A patented water filter system gets the flavor started right: water passes through the filter, through the heating elements, and up to the spout to where it drops through the coffee and the gold filter (included with the coffeemaker). This coffeemaker also features flavor strength settings--light to strong--that control the amount of water dripped through the grounds. Other features include a 24-hour digital clock to preprogram when the coffeemaker should start to brew and an automatic 4-hour shutoff, which means no more worrying on your way into work about whether you turned off the coffee pot. The other wonderful feature about the coffeemaker is that the 12-cup pot can be removed, midbrew, in case you're anxious for that first cup.
