It's true that "nobody walks in L.A.," but this '80s-rock exercise collection could change all that. The Missing Persons song is missing, for obvious reasons, but that only makes room for what (by rock-of-the-'80s-compilation standards) is a relatively inspired selection. Tracks like Talk Talk's "It's My Life" and ABC's "Be Near Me" are as timeless as synth-driven pop songs can be, while Q-Feel's "Dancing in Heaven" and Yello's "Oh Yeah" are unusual choices that ratchet up the quirky novelty factor. Of course, there's also Re-Flex's "The Politics of Dancing" and the Romantics' "Talking in Your Sleep"--songs that have been so overplayed that some could go a lifetime without needing to hear them again. Even so, this mega-mix of one-hit wonders and other '80s artifacts will have you rolling up those blazer sleeves and hitting the pavement in no time. --Bill Forman

Great CD for biking, also!.......2006-12-10

I used this while riding my exercise bike and, while I am not a huge fan of 80's music, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was motivated to ride longer than usual. The songs are seamlessly arranged so I didn't skip a beat. It starts out slow (130bpm), goes up to 138bpm and ends with 130bpm. I came here to find more!

Very Good Walking Music.......2005-09-07

This cd is on rotation with my workout music on my treadmill and most of the songs are very motivating for me. Only a couple of songs get tedious for me. Good beat and fast-paced.

MY KIND OF MUSIC THEN....AND NOW!.......2003-09-01

I haven't heard a lot of these songs since the mid 80's in high school. Hearing them now, and working out to them now, make me strive harder to get back to the shape I was in back then!! If you loved new wave music then this is a must have!!!

Good music for children of the 80's.......2002-11-19

This is a fun and motivating CD for all of us who grew up in the 80's. The songs are pretty fast-paced, but the music is up-beat so the workout goes fast.

I made a fool of myself..........2001-08-03

... singing and "dance-walking" along the boardwalk at Jones Beach State Park last weekend. This CD is packed with the music of my club years. The beat is FAST. With my short little legs I generally do this particular 4 mile walk in an hour, but with this CD I finished (with blisters) at around 50 minutes. I also popped it in the player at a poolside party on Sunday afternoon and my fellow 40-somethings thoroughly embarrassed their children by dancing on the deck (without the assistance of alcohol!) the rest of the afternoon.

This is a great workout CD, I'm so glad I bought it. It has all my favorite "club" hits from back in the day - and it's so much fun to workout to. I use it on the cardio machines, and it makes the time go by so much faster. Highly recommend! :)

I really liked it!.......2003-11-19

I'm an aerobics instructor. The music is a bit fast for step aerobics at @136 beats per minute, but if you have the equipment to slow it down a notch, it works great. You could also use it at regular speed for regular aerobics and of course walking. It keeps you going for an entire hour. I really like "Its my Life" and "Beautiful Life". Really good workout music.

A must have!.......2003-04-01

This CD really gets me going - it has a great mix of tunes at just the right speed. The music brings back memories of my pre-baby "skinny nights" out at the clubs. My advice: Crank up this CD and slap an old picture of yourself in your cutest club going outfit on your treadmill - MAJOR INCINTIVE!
