been lived in and experienced before they were put down in the studio, and that's why they can get away with cranking out the same old dirt metal for over twenty years.

My Favorite Motörhead Album.......2003-04-12
This album has to be my favorite Motörhead album so far.
Motörhead just seems to get better and better as time goes on.
All the songs on the album are some of the best Motörhead songs I've ever herd.
As always the guitar and drumming is phenomenal and the lyrics blow me away.
I recommend this album to any Motörhead fan and if you're not a Motörhead head fan I think this is the album that would change your mind. This album kicks ...
3 good songs and a lot of garbage.......2003-03-19
This effort is very uneven to say the least. It's far from Motörhead's finest and the only good songs are "Slow dance", "Stay out of jail" (could easily been included on "Overkill"), and the title track "We are Motorhead" (very similar to "Ace of spades"). The rest is not good at all, and the opener "See me burning" is just awful. The cover of Sex Pistols' "God save the queen" is forgettable. Lemmy have said that the band usually spend two weeks writing the songs for each album, and from listening to this release, I would suggest they put a little more time as well as effort in that department.

The Motorhead for Tomorrow!.......2000-06-26
This 2 disc set contains the same raw Motorhead we remember, with a pinch of top-40 salt. I recommend it to any fan of the band, keep an open mind and rock with the bad boys.
