1 out of 5 stars How can people like such a disgusting music?.......2004-10-05

How can people call this beautiful music? It sounds to me very vulgar and disgusting. For beautiful music listen to the complex sounds of classical music or opera heavy metal which is very much influenced by classical music and opera.

5 out of 5 stars The Experience Singing.......2002-02-28

The Billboard Awards four-nominated artist, Juan Gabriel, and Grammy winners Banda el Recodo have mixed their talents in this excellent production. If you like Juan Gabriel and you are a lover of Banda genre this CD is just what we have been waiting for. Even if you are not too close to Banda music you will be surprised to listen this magnificent CD. Including songs like "No me vuelvo a enamorar" and "He venido a pedirte perdón," ones that helped Juan Gabriel climb where he is, with a new rhythm, this CD becomes an irresistible production to have. All songs are products of the ingenious of this charismatic artist except "El Sinaloense," a song that has traveled around the world thanks to Banda el Recodo. Adding Juan Gabriel's voice converts it to a piece master that every body must have. One of Juanga's best known song, "Adorable Mentirosa," is also included in this CD, but this time with a rhythm that makes you want to dance. Combine Banda el Recodo's 50 years of artistic existence, and Juan Gabriel's more than 30, you can't wait anything but a perfect production really worth buying.

3 out of 5 stars An ill-fitting combination.......2001-09-02

Banda El Recodo is a talented group. Juan Gabriel isn't afraid to experiment. One would expect great things from a joint effort. Well, you can tap your toe to it . . . Gabriel's voice just doesn't mesh well with an oomph, oomph, honk, honk stage sound. Even Gabriel signature pieces--"Costumbres," "No me vuelvo a enamorar"--don't hold up in this album. Gabriel's voice sounds clipped, strained. The CD is also no bargain. Gabriel, usually generous in quantity, ends this release after only 33 minutes. With all due respect to all of the people involved in this project the combo just doesn't work very well. People who want to hear REALLY good Gabriel should spend their money on his Palacio de Bellas Artes live performance CDs and videos.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELENTE.......1999-01-15

Definitivamente es un gran disco de coleccion, el cual le recomiendo a todos aquellos amantes de este genero de musica que es muy bella. La Banda de el Recodo es toda una institucion y creanme que no se arrepentiran... gracias. Juan

1 out of 5 stars The worst of the worst..........2000-03-30

Not only has she NO uniqueness in her style, but her voice sounds like a squirel's voice. She should be taken off this web-site. She's horrible!

4 out of 5 stars Interesting Mariachi sounds on '15 Exitos'.......1999-12-26

This is a good compilation album of some of Beltran's earlier songs. Attention-grabbers include "Mi Tiempo de Amar," full of shrill string instruments that highlight the singer's uniquely high-pitched voice. "No Eres El Mismo De Ayer", and "Voy a Morir Por Ti" are other catchy tunes that are unlike normal mariachi songs. Beltran fills these songs with drama and emotion. The mariachi version of "No Me Trates Mal" is a must-hear, one of Beltran's best tunes of all time. Forget the banda songs that fill the majority of the disc. They were recorded when she was very young and have a bare-bones sound to them. She has re-recorded most of these songs for her more recent "Grandes y Nuevos Exitos" compilations, with much better results.

5 out of 5 stars Graciela- This is the way i like to hear it! :).......1999-11-21

My Favorite Favorite song on this album is "Te Perdi La Fe" it is such a pretty song and her voice is the MOST BEAUTIFUL on this song. the title is cute, and her voice is especially high when she sings in this song- it is the sharpest, most piercing and shrill its ever been. now, normally, when most people hear the word "shrill" they roll up into a ball, but with Graciela, this IS her sound- it is unique and fits her perfectly. shrill, high and piercing are the qualities which describe the quality of her voice and its general style, while strong and full describe the tone. She is truly and awesomely amazingly gifted in singing. Now, don't get me wrong- i REALLY don't like the banda sound. it just completely ruins her voice. However, Graciela's shining voice is hard to ignore even in a heap of banda songs. I would really like to see her sing pretty soft ballads and babydoll pop dance songs like that of Selena, Ana Cirre, Ana Gabriel- look at all these women- they have truly the BEST songs going for them- now, if Graciela could just sing their type of music, she would be the most perfect artist out there. Not that she isn't already- but its just that EVEN her music would be just as perfect as she is, if she could complement her beautiful voice with music as beautiful as it. and obviously, banda is not doing her voice justice and sadly overpowering the beauty it brings to MOST ears, because the ugly sound itself is what u notice most. (although with me, since i am a fan, i am able to overook this and appreciate Graciela's voice nevertheless) Aneway, this CD is a compilation of all her past hits when she was around 12-14, and at this time in her life is when her voice was at its most beautiful. High, young, perky, full of energy, impetuous, stratospheric, bright, shrill, piercing- everything. There are a few hi-lites for those of you who hate banda (which is only normal), like her mariachi hits- these, thankfully, are beautiful songs and the music is delicate and babydoll like. Although, some of the banda hits on here i really do love like "Morena Y Delgadita", "La Madreselva" and "El Amor No Se Vende" because they are sung in a perky, high voice and the melodies are happy, cute, and upbeat, and most of all memorable and infectious (as far as banda goes). "Te Perdi La Fe" is the same as them as well, only it has a special melody that makes it stand out from the rest. (if they just put this song in babydoll dance mix form and got rid of the banda, it would be perfect!) So....buy this album, try it out, and if u hate the music, at least try to see if u appreciate the voice!

