I have always loved the sound of the Harpsichord and for many years hearing poorly recorded or played Harpsichord this treasure is a must have. From the fine compositions to the good sound quality this CD is definately a keeper.

I love the sound of this most unusual instrument, the harpsichord. Especially the fast intricately melodic songs. Very enjoyable. This "Greatest Hits" includes many compositions perfectly suited to this wonderful old predecessor to the piano. There's even a little funny trivia thrown in: on the song sheet is written: Q:"what did the famous conductor Sir Thomas say that the harpsichord sounds like? A: "Like two skeletons screwing on a hot tin roof" :)

This is a fun cd. BYRD, BULL, BACH ETC come through great Scarlatti bits sound like a flock of unhappy cows running of a field of burnt popcorn but those bits generally do unless played on the African Kalimba [or thumb piano] in Africa where I need not hear them.

This is a well engineered CD. Many featuring the harpsichord demand a level of equipment beyond that of any regular person with bills, which means this disk sounds just fine on a boom box. Everybody in the family will like some part of this disk `cept for the 13 year old whose lost to punk rock or hip hop.

I can't imagine a better sampler of harpsichord 'hits' played by one of the great stereo-era masters. A full complement of emotions is displayed here, from the most delicate and sparing texture to the most rip-roaring martial roar. If you're wondering what the harpsichord is about, or if you're already a fan and want a great sampler to play for your own delight and amusement, you cannot go wrong with this recording.

The second volume of Kylie's popular remix series.......2005-06-03

This is the second volume of Kylie's extremely popular remix series and personally, I think it is the best of all four. Of course, all four are worth buying if you are a fan of Kylie's older music, or extended remixes in particular. These remixes span a four-year period from 1988-1992, which is Kylie's PWL era, with Stock, Aitken and Waterman, now down to a duo with the exit of Aitken. It features some spectacular remixes and hits.

Enjoy lots of Kylie's earlier hits, including Got To Be Certain, Especially For You (duet with Jason Donavon), Hand On Your Heart, Better The Devil You Know, The Loco Motion, Give Me Just A Little More Time, Finer Feelings and more. Not only is this a incredible and popular remix series, the second volume features four UK #1's - Especially For You, Hand On Your Heart, Tears On My Pillow, and I Should Be So Lucky is included in Kylie's Smiley Mix (Extended), which also features I'll Still Be Loving You, It's No Secret (single in Japan), Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, Turn It Into Love and Got To Be Certain.

There are some really high points on this brilliant double-disc remix set, featuring extended versions of such hits as Got To Be Certain, Hand On Your Heart, Better The Devil You Know and Shocked. Also featured are some really heartfelt ballads, such as Say The Word - I'll Be There and Especially For You. Other high points included Kylie's best Techno moments - Do You Dare and Keep On Pumpin' It Up with Tony King and the Visionmasters. The full version of Finer Feelings remixed by Brothers In Rhythm was included, and the hit Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi gets a complete makeover!

More highlights included the extended megamix which included six of Kylie's biggest PWL hits jam-packed into a six minutes. This megamix included Turn It Into Love, which was a big #1 in Japan. Getting Closer is also very rare so to have it on this remix collection was a real treat! There is also a slightly different version of I'm Over Dreaming (Over You) that appears on this remix set for the first time. This song was originally found on Kylie's second album Enjoy Yourself. Bare in mind this collection also includes two different versions of Got To Be Certain too - an Extended Version and a Karaoke Version! (Out For A Duck, Bill, Platter Plus Dub Mix)

I'd recommend this fabulous collection of remixes to anyone who likes Kylie's earlier music, to anyone who likes remixes or to anyone who would like a decent remix set in their CD collection. I would also recommend that you pick up Volumes one, three and four too, and buy other remix albums by the likes of Mariah Carey, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

KYLIE'S GREATEST REMIX HITS VOL. 2 seeks to "fill in the gaps" left by the first volume, and it succeeds very well. Especially welcome on this volume are remixes from Kylie's "forgotten" second album, ENJOY YOURSELF; the remixes of "Wouldn't Change A Thing" and "Hand On Your Heart" are as good as you'd hope they'd be. The standout remix, of course, is the Mad March Hare version of "Better The Devil You Know," which is a much better remix of this classic than the so-called "U.S. Version" that's found on the earlier KYLIE'S REMIXES (from 1993). As with the first volume, discerning Kylie collectors should be aware that some of the tracks on the new REMIX HITS were previously released on KYLIE'S REMIXES. But the new version of "Better The Devil You Know" is, all by itself, plenty of reason to spend the money on this new compilition. Also take note of a very different version of "The Loco-Motion", the "Kylie's Smiley Mix" (which squeezes the highlights of her first album into a seven-minute link), the B-track "Getting Closer" (no relation to the later song CLOSER), and another B-track, "Say The Word--I'll Be There." Kylie's moved a long way from the music of her youth, and most of her fans are (overly?) glad of the change, but if you still remember how to smile, by all means spend the money on GREATEST REMIX HITS, VOL. 2.

VARIETY OF EXPRESSIONS.......2001-01-23

I RATED THIS CD 5 STARS BECAUSE ITS EXPRESSES THE WAY PEOPLE FEEL AND ITS DAY TO DAY EXPERIENCES MEN AND WOMEN ACTUALLY HAVE AND IF SOMEONE CANT EXPRESS THEMSELVES ON THEIR OWN THEY CAN USE ANY OF THE SONGS ON THIS CD BECAUSE IT HAS SOME OF THE BEST FREESTYLE. AND LISTENING TO THIS CD RELAXES ME BECUASE I KNOW SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT BE FEELING THE SAME. "FREESTYLE" IS A FREE WAY OF EXPRESSION AND THIS C.D IS PHAT. YOUR GONNA WANT TO LISTEN TO IT OVER AND OVER.

Lot of hits, but..........2002-11-10

...the problem is that the tracks are cut so that each song bleeds into the next, which is great for playing at parties, but bad if you want to record your own mixes. Trying to "stitch" the parts together doesn't always work either, so if you want to mix your own, find another compilation.

Great selection of songs.......2002-11-07

I can't belive I found an album that has "Here We Go Again" by Portrait and "Don't Wanna Fall In Love" by Jane Child!!! Two obscure songs that are almost not found anywhere else in 90's compilations. I give this cd 5 stars for creating a compilation with some hard to find rare gems. Many other great dance songs. See for yourself!!

I LOVED THIS!.......1998-07-28

I was pleasantly and totally surprised when I bought this CD which is a compilation of dance covers of basically Hot AC music.... In fact, I prefer most of these versions over the original. I didn't buy the first volume as it looked pretty lame, but can't wait until the third comes out.
