SAM FROM HELL???.......2006-07-13
Nah....he only likes to do his funniest work about our fear's and woes....in reality Sam Kinison was a true Christian, and I hope God had a great sense of humor.
CAPTAIN KANGAROO WAS A LOOOOOOSER!!!!!.......2006-01-20
You think he really wanted to be Captain Kangaroo? You think he wanted to be Captain f***in Kangaroo for fifty years? FIFTY F'in YEARS.He was always so deppressed "Hi kids, we got a good show for you today." Remember that haircut? Those F****IN MUTTON CHOPS!? You know when he got home every night his wife would have something to say. "YOU'RE NOT A REAL ACTOR, YOU LOOOOSER!!! LOOK AT YOU, YOU'RE A LOOOOOOOSER!!!!"
Oh man, I'm making an ass of myself at work because all of the reveiws for this CD have lines from the stand up, and they are all making me lose control, I'm cracking up here. The one about Jeffrey Dalmer, the one about the Turks. The one about building a McDonalds in Russia. I gotta stop reading this. I won't reveal the bits in my review, I wouldn't want YOU to make such an ass of yourself, if you are sitting at a desk, with all those lame-o's looking at you. HAVEN'T THEY EVER HEARD OF SAM KINISON?!! I'M IN HELL!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
Get this. All of his CDs are friggin' awesome
I've laughed a million times over to this one, its the BEST!
Oh Wilbert, what did I do, oh Wilbert what did I do?.......2005-10-05
Sam Kinison, this is FUNNY AS HELL! Live From Hell is funny, I remember watching Sam on his HBO comedy specials a long time ago, and when I FINALLY got this album, I laughed my ass off! Sam touches on everything on this album; Arnold sucking d*ck, the homeless "Execute the homeless! SHOOT THEM!" the Kurd's "Hey I know, why don't we cross the hill and cross the bridge where there is no food and no place to take care of our kids. Ahaahah. I love that commercial 'Why don't you help the Kurd's?' yeah why don't you b**w me?" from Rap "I brought one rap tape, just to be fair, I brought 2 Live Crew's Nasty As We Wanna Be. There was one song on there called 'Suck my D**k' another one was called 'Get The f*ck Out Of My House'" Also he talks about the Joan River's show, he talks about BJ (guys, you know what I am talking about) and also the 100 hour war...so I'll give you some advice, GET THIS ALBUM!!!
WILL SOMEBODY CALL 9-1-1?..........2005-09-15
...because I split my sides laughing so hard. Sam Kinison is the funniest S.O.B. to grace God's green earth. compare him to other comedians. Jeff Foxworthy: that redneck crap is getting long in the tooth. he's too clean. Larry The Cable Guy: Get-R-Done and get off the stage. he's too clean. I can listen to this Kinison CD over and over again and still bust my guts laughing. it is so funny when he shouts when he's doing his bit in a skit called "Pee Trough" and he starts talking about Jeffery Dahmer and he says "WILL SOMEONE CALL 9-1-1? WILL SOMEONE CALL 9-1-1? JESUS GOD! HE'S LOOKING AT MY A** AS IF IT'S A SPARE RIB. HE'S ABOUT TO TURN MY A** INTO A BUTT STEAK. WILL SOMEONE CALL 911?" I can't help but laugh. I wish he was still alive.
The Pee Trough.......2005-06-09
I love this album. I'm glad they reissued it though I haven't gotten the reissue yet. I agree with one of the previous posters that it is a real pain to FF through the CD to try to find a bit you want to hear without listening to the whole album. This is Sam trying to get a little more topical with his take on the Gulf War and the homeless and less about sex and his ex-wives. He's not on top of his game like he is on Louder Than Hell, he kind of meanders at points, drifting from one topic to another without any real linear connection. Sometimes he'll kind of mumble and not complete a sentence. All in all though this is must for any Kinson/comedy fan. It is also cool to hear him in an intimate setting again at a small comedy club in Houston. "Have You Seen Me Lately" was obviously recorded in a big venue and though Sam did these as good if not the best of any stand up, I like the small personal setting of a small club. I would rate this as my #2 Kinison album under "Louder Than Hell". Close call with "Have You Seen Me Lately" though. "Leader of the Banned" I think everyone would agree is by far at the bottom. The second half being Sam singing hard rock songs, come on. And the first half of comedy isn't his best either.

