George Orwell meets John Cleese.......2002-04-07

Listening to this album, or any Culture Shock/Citizen Fish song is an escape into the unknown where boundaries have been destroyed and rule has ceased to be. The singers melodical, aggressive lyrics swim around in the quick guitar riffs, bouncing bass and snapping drum beats. Listening to this band opens your mind to the harsh realities of the present and to the more prevelant future. Be careful when you listen to these guys, you might actually learn something. They've combined wit, wisdom and intelligence with wonderfully brilliant reggae/ska music to give you something more powerful than an enima.

much as Dick of the Subhumans and Citizen Fish loves to tell us of the evolution of man from the fish, this seminal reggae/ska-influenced political punk band is the missing link between the righteous anger of the former, and the more laid back, Douglas Adams-esque perspective of the latter. fully as good as either the subhumans or citizen fish, yet strangely overlooked. must-have for all interested in this category of music.

What I don't get it is, how did they only come out with ONE cd? This cd is definitely high-quality, and hardly no one knows about it. It's worth the three Happy Meals that you pay for. Go for it.

Culture Shock.......2000-09-30

Great band, great album. 4WF, Butterglove, Kenmores, Breadwinner, & The Alternatives should have put Richmond on the map. Giving this album a listen almost makes me miss RVA. Good job Taylor, glad to see ya'll on Amazon.

sXe hardcore at its best.......1999-08-21

4 Walls Falling is one of the best hardcore bands I've ever heard. Reminds me of '88 style youth crew bands like Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today. Good political lyrics dealing with the environment, animal rights, and other left-wing stuff. Definitely a must-buy.

I am also looking for the soundtrack to the 1982 film, Summer Lovers. The soundtrack featured a variety of contemporary artists including Elton John (Take Me Down To the Ocean), Michael Sembello (Title song), Stephen Bishop (If Love Takes You away), Tina Turner (Johnny & Mary, 1 of 2 songs), Heaven 17 (Play to Win), Depeche Mode (I just can't Get Enough), Chicago (Hard to Say Im Sorry) and score music by Basil Poledouris. Only a couple of these songs are available elsewhere, unfortunately.

Good Solid Compilation.......2000-07-25

This compilation from Tomatohead Records features many solid bands from the USA and a few other countries, most notably Japan and Canada. Though the bands on the CD aren't very well known, there are a some really outstanding songs on this compilation. The tracks by Snail Ramp and Blindspot are nice ska songs, while other tracks by Nicotine and Luckie Strike are nice punk tunes. This CD is worth buying, and because of it's low price there's really no reason you shouldn't be able to buy it.
