Without a doubt, this is the greatest album cover of all time. The title, the photo, the expressions, the weird censorship. I even like the fonts. I saw this album as an LP when I was a kid (this would NOT be a parentally-sanctioned purchase), and fantasized about it for years, never having heard it. When I finally found the CD reissue, whoa mama! Content-wise it's not especially shocking or laugh-out-loud funny today, very much like Redd Foxx's act. They actually perform some of the same routines on their albums. La Wanda's unmistakable voice and the shriekingly enthusiastic audience are priceless. It's like sitting through a beautiful filth sermon in the church of dirty jokes. A sure sleaze pick-me-up for a drab day.
