The Master Is Back!.......2005-09-18
Disappointing!!!.......2003-11-03
Brilliant Mimicry.......2001-12-19
The Spelling Song and The Closing Song are, in particular, extraordinarily funny. Another very humorous track for the holidays, You Ain't Getting S*** for Christmas", is a wonderful addition to follow up his "Holy S***, it's Christmas, from Red's first album. Both of these songs give me the jollies.
This is a recording that you could play low volume at the Shriner's club or your grandmother's birthday party and no one would notice how utterly tasteless the lyrics were because of the smoothness of the music and lyrical stylings of Red.
In and out... of favor.......2000-05-27
In this work, Peters tries out different genres to cut down to size. There's the country tune `Long and Hard', the `I Wanna Polka Polka', and a new Christmas carol mixed in with the cocktail/lounge standards. He also tries his hand at audio bits- sketches and ad satires. These were hit-and-miss with me. I loved `Babes' Auto Villa', `Peenitch', and the suppository ad; unfortunately, the rest of them fell flat. And, being the politically incorrect guy he is, Red takes a few sacrilegious shots at our national pastime's seventh-inning-stretch tradition with `Take It Out At The Ball Game'. And his phone call to the Pope is certainly an unforgettable moment.
One thing that really irks me-sometimes the curse words are bleeped out, and at other times you hear them (very) loud and clear. I wish it were one way or another. Other than that... if you enjoyed Joe Pesci's character Tommy DeVito from `GoodFellas', the final `bonus' track is something to savor...
