    Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Sweet and sour........2006-12-29

Ms. Jordan is certainly a unique character. She's a woman who knows what she wants out of life and isn't afraid to tell you about it in graphic detail. I've seen her described as a "ball-buster" but I don't feel like that's fair; she seems like a strong woman but I don't think that makes her fit that "buster" label.

Her humor is, as I mentioned earlier, salty. A good deal of profanity, sexual humor, and some odd scatological humor revolving around her dog; she's also obviously been burned by men and refers to the fact often. While a great deal of what she says is very funny, I can't help feeling like it'd be funnier if I could relate to it (which, as a twenty-something man, I find difficult on this album). The main reason this album didn't score higher with me is because of her "Ms. Pepper" persona, adopted at the end of the album for a series of jokes. Ms. Pepper is who she says she'll be when she gets older: a washed-out, used-up Vegas lounge performer with an assumed stage name. The voice she uses makes me cringe and I find that I'd much rather skip those tracks than listen - which is a shame, there are some good jokes hidden under that irritating guise.

If you're a man, you probably should move on. If you're a woman who likes plain (and strong) talk about women and their issues, by all means try this album.
