Bedtime music guaranteed to put you to sleep.......2007-07-03

Other people may share the difficulty of falling asleep in a different bed when one is visiting friends, traveling, etc. Some friends let me use this CD when I was having trouble sleeping at their place. It does work best with headphones because I have experienced a tingling, the only way to describe that the music was really designed to affect the brainwaves. This really does make you calm and relaxed. You will also never get bored of the tune. I love the idea that there is only two tracks to prevent interruption. Sweet dreams!

Great for afternoon pickmeup.......2007-03-19

My problem with naps (which I think everyone could do with more of) is that I wake up feeling like I've been hit by a car. Taking an hour to use this CD, even if I fall asleep in the middle, does not produce that effect. I highly recommend this if you are dealing with any health conditions exacerbated by stress and/or lack of sleep.

I've purchased three now I keep giving them away as gifts. I use the part two in my massage work. It's an hour long and really facilitate deep relaxation. I love this item.

If you are new to sound healing, this CD is worth a try. One CD provides the background and the other the 'healing' pieces.

I have provided this CD as a gift to several of my friends and use it to provide relaxation and general well-being.

Emotional Healing - Review from April, 2000.......2006-04-12

With pillows surrounding my body and my headphones on, I relaxed as my body drifted into an incredibly deep sleep. Never have I woken and felt quite so healed or refreshed. It was as if my spirit was vibrating at a new level within my body. It is hard to explain unless you have experienced this place of peace. I am an avid promoter of massage and natural healing. This to me is similar to a massage - but is a massage for the soul. As a child my mother often played classical music for me and swears by its calming effect. At college I often attended many concerts and always enjoyed the classical music the most. I recommend the CD version since Dr. Weil speaks for a few minutes and you may not want to listen to this each time. It is easier to forward to the music. Sometimes I do listen to his voice since it is so calming and you cannot learn everything just listening once. I highly recommend this CD if you need physical or emotional healing. He is onto something and I know you will benefit from this relaxing retreat.

Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

the sound quality of these bowls is just so clear! the clarity is excellent and listening is so calming and centering... I use this CD in my therapy work to help my clients go beyond talk therapy and I am amazed at what comes up. This is hiphop taken back to its roots and brought to the front at the same time, much better than most of the top 40 'poser wannabe gangsta' garbage (getting alot like 80's rock, men dressing all fruity and acting all stupid) on the radio and playing on MTV. solid beats, catchy loops, this is what its all about, just good music the way hiphop was meant to be. no shilling corporate sodas or any things like that, just good songs from start to finish - also - check out the new disc "Dogfight" pushing the envelope even further. These guys are due to get some crazy respect, enjoy now while the enjoyin' is good!

Music fans like to complain about a lot of things. Almost mediocre talents selling millions of albums, poseurs crashing an undiscovered scene and stealing all the hot ordeurves, and that unforgivable sin: selling out. But the truth is, everyone is looking for the next great band that creates soundtracks for their lives. Your life is the hard part; but luckily for you, your soundtrack is right here at Amazon. "Rat Race Vacation" is a simple point and click away

And what a soundtrack it is! Trip-hop jazz at two in the morning? "Rhythmically Rhyming" has got you covered. Dive bar blues with the boys and a round of extra spicy buffalo wings on a Friday night? "Obese" is a click away. Need to get the party moving like Booger in "Revenge of the Nerds"? Save the blunts for later; pump "Get Your Head On" to eleven. Funky Swamp Rap that could whip Madonna's leather chaps right off her...you know. Take two swigs of "Talkin' About Stuff" and call me in the morning.

Influences abound: I count at least two dozen, not including Beastie Boys, Afrika Bambaataa, Devo, and Run-DMC in their prime. But the issue is far more important that who or what these guys sound like. Hip-Hop is in a state of crisis. Aren't you tired of listening to glam-rock hip-hoppers who are more interested in selling clothes and soap detergent than disseminating a positive message and dropping mind-altering beats? Remember, it was an unknown three piece that changed the world in 1991 with just a single album. Isn't it about time the same thing happened to hip-hop? You can make that happen. Be early to the party for once instead of jumping on the bandwagon.

Absorb RHP's CD and get ready to be inspired! In one of the best tracks on the album, OBESE, Shred Lexicon tells us "My rhymes are obese"- the album proves itself worthy and Obese is a perfect way to sum up Rat Race Vacation. Their outstanding lyrical style and creatively crafted beats crack open a most worthy sound delivering a tasty helping of what is sure to become a new standard for informed hip hop heads looking for an inspired musical experience. Regenerated Headpiece's inventive style has me listening to the album over and over--every time I discover new grooves and rhymes that wont quit.

I don't know guys, it MIGHT BE BETTER THAN WAVEFIELD.......2005-10-24

Yeah I have wavefield and i love it. But I listen to this record so much it is ridiculous. Anybody can appreciate the beauty here, even a skeptic about drone music could put this on and take the best nap they've ever had. I listen to it when doing anything but like most drone music it is really good when sleeping. I just think the tones on this album are some of the most lush gorgeous sounds i have ever heard.

Start with WAVE FIELD.......2000-10-30

Very good ambient drones. Like Eno's ambient works but avoids the "cheese" factor that plagues alot of the stuff after "Thursday Afternoon". The only track that I didn't totally love is the solo acoustic guitar track, even though it could have it's use at a quiet volume, mingling with the sound of birds and windchimes in my backyard. I love the way the tones curl over themselves and create a beautifully dense cloud in the fourth track. His masterpiece IS definately the warm, oceanic "Wave Field" album from 1995 and it is strangely not available here. Try cdnow.com or direct from Drag City if you are so inclined. Do exactly what the liner notes in "Wave Field" say and listen to it very quietly or very loud. You can listen to it hundreds of times. On his last album, "Aeriola Frequency" on the Perdition Plastics label, he succeeds in further removing himself from the compositions to create an audio environment that you can leave on in a room for hours and it will add interesting atmosphere without doing too much. Also seek out Alvin Lucier's "I Am Sitting In A Room", which, along with Eno, Cage, and MBV is another touchstone for this work. Also look for Nuno Canavarro's playful Eno-ish masterpiece from '88 "Plux Quba", which was re-mastered by Rafael.

Sound Mind Sound Body is the kind of CD one can enjoy listening to out loud late at night without hearing to the neighbours complainting trough the apartment walls. It sound is quite gentle and calm and, listening to it, you can only free itself within, permit all those beams and rays of sound to gain dimension in your mind. And they do. It's compositions are all made of the same texture, they all have the same fluorescent night sky dark blue to which the plain in the cover is flying to, yet, as you listen to it, they all individualize in different ways, in different "soundscapes", with emotional tonalities that can only express themselves wholy using the instruments (mainly guitar)in an abstract way we're not used to listen often.

A calm & nurturing oasis of sound, offering healing tones for body, mind and soul. This CD contains the first serious compositions I've written in decades. It also marks my return to grand piano, after 15 years absence. Much of the music was originally written at the request of Dr Yu Chen. "Lament" was composed after the holocaust in Beslan, Russia. When I heard how many children had been killed I was so moved that I sat down and began playing. The music you hear is the end result.
