Editorial Reviews

The medically minded Scrubs is an eccentric affair, populated by a zany cast of residents saving lives while learning life's little lessons in the process. Though lacking the show's oddball humor, its soundtrack is undeniably earnest, with a rich understanding of the pleasures and hardships faced by the hospital workers. The show's theme song, Lazlo Bane's quirky banjo twanger, sighs "I'm no Superman," as an uncharacteristically subdued Guided by Voices track cautions to "Hold on Hope." Ex-Men at Work frontman Colin Hay lends his sage advice with acoustic renditions of "Beautiful World" and the chestnut "Overkill," while Eels' "Fresh Feeling" begins with a tuning orchestra and turns into a tripping beatfest. The highlights, though, belong to Francis Dunnery, sounding uncannily like Peter Gabriel on the high-tea string elegance of "Good Life," and the Shins, with "New Slang," a humble campfire song. Puttering along pleasantly, Scrubs, while a little bland, is nevertheless a life-affirming collection that's as hopeful as the aspiring young doctors on the show. --Annie Zaleski

Then you'll feel no different about these songs. Perfect for any mood your in.

4 out of 5 stars love for scrubs.......2007-06-11

I haven't heard of many of these artists- but who cares. If you liked the Garden State soundtrack you'll enjoy the Scrubs soundtrack as well.

3 out of 5 stars New Slang.......2007-05-03

This CD will get 3 stars because of the inclusion of the songs by the Shins, eels, Guided by Voices and Hallelujah by John Cale. The rest is fine, but not super.

5 out of 5 stars The BEST Soundtrack associated with Zach Braff!!!.......2007-04-15

This soundtrack is amazing!! Which if you know Scrubs then you know that it's a great show with great music. In my opinion you can't just talk about one of these songs because all of them are incredible. I've had this CD for months now and i still find myself listening to it at least once a day. Each song brings you back to some of the shows most memorable moments.Music is staple on Scrubs and it continues to be, so if you love and appreciate music, then this soundtrack is a must have!!!

5 out of 5 stars A must have .......2007-03-31

After watching every episode of SCRUBS (and then reruns), I knew I loved the quirky music it played. This CD compiles some of the best known and most popular tunes from the show.

Of course, Superman, the theme song is number one on the disc. I'm pleased with the variety of songs on this compilation. Fast, slow, and in between.

The Shins are a favorite group, as well.

If you want a good CD for traveling or cleaning house (boring!) try this one. It'll lift your mood.

    Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great song but............2005-07-09

I bought this CD Single for the version of No Scrubs with Lisa Left Eye Lopez since that version isnt on the album. It's on this one but it's edited. They edit the word ho and a&& out of the song. Example: (Cant get with no dead beat ***. (Ask Chili could I be a silly **.)
They take the words out of the song.
If this is the only version of the song available with Lisa Lopez then im satisfied, at least I have it but im a little disapointed with the editing.

5 out of 5 stars Their best song ever.......2005-01-25

This is their best song ever, easily. It is addictively catchy, and the sassy chorus is just so cool. No, I don't necessarily think they're dissing men in general or even men who don't get paid a lot. This is more about dissing guys who have no ambition, no goals in life, perverted lazy asses, basically (as heard in the intro to this song on Fanmail). Dude, if you wanna hear some really offensive lyrics towards men, listen to TLC's "Girl Talk." THAT is a song that goes too far with its disses. "No Scrubs" is sweet compared to that.

    5 out of 5 stars Simply Magical..........2003-06-16

This song has the most best and magical tune and best ever. The lyrics is kinda down and does disses alot of men out there. But come on, it's a song. Undoubtfully, it's my favourite song ever. The Left-Eye remix is a flawless piece of art, the tune is perfect, beat is great, wot more do u want? It's the best song out there!

    5 out of 5 stars Good.......2002-10-17

Usually, I don't find Lisa's raps the "highlight" of their songs, but it IS the highlight of this one, and it should have had this version on the album.
And you critical people... GEEEEEEEZ, it's just a song, first of all, and doesn't mean their dissing every guy out there (I don't feel dissed) and second of all, if they are dissing people, it's LAZY guys who they're talking about, not people who are struggling for money & stuff.

5 out of 5 stars They don't want No Scrubs!.......2000-10-12

TLC's R&B image will never fade away. The single "No Scrubs" is a proof. Here are the tracks: 1.) No Scrubs (Album Version) --- this is the "clean" version which doesn't express the words as freely as what is in the album. 2.) No Scrubs (Main Mix - featuring Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes) --- this is the reason why I bought this CD. The version on the video is the same as in here. The rap of Left-Eye really makes you groove up! 3.) No Scrubs (Instrumental) --- you can sing to it and dance with it! 4.) Silly Ho (Album Version) --- it's sort of a preview of the "Fanmail" album, because it is included on the highly-acclaimed record. Now, buy it! You won't ever be sorry!

