One of the top comics working for the last 19 years, and a Comedy Central staple, Nick Di Paolo was a regular on"Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn", the voice of "Baby Nick" on the animated series "Shorties Watchin' Shorties", He's roasted Pamela Anderson, Jeff Foxworthy and Denis Leary, to perfection and did one of the voices on "Crank Yankers". He's done two half hour specials on the network, many "Comics Come Home" benefits, as well as HBO's "Young Comedians Special". Talk shows include many appearances on Leno, Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Carson Daly and a regular guest and favorite on "The Howard Stern Show". Television appearances also include "Grace Under Fire", "News Radio" "The Sopranos", Spike TV, MTV, VH-1, ESPN, "The Chris Rock Show" (2 Emmy nominations) and HBO's upcoming series "Lucky Louie". He has also written for books, film and television, including The Academy Awards, MTV's Video Music Awards. FOR EXAMPLE, CAVATINA FROM THE DEER HUNTER, HMM GREAT MOVIE AND GREAT SONG. AND LETS NOT FORGET THE WAY WE WERE, COME ON THAT IS A CLASSIC. AND ITS HAS THE THEME FROM THE MOVIE ON GOLDEN POND, ALSO UNCHAINED MELODY FROM THE MOVIE GHOST.
BUT WHAT TOOK MY OFF MY SIT WAS THE SONG *WE ARE LOOSING HIM, FROM THE MOVIE SOMEWHERE IN TIME. LOOK THIS IS A GREAT CD, AND IT IS WORTH ALL.

Although the orchestration of the songs is well done, most of them simply were not meant to be performed by a chorus; and they sound terrible in that form. If you want some of the songs on this CD, I suggest you look at one of Disney's compilation CDs in the Classic Disney Vol. 1-5 series or the actual soundtracks of the movies.

A good memento of a time and place.......2005-09-21
The rest, recorded in 1978 and 1979, are much less successful. There is much oversinging, even screaming, in the louder choral passages, the choral sound in general is "woofy", not very in tune and unblended, in the fashion of much choral singing of the time, and the organ playing of Swann and McDonald as accompaniment is consistently too loud, even ugly in tone. The only articulate and beautiful playing on these earlier recordings is that of the late organist and harpsichordist Jerry Brainard, and he participates in only two selections! These recordings were made with three microphones, a stereo pair at the front and one at the back for ambience, in the dry acoustic Riverside had at the time (it has since been "corrected" to a soupy overreverberance), so microphoning was not the problem. This is a good represntation of the way this sounded at the time, according to listeners in the congregation.
Also, as was true of the original LP releases, the stereo image on the earlier recordings is reversed: left is right and right is left. I'm surprised that this error was not caught and corrected in the digital transfer. Much of the analog tape noise has been eliminated, but there is still quite a bit of audio distortion in the louder portions. On my copy, the CD's had some trackinig difficulties, even on a new player.

Detroit's Youth is Moving to the Top.......2005-10-19
I liked this one, cause the whole CD takes you on a ride frome the streets of Detroit to the streets of Japan! As soon as the first track started, the beat drops with a smooth catchy keyboard rhythmn that immediately catches the ear and the hook chimes in and draws the listener into the storeline. The production is simple yet well arranged and effective and never becomes monotonous thoughtout the whole CD. All the artists comes in with confidents, solid deliveries and livens things up even more. Their flows are polished and they all raps with passion which shows that they really feels what they are talking about on each track. Overall, I'm feeling this and the message is positive with out being preachy which makes it a pleasant listening experience. It's just flat out good music that makes the listener feel good like hip-hop is supposed to do. Keep up the good work guys! I can't wait till the next album drops.
