this contains the definitive version of "ojitos bellos" i think. i'm buying for this song alone if i can't find grupomania. at 4.98 used one can't go wrong. find some dominicans to dance with and you are rocking.

What a shame to see no review of this CD! This CD may be a few years old now, but it holds up very well! Vas a bailar! Each song is unique, with its own sound and voice, but all are irresistible to the dancer in you. The clips above will give you a flavor - for "cachamba", "soltera" and "sufriendo por ella", search on those song names and you'll be able to hear their clips on other CDs. All the songs on this CD are original, in their radio-length entirety and unmixed or altered (that I can tell).

Great compilation, great merengue mix.......2002-03-06

If you purchase this compilation cd, you will be listening to some of best merengues that were released in 1999 and 2000. The cd was wonderfully compiled with merengues from some of the greatest singers of this category. All the songs are danceable, upbeat and rhythmic. If you don't have music from all of these singers, the cd gives you the opportunity to sample the different styles of merengue that is unique to each artist. I highly recommend this purchase to all merengue fans. Great compilation cd!

Worth buying for the the cut from La Banda Gorda alone - don't let the sample clip fool you, it cuts off just before the horns get going and blow this one out of the room!
