Released in June 1982, "Screaming Blue Murder" was Girlschool's Third Full Lengh Album Release for the Bronze Records Label. Under the Guidance of Police and Professionals Producer Niger Grey, "Screaming" Reached a Respectable Number 27 in UK Album Chart. The Punk Abandon of the First Two Albums May have Been Glossed Over but the Energy and Attitude Remained with the Band Enjoying their New Set of Songs Especially on the Live Circuit which by Now was Beginning to Cover Many More Territories around the World. This Remastered Release Includes a Full-lengh Concert Broadcast Made by BBC Radio One of their 'in Concert' Series and also Adds a Track from the Wildlife EP Released a Few Months Prir to Enid Williams Departure.

Girlschool - 'Screaming Blue Murder' (Castle Music) 4 1/2 stars.......2006-05-05

Originally released in 1982,as 'Screaming...' was the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal's(only?)all-female band's third record.Very nice job on the CD reissue.I wondered as to WHY I've never seen this title in stores before,apparently this is it's first pressing on compact disc.You get the album's original ten rockers,like "Live With Me",the ass-kickin' "Don't Call It Love","Hellrazor" and "Flesh&Blood" plus eleven(11)bonus tracks tagged on from a 1982 BBC Radio One In Concert shindig.I mean,come on!Who could possibly resist?A must-have.

Three Times Running..........2004-12-25

This is the last of the "classic" first three Girlschool titles. It's the FIRST time it's ever been available on CD.

Although not quite as good as the two records that preceded it, "Screaming Blue Murder" is still a fantastic entry in the Girlschool canon. This version contains Nigel Gray's orginal mix, as opposed to Chris Tsangarides remix done on the old U.S. release (on vinyl in 1982.) That gives this version a much rawer vibe and brings it much closer in feel to the punkish first two intstallments of their discography.

All the same elements are there, catchy, driving, punk/rock/metal delivered with lots o' balls. A bit of filler creeps in, but I swear if "Turns Your Head" around were to pop up in a movie soundtrack, Girlschool would be back on everybody's radar.

Excellent. Even with the filler, still better than ANYTHING any of the current crop of "all female rock bands" has to offer.

Not what I was hoping for.......2006-12-27

The cd starts off strong with "Marshall Lockjaw", a solid old-school sounding metal song, but then the rest of the original songs on the album are more in the "Pantera" style metal with choppy riffs and barking vox; not quite Paul's forte. Another problem I have is that there are no less than 5 Maiden trax on this 11 song disc - just a tad too many, although they do sound good. I got this in the cheapie bin, where it belongs, so I'm not too upset.

Great Metal Band / Terrible Compilation.......2002-10-11

Killers are a very aggressive metal band and are led by Paul Dianno(ex-iron maiden,battlezone vocalist)in case you didn't know.They are an excellent metal band---enough said.However,this collection of songs is as far from a "best of" as you can get.This "screaming blue murder" disc is a joke!It doesn't even include their best work,great songs like--the beast,impaler and chemical imbalance are nowhere to be found,only 1 tune from "murder one" c'mon!I forked over [money]plus for this poor pile of [garbage].New fans take note:Go out and get their first two studio records-murder one and menace to society-i think murder one is out of print-though.I don't know who chose the songs for this compilation
or how that works,but this reminds me of alot of other poorly assembled dung that some record companies put out.Buy it if you like,but you've been warned.

Ten track live CD title,that until recently I was never even aware of.Liked this better than their self-titled debut effort(see my review).Guitarist/vocalist John Sykes IS an impressive,yet also a somewhat under-appreciated player.With that being said,keep in mind that all Blue Murder,Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy fans MAY not dig this CD as much as I did.Most memorable cuts here are "Cry For Love","Save My Love",the power rocker "Jelly Roll", Thin Lizzy's "Dancing In The Moonlight" and Whitesnake's "Still Of The Night". Sound quality is great.Do check this out as soon as you can.A must-have.

John Sykes LIVE!!!.......2006-03-23

Buy it - Don't do anything else. This is John Sykes playing hiss ass off and singing like a ROCK GOD! This guy has killer riffs, killer solos, killer songs, and killer vocals. He is the complete package. I am a huge Sykes fan but don't let that put you off. I honestly think he has that something special that separates him from most other musicians. He was born to do this stuff. I also must emphasise that he has the biggest vibrato technique ever heard. I hope you get the opportunity to experience this and other Sykes releases. Enjoy!!

that 1st blue murder album is an under-rated heavy metal gem, so this one might be pretty cool , KNOCK IT BACK

This is the only live album from Blue Murder, the band put together by former Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake Guitarist John Sykes. The Blue Murder tracks (eg. Jelly Roll) are very good,and benefit from the live setting. However, the versions of Thin Lizzy (Dancing in the Moonlight, Cold Sweat) and Whitesnake (the immortal Still of the Night) tracks are fine when listened to by themselves, but compared to the originals they are disappointing. Sykes' chops are fantastic (he is one of rock's premier, and most underrated, guitarists), but his voice is average. He isn't a bad singer, he just lacks the character and earnest sincerity of Phil Lynott and the amazing bluesy power of David Coverdale. If this album had a few more tracks from Blue Murder albums instead of disappointing versions of songs by Sykes' former bands it would probably have got four stars. Good effort nonetheless, and still a good addition to any classic rock music collection.

Anyone who loves real Rock music will without doubt love this album. The first album released way back in 1989 is a classic and "still" my favourite album of all time.For fantastic guitar playing,awsome melodies and great vocals this is the album, all done live.In this day of marketed, manufactured rubbish thank God we have music of this quality to cling to and remember the "old" days.