    Album Description

You've heard the voice, with gone you'll meet the artist. Keren began carving her sound in the clubs of New York, leaving Miami one day after high school graduation. Playing feverishly in her adopted hometown, she built a strong and steady following. Keren shined in performances on the final Lilith Fair and sang with punk troubadour Jonathan Richman (There's Something About Mary) on his record "I'm So Confused", produced by The Cars' Ric Ocasek. Keren continued to blaze new trails when she recently wrote and was featured in an article for Seventeen Magazine depicting the realities of being a girl in the boy's guitar world. tracks from this record have also recently been featured on nbc's "scrubs" and "miss match", and have consistently caused reactions on message boards and emails, all asking, "who's that girl?" She recently appeared on nbc's srubs as a singing nurse as well.

gone is a bold statement about the songwriting strengths of a girl who's not afraid to dictate the terms of her world. Her songs channel a painful journey of love and loss. "see ya around" asks in perfect harmonies with layers of crunching guitars, "what did you find on your way home?". keren's voice can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up then transform you to a place where you throw your hands in the air waving your favorite 80's rock symbol. her music tears down traditional genre lines, easily merging pop, rock, punk, and electronic tones, providing a new and unique musical force to be reckoned with by a variety of audiences.

gone is an album with well-crafted melodies effortlessly leading one pop hook into another. a complete album in the traditional sense, gone combines pop sensibilities with serious guitar driven hooks. with a pink Gibson SG and the stilettos to match, keren is the real deal, here and ready to take over.

    5 out of 5 stars Great Album.......2005-06-20

I love every song on this CD. Keren's songs are great listening and beautifully written. Everytime I play the CD to a friend they love it! Must have for anyone's CD collection.

    5 out of 5 stars Awesome Sound.......2005-06-18

I cannot get enough if this CD. I lisen to it every day. I love Keren's voice. She is definitely an up and coming artist that you MUST listen to!

5 out of 5 stars Saw her at CBGBs.......2004-09-23

I was in the East Village when i stopped in CBGBs for the hell of it, and Keren was playing.

I'm not much for love songs (i'm more GodSmack, RAGE, and System), but to this chick's credit, she's tight. Good presence, solid tunes, rocked it out, and whatdaya freaking know- she can sing! I bought her album- the song "Boy on TV" is excellent. Hopefully, she won't sell out, and this is a good sign of things to come from Keren.

If only these popmills would discover people like this, there'd be more good music out there... and I could suspend my self imposed exile from radio.

5 out of 5 stars The Next Big Thing, check it out.......2004-03-16

This CD is awesome! Not only does it restore my faith in female singer-songwriters to write and play great songs, but I remembered how fun it is to listen to rock music! Keren has the voice, the style, and the songs that are universally likeable and enjoyable. I especially like Boy on TV, Save Me, and Sunday. I highly recommend this album to everyone, and I can't wait to see Keren live. p.s. her website is pretty cool too, so if you love the album, check out the site!

4 out of 5 stars TLC's new start with the old flava!.......2002-12-09

TLC have certainly proved that they can come back stronger than ever even with the pressure of three very sucessful albums and the death of Lisa Lopes.
GIRL TALK is fresh and sassy and is NO SCRUBS part2. The girls are discussing the mans package and what girls get up to and talk about(as if we didn't already know!) It is one of four new tracks of TLC'S new album that feat Left Eye who raps in the middle of the song and adds a few 'yeahs' and 'uh' in the chourus. This song will have you up and jumpin and is very catchy. Admitedly it is not their best song ever but with songs like WATERFALLS, UNPRETTY NO SCRUBS, DIGGIN ON YOU etc it would be hard to beat them but thay come mighty close! GIRL TALK just misses a certain something that makes TLC songs what they are for example you can only listen to this song for a few listens before getting bored of it, you wouldn't with their other songs! However, the song has a excellent beat and the lyrics are really funny and a bit rude!
This CD also features two of TLC's bigger hits NO SCRUBS and WATERFALLS. Every one knows these songs but if they aren't in your record collection by now they will be when you pick up this CD.
Lets just hope that T-Boz and Chilli and continue TLC for a long time to come even without Left Eye because lets face it. It just wouldn't be the same in the music world without them!

2 out of 5 stars "scrubs" are related to columbine?.......1999-10-08

Okay, well, to each his own, I guess, but I think it's very unfair to consider this a tool of the Columbine massacre. How do you go from blaming Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Eminem (even if I don't like their music, it's rediculous to judge), and then go to TLC?

In case you hadn't noticed, art imitates life just as much as life imitates art. Of course we are influenced by what we see. How can we not be? We have eyes. If you see a Burger King ad, you might want to go to Burger King. How does that send you into a crowded school with a gun?

The song isn't extremely amazing. In fact, it's tired already, but to claim that this started one of the saddest days this year, no matter how indirectly, is just ludicris.