5 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Mix of Phenomenal Super Exitos!!!!!!!!.......1999-07-11

One aspect I love about Graciela is how she always comes out with SO MANY "Super Exitos" or Greatest Hits album. She has made, so far, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17 Super Exitos albums. And her most recent are "Grandes Y Nuevos Exitos, Vol. 1 and 2", which consists of 24 songs between the 2 albums. THIS album, "La Reina Del Pueblo" is not the right title. It should be "La Reina Del Mundo"!!!! I loved this album so much. I listen to it everywhere I go. Graciela's voice is so beautiful, and her music makes me happy. I would just like to say the track listing on this website is incorrect. The correct track listing for "La Reina" is: 1) Cancion De La Palomilla (Los Dos Amantes) 2) Mi Triunfo 3) Pilares De Cristal 4) Tuya 5) Estan Lloviendo Lagrimas 6) Paloma Sin Nido 7) Baraja De Oro 8) Tu Me Dijiste Adios 9) Mi Gusto Es 10) No Me Trates Mal 11) Sentimiento De Dolor 12) Tu Recado 13) Hasta Que Amanezca 14) Voy A Morir Por Ti. The best songs on here were really ALL of them, but if you want my opinion on the BEST OF THE BEST, then i would say the 3 banda songs i liked on here the most were "Cancion De La Palomilla", "Estan Lloviendo Lagrimas" and "Hasta Que Amanezca". They were all from her album "Tesoro" in 1995, which went double platinum. My favorite song on the whole album was "Tuya", the lovely and super famous mariachi ballad from her album Tuya in 1997. This is still the most brilliant song of her career to date. I also liked "Paloma Sin Nido", "Tu Me Dijiste Adios", "No Me Trates Mal", "Tu Recado", "Mi Triunfo", and "Voy A Morir Por Ti". They were all from the SAME album, "Graciela Beltran- 1991" done in mariachi style, con el Mariachi Sol de Mexico. "Mi Gusto Es" is the only Norteno-style song featured on this album. As a whole, this album was phenomenal, i loved it!

5 out of 5 stars La Reina Of What Pueblo?.......1999-07-05

I'll tell you what pueblo, one where there are a billion people cheering for her, and the crowd is going wild, and the music is playing, and her most beautiful voice is singing like the Mexicanita that she is. Graciela, you go Mi'ja!! this was a compilation of her greatest hits and more than you could ever imagine.

1 out of 5 stars La Reina Of What Pueblo?.......1999-06-25

maybe a pueblo where people have heard only her music. She is no queen. I hate this CD, is very boring and her voice is very annoying.

5 out of 5 stars This is my favorite album so far!.......1999-12-31

First, I thought That Graciela's 15 Exitos Con Banda y Mariachi vol. 1 was my favorite- well..i guess you can say both are tied, as this comeback, volume 2, features EVEN MORE great songs like the ones on vol. 1, and both are equally great! First of all..if you are not into or cannot stand banda, then stop reading this review..i just happen to be a fan of Graciela's, and can tolerate any music she does..even if its banda (i know this type of music isn't for alot of people, especially americans..but if u want to try it out, go for it! u won't be disappointed with Graciela's bright voice) Overall, i was very pleased with alot of the selections being from her VERY young days..aka, Con La Banda Culiacan (i.e- Morena y Delgadita, Te Perdi La Fe, La Prietita)- the songs from THIS album were my favorite, not so much because they were banda, but because her voice was especially high and perky, something i love to hear in a voice. Listening to Graciela just makes me happy, and i think she is a very talented artist who deserves alot more recognition here in the US...hopefully she will record in a style of music that is more universal, so that EVERYONE will listen to her, and give that already beautiful voice a chance.
