As a long time fan of Marc Anthony, I have all of his cds. I love his voice because while it's powerful, it's also smooth and heavenly. I love all of his work, but there is something about him singing in spanish. It's obviously so natural to him and he's at his best then. Not that I know what he's singing about, but the songs are so stunning and beautiful - it almost doesn't matter.
On here, the two standout songs are Te Conozco Bien and a beautiful ballad Hasta Ayer. I love to listen to this often because it's soothing after a long day. While I do wish he'd release more english speaking albums, again, I think he's at his best singing spanish. Pick this up if you are a salsa or a Marc Anthony fan. It's amazing.

Best Album by Marc Anthony.......2005-10-27

I originally purchased this tape over eight years ago. I had a super long commute and it never left my car. Now that I no longer have a commute, or a tape deck in my truck for that matter, I decided to purchase the CD for in home use. And USE it I do. There are not a lot of songs on the CD but as the old saying goes its quality not quantity that counts. I own other Marc Anthony CD's but this is, by far, the best.
Buy it and enjoy.

I truly don't know how ANY Marc Anthony CD can go unnoticed---particularly the Spanish language albums. This man is truly one of the greatest salseros of today. He mixes his own funky, fresh flavor with traditional salsa coros and beautiful orchestration (due in no small part to Sergio George, one of the greatest Latin music producers today).

This album starts off on a high and energetic note with "Se Me Sigue Olvidando." I love the piano intro! It only gets better from there. Some of his most well-loved salsa tunes are front and center on this CD. They include "Te Conozco Bien," "Nadie Como Ella," and "Te Amare." There is also an achingly beautiful ballad in "Hasta Ayer." If anything, Marc needs to record more romantic ballads. I can guarantee you, that if he doesn't break your heart with his devestatingly beautiful vocals, the guitar riffs will melt even the iciest heart. Many of these songs are also featured on "Desde El Principio," a retrospective of Marc's great salsa career.

The best Marc Anthony album ever!.......2004-08-20

This is my very favorite Marc Anthony album. "Se Me Sigue Olvidando", "Te Amaré", and "Nadie Como Ella", are my three favorite songs on this album. None of his other albums could ever compare to this one.

Savall and Hesperion XXI often return to the same material, almost obsessively; yet this repertory - the interface of early Iberian art music and the traditional - sustains endless re-visiting and re-interpretation; there can never be one definitive interpretation of this endlessly rewarding music, as Renaissance and Baroque composers knew - producing as they did endless variations on traditional themes which had woven their way from the popular sphere to the realm of 'art' music. Some of these bass melodies are presented here - the 'Follia' and 'Canaries' -and it is wonderful that Savall has the artistic freedom to perform versions of these again and again on his own label, Alia Vox. The above disc was made with the French label Naive in the early nineties, and on the face of it, might appear to have been superseded by a number of discs made by Savall recently on Alia Vox - see titles such as 'Ostinato' from 2001 , 'La Folia 1490-1701', from 2000, and 'Altre Folie' from 2005, which has 're-takes' of some of the pieces on this disc, such as Mudarra's, and De Cabezon's. Yet I think this CD remains a very special disc, and I don't think Savall has necessarily improved on his interpretations as recorded here. Listen to the last piece on this CD, Savall's own improvisation for viol with violone on the Canarios ground melody; far terser, more grave and finally more interesting than his later rather rambling essay on the Canarios theme on the 'Ostinato' disc. The same applies to Arauxo's beautiful 'Todo el mundo' where Lorenz Duftschind's violone makes for an almost hypnotic bass part, more so than the organ used in the 'Ostinato' disc. In fact it is the eschewal on this CD of any keyboards or (especially) a percussion at times liable to irritate which make the viol consort-based peformances on this disc so pleasing - producing a clean, dark texture almost unique in Savall's recorded output.
The string-based pieces comprise transcriptions of 'high style' Fantasias for organ by Cabaniles (for me the highlight of the disc) and improvisations on melodies going back to the time of the Troubadors. These are alternated with solos for Lawrence-King's double harp and Lislevand's guitar and theorbo. In short this is a unique disc comprising performances which clearly have recieved a lot of thought before being commited to disc. It's one which, if you like this repertory, you'll want to return to again and again, and I hope too that Savall has not paid the last visit to this repertory - even several recordings later!

Beautiful music!.......2003-05-21

I have about ten Cds of the Hesperion groups music. This is my favorite. It has a richness and life that rivets me to the performance every time. By the time this disc is over, I am completely relaxed. I have played it for my non-classical loving friends, and they have also commented on what a great piece it is. The sonics are excellent too.

