Not very good!.......2002-06-06

If you're a fan of Stoney Cooper, Carl Butler, or The Louvin Brothers, then I don't recommend this CD! The 3 songs from these artists are re-recordings instead of the original hit versions! Carl Butler has totally lost his voice on Don't Let Me Cross Over, and the song is just horrible compared to his original recording of the song. The other two aren't bad, but a re-recording never stands up to the original recording!

THIS IS MY SECOND PURCHASE OF THIS CD. IT HAS ALOT OF THE COUNTRY SONGS THAT I GREW UP LISTENING TO. THE SONGS ARE PERFORMED BY THE ORIGNINAL ARTIST AND SOUND ABSOLUTLEY GREAT. THIS IS A MUST ESPECIALLY FOR LONG TRIPS BECAUSE YOU CAN PLAY IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE ARE 10 TOTAL IN THE COLLECTION...GET THEM ALL!!

This is "Kevin Slow Jammin" James and I want to thank everybody who bought the Slow Jams "The Timeless Collection" Series. One of my dreams was fulfilled by being able to do this project. Unfortunately most of the volumes have been cut out by the "Right Stuff" label. I thank them and you for this incredible chance to bring back forgotten music.

Another strong set in the series.......2006-12-03

There are many classics among these 13, which groups numbers by stand-up vocal acts and self-contained bands. While most numbers never charted, the sensuous and compassionate "Lady You Are" by One Way produced the highest outing (Billboard #5). However, during the '70s and early '80s, quality R&B/soul material was not given the attention it warranted, and there was much music to qualify. The euphonious, flowing "Just Shopping (Not Buying Anything)" by the Dramatics is a harmonious display of vocalizing. Taken from their second album Straight to the Point, it is hard to believe that Atlantic Starr's "Losing You" made no waves upon its release in late 1979. Nonetheless, the sweet, merciful number remains a constant favorite on the Quiet Storm format. Here too, a young Howard Hewett can be heard in his mesmerizing falsetto and natural tone on Shalamar's "Somewhere There's a Love." And for a song to never chart, Earth, Wind & Fire's "Love's Holiday," which is featured on the album All 'N All, received considerable airplay during the album's reign. The sleeper on this set is "Country Girl" by the Nighters; filled with a lush string arrangement and serenading vocals, this six-man group is reminiscent of the Stylistics. This is a good addition to any collection.

The Atlantic Starr song "losing you" is a classic, Real Love is a great find and This is probably the best in this wonderful series.
