Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Phantom of the opera (Karaoke).......2003-05-08

I've got the CD six month ago.
If you're a phantom fan you might find that the arrangement
is different from the origional cast CD. First, the organ sounded bad in the song "phanotm of the opera". Secondly, the drumming of "The phantom of the opera" is different. The arrangement form "in all your fantasy" doesn't fit the mood. If you're the expert of the arrangement you'll notice the difference and you'll probably not used to the mood of that part. Since that part suppose to be a important transition of mood. The key is as same as the origional arrangement. For "Music of the night" the beginning is slightly faster than the origional cast one.
However, I recommend the guild voice track of the song "phantom of the opera." The girl who play Christine sounded great, the guy who plays the phantom is skillful at acting at the very end when he seduce Christine to sing higher and higher.

i recieved this cd a few weeks ago for my birthday and i thought it was brilliant i had so much fun pretending i was christine Da'ee though i wish i had her voice as dose the rest of my family! My advice is that if you like musicals and love huming them to yourself by this!
