This is the first effort of misfortune, the black metal band hailing from sweden. A 3 song ep, midnightenlightened has a great mix of a good black metal singer and a great musical backdrop. The drummer impressed me the most, spinning syncopated back beats and rhythms off of the wonderful guitar and bass work--This is showcased specifically in the song " the prophecy". equally used are melody and power ,combined to create truly good black metal. The voice is classic black, with overtones of both diabolical masquerade and witchery. All in all a good effort from the rockers from sweden. Misfortune has also released Forsaken, their new full length album.