Great CD, except it is too short! Not for kids
One of Sam's best!.......2001-10-27
This came out after Sam Kinison died and it still makes me laugh after countless listenings. This gets raw at times and his remedy for the homeless situation will either be one of the funniest things you ever heard or one of the most offensive. I think it's one of the funniest. Bob Hope fans stay away but the rest of us will listen and remember a true comic genius.
This CD is good........2000-12-15
Its really good, If you wanna know why, Look at the other reviews, But I gave it 4 stars because ITS ALL ON ONE TRACK! you cant switch to a different part. But it is really funny.

Fast and furious!.......2004-06-24
Lee Press-On and the Nails do have a humor, much more than The New Morty Show. The album is recorded live! Tom Beyer (stand-up bass) played on Mortified album of New Morty Show. It contains mostly well known covers (like Sing, Sing, Sing, Caldonia, Pennies From Heaven, ...) but very fast versions that goes even faster, and three originals (Big Pants Dance, Deal Me In, Mississippi Darling). It includes not mentioned bonus track Jumpin'Jive.
Manic Swing from Hell.......2003-08-06
This album totally bowled me over. It is high-energy, blistering swing and it hits you right from the first note. Even folks who might not be predisposed to big-band or the swing revival of the 90s ought to give this a listen because it brings almost a punk rock mania to big-band classics, rock-and-roll songs you never thought would be covered in a big-band context, and some cool originals.
Highly recommend this CD. It always engenders a response when I throw it on the stereo.
SWING OR DIE, BABY!!!.......2001-06-03
This album seriously kicks!!! I think that Swing is Dead has some cooler songs, but I really like the whole live recording thing. Makes me feel like I'm there. LPN FOREVER BABY!
As entertaining as Hannibal Lecter at a dinner party!.......2001-03-31
'Swing is Dead' is definitely better. That said, this CD is a lot of fun. I got 'Swing is Dead' first, and had the benefit of several months playing it almost constantly to prepare me for this one. Unfortunately, I chose to play it for the first time at work. I'm fairly sure my boss now thinks I'm insane, due to the periodic hysterical giggling emanating from my cubicle as I listened. If you already like LPN, get this CD. They produce classic LPN style along with hilarious commentary, and all while (I suspect) half the band is completely hammered. If you're new to LPN, get 'Swing is Dead' first. You'll be better able to appreciate this one afterwards.
what is this?.......2000-04-04
Do not buy this C.D! I am a swing fanatic, I read about the group in a book. Lee seemed very knowledgable about swing, and also seemed like he would put out a good C.D. When I purchased it I had very high hopes. After about the fifth song I had to take it out. The vocals are terrible, his voice is nassaly and is modeled after bad punk bands. I went back and re-read the interview and found out that infact some of his influences were bad punk bands such as "Gwar." The band modelled thier music after punk so much that it sounded like a punk band with a couple of horns. I know that sounds like a ska band but its not. This band destroyed classic songs like"Powerhouse," and "Sing,Sing,Sing," and "I'm beginning to see the light." The only good thing about the band is that Lee is very, very, very fashionable. Better luck next time,
Felix O'Connor.

