Ever want to get even with all those telemarketers that have given you an unwelcome ring? Listening to this disc might provide a hilarious and vicarious sense of revenge. When professional phone peddlers make the mistake of giving Tom Mabe a call, he shows no mercy. One telemarketer asks to speak to the lady of the house and all Mabe has to do to get rid of her is say, "This is she." Mabe isn't afraid to push the envelope. The revenge artist unnerves one guy trying to sell carpet-cleaning services by asking him if he can remove a whole lot of blood and do it immediately. He manages to convince another telemarketer that she's been fired. And in what may be a case of going too far, he tells a dude trying to sell him a cemetery plot that he's feeling suicidal and goes on to concoct a very creepy scenario. There are plenty of good pranks here and Mabe is a master at turning the tables on people. --Fred Cisterna

2 out of 5 stars Funny once.......2007-04-28

After you listen to this CD once you'll have little desire to do it again. It is ok, but only a one shot deal.

2 out of 5 stars OK but it may be staged and not as good as Reverse Telemarketer Prankster.......2007-01-30

So I got this because I heard those underground recordings circulating on reverse prank calls on telemarketer and thought this was it. Tom Mabe is ok but I agree with some of the reviews that this might be staged. The idea is great though and thumbs up on that. I finally found the real deal on iTunes! Do a search on "Telemarketer" and look for "Reverse Telemarketer Pranksters." These are what we listened to on a road trip skiing and it was the funniest thing I'd heard in a long time. They are completely insane and I swear they are just trying to keep them on the phone as long as they can. They never answer a single question.

4 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Revenge On Telemarketers.......2007-01-09

Since the majority of telemarketers rudely interrupt us, it is refreshing to hear Tom Mabe go to work as he shares his actual experiences. Tom's wit, Tom's humor, Tom's ability to size up what's on the other end of the phone line is hysterical. What an awesome CD he created. I still get stomach cramps from laughing.

2 out of 5 stars Real calls?.......2006-12-12

I heard these a coupla times, and, I don't know, but some (not all) sound like they're staged calls. The "telemarketers" seem to play along too easily and know just what to say to set up the "jokes". Most of the telemarketers I've dealt with don't have a real stake in what they're selling so they would more than likely just hang up rather than keep feeding him the straight lines. Sorry, just a nagging thought I had while hearing some of these. That being said, a few are semi-funny once, but they get old fast.

4 out of 5 stars Stickin it to THE MAN... or at least the people who work for THE MAN.......2006-01-07

This is an album of one man's struggle to stick it to the man, or at least stick it to the poor souls who work for the man. These were all recorded in Tom's home with a tape recorder connected to his phone. This is sort of like Crank Yankers in reverse. Whenever a telemarketer calls Tom he puts on an act for them, acting in the most bizarre way possible. The names have been removed to cover his butt. His acts can get him into trouble, as it probably did in the call where he asked the carpet cleaner if they could get "a lot of blood out of the carpet, out of the drapes, and off the wall." This resulted in a very curious customer service rep calling him back, where he nervously made a gesuture about cutting himself shaving.

One of my favorite parts was the auto parts customer service survey, where he explains in detail how the male salesperson wanted to give him "special favors" for free merchandise. When asked by the survey person "Would you recommend this salesperson to your friends?" he replies "Oh yes, because all my friends are gay,"

Many of the jokes are vulgar, which is fine for a pottymouth like me. The CD is fun, however after running through it about 3 or 4 times the jokes get kinda old. There are some points where you can easily tell this was pre-scripted, and he's trying too hard. But like other comedy CDs, it's good for keeping people entertained on long road trips.
