As expected "Amor en silencio" is a great production with all the trimmings. Frank Reyes is at his highest point with the style of bachata that he sings and is one of the best singers "bachateros" of this musical category. This cd in particular is a fine example of beauty and all the songs are a wonderful display of Frank's talent. If it possible to say, this is his best album yet but that what I thought when I listened to his two previous recordings. All I can say is that if you are a fan of romantic bachata and can appreciate a soft and sincere voice, don't hesistate any longer. This cd will meet all of your expectations. Other recommended productions: "Vine a decirte adiós", "Extraño mi pueblo". A five star rating simply is not enough!

Frank Reyes has probably the best bachata voice, period. The first song make you want to dance, the second make you want to go in dominican republic and fall in love. The musician on this album are amazing, the production is perfect, the recording is very well done. One of the best BACHATA CD ever, problably the best release in 2000.

Germaine Montero's acting career started in a theater in Madrid, in the '30s, under the direction of none other than Frederico Garcia Lorca. In France, she first became known through her interpretations of Spanish songs, but her powerful voice also sang the French poets, such as Pierre Mac Orlan, Jacques Prevert, Joseph Kosma (Autumn Leaves), and Leo Ferré, as well as the classics of the French repertoire. On the stage, she interpreted Claudel, Pirandello and Bertold Brecht. She also appeared in many films. Montero's deep, remarkable voice, full of emotions, interprets with feelings and intelligence the beautiful lyrics of the great poet Frederico Garcia Lorca. I still have an old LP, which I purchased in the '50s, when I was fifteen, which I still play often although, by now, as you can imagine, it has seen better days. The same set of poems, with the beautiful guitar accompaniment, was published in the late '90s, but unfortunately is out of print and otherwise unavailable, but I am still hoping...

April 2005. Hurrah! I found one copy! But I'll still keep my old, scratched-up 33 rpm LP, for nostalgia sake .

The poetry of Garcia Lorca is classic and well known as being among the greatest of the century. The reading by Germaine Montero is what makes this CD truly exceptional. Her voice and timing seem like the only possible interpretation of the poetry. For anyone who loves Spanish literature or who wants to perfect their Spanish, this is a gem.
