Editorial Reviews
From the Artist
The concept of The Judas Factor is to make the band a living and breathing representative of the members that make up the band. According to lead singer/lyricist Rob Fish: "The band is meant to challenge us as both musicians and people. We want to do something dynamic and when we start to feel confined we will change things up a bit. We don't feel much need to define 'our sound', nor do we feel obligated to stick with any formula. The use of electronics is something that we are definitely incorporating more of and, in turn, it will alter the sound of the upcoming record. The next LP will definitely be a departure from our past records."

Product Description
The evolution of The Judas Factor is as varied and complex as their ever-changing sound. Since their formation in 1998, the band has endured several lineup changes, and with those changes their sound has continued to evolve with each record. By the time Ballads In Blue China, was released in April of 1999 on Revelation, The Judas Factor had developed into a dizzying tornado of ideas and sounds. This debut EP showed an artistic, chaotic blend of discordant hardcore combined with deeply personal lyrics. Ballads In Blue China was praised by journalists and independent music fans alike as a beautifully destructive record that many nominated as "Album Of The Year". Already a consistent touring act in the North East and Mid West, The Judas Factor decided to embark on a full US tour in the summer of 1999. The band played in every possible setting from houses to large festivals, performing 33 shows in 30 days. Soon after their experience on the road, the band was back to writing.

By the fall of 1999, The Judas Factor had come up with a number of new songs. The band felt that these songs best captured the direction they were headed in, and decided to record them as an EP entitled Kiss Suicide. There is a general cathartic feeling present on this six song EP, as there has always been with The Judas Factor. Kiss Suicide retains the intricate song structures and intensely emotional lyrics that made Ballads In Blue China so striking, but Kiss Suicide takes a huge step forward into the waters of dissonant rock. The band has also added subtle bits of sampling and electronic beats to some of their latest songs; best evidenced on the EP's closing track "November 20, 1999". The Judas Factor are currently writing songs for a full length album.
