Suena Un Poco Monotomo.......2007-02-14

El disco tiene un buen sonido, mas clasico que en sus discos anteriores (desde 2001, Vengo Con Todo), pero todas las diez canciones suenan casi iguales, que hace el disco sonar monotomo. Las voces suenan bien, ya que Ismael ha cuidado su voz durante las decadas. Las canciones fueron ya cantados por otros cantantes, especialmente la primera cancion "Dejenme si Estoy LLorando"; en 2005 en ritmo de merengue por Joseph Fonseca, y hace unas generaciones atras por Roberto Ledesma. El disco seria bueno para la gente que ya conocen las canciones, pero la salsa en este disco no es bailable, es casi dormilon como el disco de Gilberto Santa Rosa "De Cara Al Viento" de 1994.

This is my favorite recording by Enrique Chia by far. The rhythm will have you swaying and dancing even if you don't know how...There is no way you can resist moving to the music.

High-energy Latin piano for a great warm-up..........2000-07-12

Selections from this CD were used in a warm-up as part of a dance workshop in San Jose, CA. The melodies were fantastic in keeping a high-energy output throughout. I recommend this CD to everyone that loves a great Latin beat to move with.

Issac - El Chevere de la Salsa!.......2001-01-09

I have been an ardent fan of Issac Delgado since 1994, when a representative from QBADISC records gave me a QBADISC sampler as a gift. The sampler featured a variety of Cuban artists, however, Issac's music (for me) stood head and shoulders above the rest. The tracks were from, "Con Ganas," Issac's U. S. debut recording (it is still one of my favorites, I highly recommend it.)

This is El Chevere de la Salsa doing what he does best. Singing and swinging in his own inimitable way. Ever wonder who influenced Issac's smooth style of singing? His parents! Who were both big fans of the "feeling movement" (a laid back, romantic style from back in the day) in Cuba!

La Primera Noche will make you realize why Issac is one of Cuba's biggest stars. Also, why he draws crowds of 30 to 50,000 people and leaves them gasping for more.

This is Salsa Cubana at its very best. Que Chevere!

Smokin' salsa and son from a sadly underrated master sonero........2004-09-03

Angel Canales was and remains an enigmatic and controversial figuire in 1970s salsa. He was very flashy, flamboyant and outrageous on stage but was also a tireless fighter for artists' rights. Rumour has it that he became so disillusioned with the music industry that he threw all of his music into the ocean (allegedly). This album was one of his best releases and showcases his formidable improvisational skills. The only track worth skipping on this otherwise superb album is his truly mediocre cover of the classic bolero "La Hiedra" (Canales was a great sonero but not a good bolero singer). Originally released in 1975 and produced by Joe Cain.

Quite simply, this is a great CD! This Los Angeles-based Latin jazz group plays original compositions with a wonderfully cool rhythm and tremendous musicality throughout. It's a CD you'll put on and listen to all the way through, over and over. Don't be put off by the difficulty in locating the CD or the low-budget appearance of the packaging--this is a CD worth searching to find. If you can locate a copy, you'll thank yourself for making the effort!
