Still great salsa!.......2003-02-27

Salsa en la calle 8 '98 is still such a wonderful cd to own if you are looking for a thorough salsa compilation cd. I think it was a great year for salsa in general and whenever I play the cd it reminds me of the artists and songs that were popular at that time. The songs fall under the category of romantic salsa but with a fast tempo. They are definitely all danceable. The most popular songs are: Arrepentida, Bongo (a nightclub favorite), He tratado (a nightclub gem as well) and Juliana (a salsa lover's delight). This edition is better than some of the newer Calle 8 editions, don't let the year fool you, this salsa is still popular among the connoisseurs of this genre and salsa dancers in general. I sincerely recommend this purchase.

What an album!!.......2003-02-18

As a newcomer to the latin amercian/salsa scene i was introduced to this album by a friend. The beats are intoxicating. The album is very well put together. Each track compliments the next. Forget not understanding the language you can feel this album. It takes you away to dance your socks off. With a clever mix of upbeat and slower tracks definatley one for anyones collection!
One of my best buys in ages!! Haven't stopped playing it!

What an album!!.......2003-02-13

As a fairly newcomer to the salsa scene I heard this album from a friend and was so overwhelmed i had to find it. Forget the fact that you may not understand the words, the beats and music are intoxicicating. Each track jumps out and begs you to tap your feet close your eyes and imagine you are somewhere else dancing your socks off.
Don't really have a bad word about this album. Put together well. Each track compliments the previous one making you beg for more. Great if you are a novice like me or a seasoned pro. One definatley for anyones collection.