Customer Reviews:
Hilarious Surprise.......2004-11-19
This is an album with style. There aren't any mainstream comics that have this kind of style, this intellect to just pull things from out of nowhere, a flow of ideas. The first disc is great, and gets even better when you learn by reading the liner notes or listening to his act, this show was a huge deal for him as a comedian, in terms of size and technique. Add onto that his drinking problem, the only problem he doesn't mention in his act. To hear about more personal things, the second CD is a really strange one-time-only interview kind of thing where Richard just goes off on these nervous, off the wall rants. I think it's a good comic's CD, beginning comics that haven't had much experience, the things he talks about on the road and performing, it has an appeal to the few maniacs that want to attempt standup comedy. Even the stilted, catchphrase kind of comedy (I know, "From hell," a catchphrase that's said all over the album, but it's not the joke, it the means to a joke), even this mindless pandering to the audience requires some sort of brain malfunction. I would highly recommend you buy this seemingly unknown comedy gem, turn off Comedy Central and listen to a rare thing...SOMETHING FROM THE EIGHTIES THAT ISN'T UTTER CRAP. THANK YOU RICHARD, THANK YOU.God Bless George Bush And His Fight Against Evolution.
he's a great guy.......2001-11-28
I met him personally at the airport in mpls.
I'm a skycap and a comedian. And we could easily relate to one another.
I laughed and then I didn't.......2001-07-31
I liked the first CD a lot. It kicked was hilarious. This is one amazingly disturbed man. But because of that he's so funny. His family stuff is the best. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because of the second CD. It wasn't really funny. It was more of an interview. Bill Zehme just kept ... up to him. Although the Sinatra Story on the second CD made me cry it was so funny. Its worth the money. I suggest getting Lewis Black's CD. That is funnier.
The Funniest Comedy CD I've Ever Heard!.......2001-02-14
I was too young to have appreciated his humor back in the 80's but his early gig on this CD in like a crazed, gunslinger "from hell" ...but it's the 2nd and more recent weirdness in Lewis's head that Zehme brings out of him that is for me the coolest comedy album I have ever heard. I have played it over and over and each time some new, weird references destroy me. He's great live and the first CD rocks but the interview is the weirdest, wildest, most bizarrely funny comedy album I've ever heard. Thank God I'm not him but thank God he's able to say what he does. Richard Lewis has to be from another planet.
Too Good To Be True!.......2001-02-14
Man..this is really a great package! I have been a Richard Lewis fan since college and never knew why he didn't have CD's (just some monologues from Comic relief)--only videos...well the wait is over and wow-- it was well worth it! It's totally insane! It's the best! The hard-to-find first disk is one of the funniest concerts he ever did but to hear him now free-wheeling with that great writer-interviewer, Bill Zehme, in-studio live,is totally amazing and unlike anything I ever heard from a comedy CD. I mean, it's like the best of the old Lewis and the best of the new Lewis. I just happened to read his first book, "The Other Great Depression" and was blown away at how funny and revealing Mr.Lewis allowed himself to be and this double CD is like the knock-out punch. I can't imagine any fan of the "Prince of Pain" not devouring this CD. Thank God for Live Archive. Long live the "Prince"! Keep knocking out the new riffs, Richard, and stay sober if this new you keeps rockin'! Man, this is like too good to be true!

Motorhead - 'Iron Fist &The Hordes From Hell' (Cleopatra).......2004-10-08
I was going to give this CD a three star rating, but I decided to give it four stars for two reasons.First, the newly done(for THIS release anyway)cover and the fact that I thought the live nine track gig sounds better that it did when it was ORIGINALLY put out on a $2.99 cassette under the title 'What's Words Worth?'.'Iron Fist...' was recorded at a gig the band played at the Roundhouse on February 18,1978 with,of course the classic Motorhead line-up of Lemmy on bass/vocals,Fast Eddie Clarke on guitar and Philthy Animal Taylor on drums.Make no mistake, this is pure vintage Motorhead and I honestly can believe there's nothing quite like it.The better tunes are "The Watcher"(sounds different than when Lemmy penned this tune for Hawkwind at the time),"Iron Horse/Born To Lose","I'm Your Witch Doctor" and "City Kids"(which used to be a Pink Fairies tune). There are even four pages of liner notes from acclaimed music critic Dave Thompson. You know, the one that's usually tough on all bands.
Lemmy has no groove, yet..........2000-06-17
It may have been a glimpse of the future at the time, but by today's standards (and Motorhead's) it just falls flat. It has some high points, but most of it is just drunk wailing. If you like that kind of thing. It's the calibre of your average bar band. I give it 3 stars, because I can't give it 2.5 .

Greetings From Hell!!.......2006-10-31
My first introduction to Erik Pietsch (Whaleshark) and I was hooked for life! Definitely not for the faint of heart or those who are easily offended. This is the way the Whaleshark should be enjoyed.... live and interacting with his fans. Makes me long for beaches and dive bars. I highly recommend that everyone see him live at least once, but if that is not possible, then this is the album to get.