Anais- Con Todo Mi Corazón.......2007-04-21

Well I am a really big fan of Anais, and loved her first single "Tu Amor No Es Garantía" which is just great. Well I LOVE this CD! In my opinion, this is even better then her first CD. I thought that her first album was too experimental and although most of the songs were good, it didn't fit together as one single project and felt more like a mix CD.
This album however is great! Anais has really outdone herself, and since most of the songs here are ballads, you can really hear her vocal talent more on this album. in my opinion, there is not even 1 bad song on this CD, and all the songs have a great melodies and Anais' vocals are awesome. My favorite song on the album is probably "Mi Amor Por Ti", in which Anais' vocals are just awesome and it's a great love song.
I also really like "Reencuentro" It's is a great duet. and "Vivir" is a great dance track. almost all the other songs are ballads, which is where Anais shines the best. If you buy this album, you are definitley in for a treat and she definitley shows us in this CD why she won "Objetivo Fama" in the first place.

I bought the new CD from Anais because I heard her song "Tu Amor No Es Garantia" and loved it and because I own her first CD, which has great songs in it. Unfortunately her new CD doesn't have the same impact, her first track is the only one worth listening to. Save your money don't bother with the CD, you will thank me in the end.

Romantic crooner Obie Bermudez again displays his talent for vivid imagery and absorbing stories on "Todo el Ano," an intriguing 11-track pop collection. Bermudez's strength has always been the mid-tempo romantic ballad. But casual fans though, may find that most of the tunes sound vaguely familiar--most have slow buildups and anthemic choruses. Yet there are just enough nuances--ringing guitars, percolating keyboards, vocal harmonies, and tropical percussion--to keep things interesting. On "Ya Te Olvide," he describes the struggle in trying to forget an unforgettable love, while "El Recuerdo," co-written with Gian Marco, reflects on the shadows of happy times long gone. Bermudez also collaborated with songwriters Mickey Perfecto, Juan Carlos Perez Soto, and Robert Gomez Bolanos and co-poducers Sebastian Krys and Joel Someillan. Bermudez added horns on this production, and they particularly shine on "Maldita Boca." Standouts also include the dance rock and tropical-flavored "Celos." As a vocalist, Bermudez has also evolved. When he sings at full throttle, as on the mid-tempo ballad "No Se Nada de Ti," he recalls a young Jon Secada. Ultimately, "Todo el Ano" sounds like his debut, "Confesiones," but with more rock guitars and vocal harmonies. --Ramiro Burr

This is by far my favorite cd. I have so many cds in spanish, and Obie Bermudez I could listen to for hours. Even my friends who don't know Spanish love this cd.

An album to listen to.......2005-12-29

In "Todo el Ano", Obie Bermudez offers a more subdued approach to his unique storytelling music. Though songs like "Maldita Boca", "Como Pudiste", and "El Recuerdo"---with their catching, emotional phrasing---will leave listeners singing along, the follow-up to his 2003 release "Confesiones" is a listening album. Quite listeners will appreciate Bermudez's ability to combine an ecclectic variety of instruments and musical influences (there is a bit of jazz, tropical, and Bermudez shares credit for reggaetón-esque beats of "Celos" with rapper Mikey Perfecto) without losing his essentially pop/ballad style.

Después de su exitoso álbum Confesiones, con temas como "Antes" y "Me cansé de ti", Obie Bermúdez regresa con un muy buen trabajo discográfico y su característico estilo.

Entre mis canciones preferidas, se destacan la energética "Celos" y la hermosa balada "Cómo pudiste".
CD altamente recomendado por la calidad del sonido, la originalidad de los temas, y la peculiar voz de Obie que hace que valga la pena escuchar cada canción.

A very nice follow-up to his breakout album "Confesiones".......2005-02-09

Once again, Obie Bermudez delivers a subtle but effective approach to his distinct musical style, which--in spite of his exclusive use of an effusively poetic rendering of the Spanish language--transcends the Latin genre. Who but Obie can make a harsh exchange of words ("Maldita Boca") or a tragic ode to an historical Mexican film figure ("Chapulin") have infectious pop hooks that make you want to play the songs over and over? Overall, "Todo el Año" is not as powerful an album as "Confesiones", but Obie does not disappoint with this 11-track offering. And, although none of the individual tracks may measure up to the multigenerational appeal of "Antes" (from his "Confesiones" album), "Todo el Año" gets you jumping, dancing, crooning, and revelling in sweet melancholy as soon as the first few notes begin to play. Definitely a great purchase!

I've been a big fan of Marc Anthony for years and this cd is how I first got a taste of his music. This is the type of cd that where you just have to listen to every track twice. You'll be up and dancing when you listen to the first song. You don't have to speak Spanish to listen this salsero sensacional!

All the songs on this CD are AMAZING. Not one bad song, seriously. This is one of the few albums that you can listen to all the tracks without having to skip a song. Buy this CD before buying all his other CD's. You can trust me on this review, the only type of music I really enjoy is British pop/rock but I like this album. IF YOU LIKE MUSIC YOU'LL LIKE THIS.
