Cynical types will accuse Disney of milking the "greatest" concept until it's drier than Tinkerbell's fairy dust ("Supercalafragilisticexpealidocious," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da," and "Heigh Ho" were hits off of Vol. 1; "Bare Necessities," "It's a Small World," and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" stole the show on Vol. 2), but a glimpse of this installment's track listing is all it'll take to squash their suspicions. Once again running reverse-chronologically, Vol. 3 opens with Jonatha Brooke's gorgeously achy ballad "I'll Try," from 2002's arguably not-so-great Return to Neverland, and gradually reaches back through the years to re-raise the curtain on Toy Story 2 ("When She Loved Me," performed by Sarah McLachlan), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"), Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews's classic "A Spoonful of Sugar"), Pinocchio ("Give a Little Whistle"), and a bundle of treasured others, bottoming out at 1933's "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from The Three Little Pigs. Vol. 3 is not without its weak moments--would a G-rated movie-goers' poll produce Beauty and the Beast's "Gaston" or The Hunchback of Notre Dame's "Topsy Turvy" on a hits list? Seems unlikely. Still, the bulk of these tracks are, as the included Little Mermaid song goes, "Part of Your World," and the spread of decades they represent proves their staying power. Don't expect Disney to latch the lid on its inexhaustible archives until a dozen or so of these records, each as strong as the next, beckon you back for more. --Tammy La Gorce

This is one of the better volums for kids and for those who are
above 18 but still have some kid in them

Timeless Disney Music.......2007-05-07

Nothing brings sweet recollection of Disney movies like hearing the wonderful songs. In an age where there so much music with no redeeming qualities, these Disney CDs are priceless. Wonderful for the entire family to listen to around the house or in the car while traveling. We can't help but sing along. We love that these are the original tracks from the movies! Wonderful! We now have all three volumes.

Disney songs are the best.......2006-03-18

I love the songs on this volume. I'll Try by Jonatha Brooke is such an amzing somg. I especially bought this CD fort that song but, was pleasantly surprsed by the rest of the playlist.

Great Disney Music.......2006-02-21

I have bought the first 2 volumes of Disney's Greatest Hits and the 3rd volume doesn't disapoint. My 2 young children love to listen to this CD and talk about the movies that they come from. A definate must have!

Not as good as Vol 1 and Vol 2.......2005-09-11

This Disney CD represents the "leftovers" that didn't make it on Vol 1 and Vol 2 of this series. Although it has some of my favorites, I don't listen to the entire CD often. Disney could have done a better job of editing the which sound files should make the cut on this one. Still, it's nice to have all 3 CDs.

A lyrical master, a stage presence that bites at you,

I first saw Jim Page perform in 1970. He has perservered

Truth in lyric.......2002-12-03

I've known Jim's work for many years, and I'm never dissappointed to hear his latest opinion on life, politic and the day today struggles of peoples.
As we are drawn into yet another war which will take our young and the young and families of others. We must know that as the bodies are buried here, and there, they will have died to preserve our life style, our freedom of the roads and most important of all, the bottom lines
Jim reflects the truths of our age through his music to eager ears worldwide. We might all stop an listen.

Makes Dylan Seem Like Brittany Spears.......2002-05-23

Years ago, Jim Page used to sing and strum for change out in front of the HUB at the U.W. in Seattle, where he caught an audience from people in between classes. He'd ad lib lyrics depending on who walked by. If he'd recorded some of those live performances they'd be classics now.

From this album I'm partial to Down to Eugene.

The guy's counter-culturally insightful, humorous, and a genuine creative genius. I'm hoping he's working on some WTO/Sept 11 lyrics to capture the times in his dead-on, inimitable way.

His songs tell the tale of the alternative generation rarely heard and often ignored by popular radio. His earlier CD, "More than anything in the world" is a 5+ and I if you can't get it on-line make the trip to Tower Records in Seattle and you will be glad you did.

The most sophisticated and diverse hardcore punk band.......2003-09-16

Rhythm Pigs are the best hardcore punk band i ever heard. They started in El Paso, Texas in 1983 and this cd contains their first two albums, Rhythm Pigs(1985) and Choke On This(1987). The first is more complex(but still listenable)and the second is faster, more melodic hardcore. Both of them are excellent with lots of great ideas, incredible melodies and power. Everything in this band is amazing. The guitar player(Greg Adams must be one of the best in hardcore), the rhythm section, Ed Ivey's voice and generally the songwriting and their musical skills. Every song on this cd is a masterpiece and different from each other. You can not descripe their music with just one word. There are elements of funk, country-western and emo-core which i believe they invented. Another thing i love in this band is their positive feeling. It's not the classic angry, negative attitude. When the cd ends you feel so good, like you are in heaven. Rhythm Pigs is the band that put hardcore in another dimension, started something new and did it with so much talent than no one else did. I am a big fun of 80s hardcore and my collection is big. Trust me , you will not hear any better melodic hardcore punk from this. Every one who likes good hardcore and has an open mind must buy this cd now. RHYTHM PIGS ARE PURE MAGIC.
