Hector's all-time classic debut album........2006-12-17

While never released as a single, Hector's truly superb cover version of the classic bolero "Tus Ojos" (previously recorded by both Santos Colon and Vicentico Valdes) is this album's crown jewel. In my opinion, said song is Hector's all-time best vocal performance--so much so, in fact, that I'd say it was nothing short of shameful that it wasn't issued as a single. "El Todopoderoso", "Rompe Saraguey" and "Mi Gente" were the big hits --which deservedly became classics--but "Tus Ojos" remains beautiful beyond compare.

Lavoe's first solo album!!!.......2006-06-09

Here is the remastered edition of Hector Lavoe's first album. This edition includes the original cover art and an essay. It does sound much better than the previous Fania edition and it's cheaper too!
Produced by Willie Colon and featuring Mark Dimond on piano, Nicky Marrero on timbales and Ray Maldonado on trumpet, this is a New York salsa classic (1975)from beginning to end. No weak or filler tunes here.

Another sonic disappointment.......2007-08-02

It appears that Emusica is trying to cash in on El Cantante movie release and pushing this compilation as quick as they can.

The selection of songs is excellent and the fact that they did not pulled the same stunts as FANIA did in the past (40 minute CD's) is commendable but they screwed up again on the sonics of this compilation.

Some of the songs (Aguanile, Te Conozco, Barrunto, Todo Tiene Su Final, Periódico de Ayer, Hacha y Machete & Vamos a Reír un Poco) sounded worst than the previous remasters (A lot of hiss and compression).

Are you guys (Emusica) actually listening to the recordings on a decent system before they are released to the public or you are just putting them out as fast as you can?

I've been purchasing from Amazon for at least 4 years and never bothered to review a product until now. I watched the DVD that is included during business travel, watched it on my laptop in the airport and her voice and performance is so compelling, everyone wanted to watch & listen, people from different walks of life, backgrounds have shared the same awe type stare. This album is very recommendable,the songs'selection is interesting.all songs are covers,but It is sung prefectly.I got the mexican version of this cd. and it contains 16 songs and not 10 as de USA version. the dvd has 18 clips and only ten in USA version.Yuridia has a great voice. you must have it.

One of the best ska albums ever.......2006-06-24

It seems to me like alot of people in the United States that like ska have never heard of Ska-p, but they are probably the best ska band I have ever heard, and Que Corra La Voz is my favorite of all their CDs; I listen to it at least once a week still. To bad their not together anymore, but the second singer (not sure how to best say it) has his own group called "the locos". If you like ska-p check them out.

A Phenomenal Journey from Rio Bravo to Rio de la Plata.......2004-01-31

Yolanda and Enrique offer us this true Latin American musical embrace. Although I knew of Enrique Coria's masterful guitar style, this lyrical duo with Yolanda Aranda really exceeded everything I expected. The trained voice of Yolanda takes us through zambas and huapangos with passion and subtleties. My favorite tunes are La Malagüeña (where Yolanda shows the real pitch of her voice) and La Canción Mixteca. Chava Flores' Mi México de Ayer is also really moving. In La Pucha con el Hombre (a great escondido in the tradition of Los Carabajal), Yolanda may not compete with my paisana Mercedes Sosa, yet her voice really shines. In summary, this is one of the best Latin American musical partnerships I heard in the last years: an homage to the everlasting Latin American musical tradition.
