This album is great. I have had this album for about 4 years, and I have never grown tired of it. I can listen to it over and over. This songs are great and soothing. Chris has a great voice that trenscends in every song. Worth the money.

Mellow Latin pop.......2001-06-05

Chris Duran's self-titled album is an enjoyable collection of Latin pop. All the songs are sung in Spanish. Although there are some fast-tempo songs, the overall flavor of the album is mellow, with an emphasis on slow, sensuous horns in the musical accompaniment.

Duran has a pleasant, soothing voice which he uses very effectively on the slower songs. He gives a sweetly playful performance on "Mar de Dudas." "Baila, Baila , Baila" has a disco flavor, and "No me Dejas de Besar" has a 50s rock-and-roll sound. If you like Latin pop, give "Chris Duran" a listen.

My youngest adult daughter works in a music store and knew the minute she heard this album, that I would like it.And she was right ! I loved this album right from the first moment I heard it, and I play it each day and never get tired of it. Chris' voice is so smooth and relaxing. All the songs are a hit with me. It's great for cruising around in the car, calming while driving in traffic, or good for relaxing at work before starting the day. I look forward to his next album and enjoy watching the two videos from this album on HTV. I'd love to hear these songs in concert !! Go Chris !!!!

Cris Durán es mi artista favorito, nadie va a ocupar el lugar que él tiene en mi corazón, yo soy su fan #1 de todas las que hay y por haber, mi deseo es que él visitara Saltillo Coahuila en México y poderlo ir a conocer, pero lo qeu más deseo es compartir algunas palabra con él y tener una fotografía autografiada por él mismo y tener por lo menos el disco de él ya que no lo he podido conseguir aquí y deseo tanto tenerlo así como conocerlo bueno esto es lo que más deseo y él es el chico con el que más sueño.

EXTRAORDINARY - Duran Duran goes Victorian.......2004-07-28

If you enjoy classical music and can appreciate the modern turns being given to the format (by groups such as BOND), you will LOVE this Duran tribute.

I loved the song selection - a few deep cuts chosen won't be readily recognizable by the average fan, but true Duranies will get a kick out of choices like "Meet El Presidente".

Since alot of Duran's music was written with horns or strings included, it wasn't that much of a leap to imagine the entire song done by a string ensemble, such as "Ordinary World."

This is such an interesting and well-done cd. It is wonderful to listen to and you'll probably find yourself singing along to the more popular tunes, like "Rio."

Loved the concept, loved the song selection, loved the cd!

This string tribute to Duran Duran is rather lackluster. It's not that the musicians aren't talented; it's just that Duran Duran's music - or at least most of the songs chosen for this release - doesn't translate well to the string-quartet format. A collection featuring all Duran ballads (Midnight Sun, Michael, Pop Trash Movie, Land, Winter Marches On, Matter of Feeling, etc.) would have worked better. If you're one of those fans who feels the need to own every release related to Duran Duran, it's not a terrible purchase to make, but for the casual fan, it's not worth it.
